“The ultimate aim of an attack on a town area is to break the morale of the population which occupies it. To ensure this, we must achieve two things: first, we must make the town physically uninhabitable and, secondly, we must make the people conscious of constant personal danger. The immediate aim, is therefore, twofold, namely, to produce (1) destruction and (2) fear of death.” —British Air Staff 1941

Lee didn’t “reject” Trump in any way . He said nothing about Trump and simply gave the standard politician answer that decent and humble people give when their names are floated for higher office - “I’m happy with my current job and I plan to to do good job and represent my constituents...” This “rejection” story is a total media fabrication designed to divide republicans and it seems to work well here at the FR.

It is important for Freepers and other conservatives to comment on the WP and other liberal sites because it ties up their nutjobs attacking your comments and arguing with you. If they are doing that at the WP then that is time they don’t have to go to other more reasonable outlets and sew their propaganda. Take the fight to the enemy, make them fight on their turf.

Yes it’s an obvious setup and the liberals think they will get to ambush trump and throw softballs to Hillary that make her look statesman-like but I see this as a classic Wiley Coyote situation. Trump will start his first answer by ignoring the question and laying in to how Lauer is a Clinton Foundation flunky and how nasty and corrupt the whole Clinton Foundation thing is . When Lauer tries to hit back or defend himself Trump will lay in to the Leftist media in general and talk about how they have openly plotted to attack Trump and have openly said how this election is too important to their leftist cause to try to be impartial or non-partisan. It will be a Circus and the takeaway will be all about crooked Hillary and her crooked media pals. It will setup the real debates so that most people going into it will rightfully believe that the moderator and media an

Trump will have no trouble with Utah. His numbers will be down from Romney’s 72% (favorite son) but he will still poll somewhere in the 60’s. Mormons I know have the same opinion of Trump as other Republicans. Some love him, some don’t like his personality (like my wife who will eventually pull the Trump lever because of the alternative), and some are weaselly establishment types who don’t like him. But Romney is a poor sample for how most Mormons or Utah voters will vote. It’s like saying Trump can’t win Wisconsin because Paul Ryan doesn’t like him.

I really don’t get the Freeper hostility to this idea of Christians trying to make an impact in their world. According to the article these “evil cult” people want Christians to get involved in and influence “Arts & Entertainment, Business, Education, Family, Government, Media and Religion” The only example the author gives is Bill Bright who started Campus Crusades - what an awful thing to do ministering to college kids!
The communists decided 60 years ago that the only way they could take over America was by infiltrating “Arts & Entertainment, Business, Education, Family, Government, Media and Religion” Seems like they did a pretty good job of their goal. Art, Media and Education are totally dominated by the godless and anti-Christian left. They have infiltrated a great many Churches to their spiritual and functional destruction. As another Freeper pointed out a hundred years ago Christians were heavily involved in all of these 7 things. We built schools and universities, hospitals and YMCAs. Businesses proudly proclaimed their founders faith and protected and supported the faith of their workers. Art and entertainment respected the public morality, a Christian one, and produced works of beauty reflecting God’s creation.
It seems like this election has got a lot of Freepers to lose their senses and compass. If we rewound 6 months and took a poll of Christian Freepers and asked them if they thought it was important in the war we are fighting today against the Left , for Christians to stand up in Arts & Entertainment, Business, Education, Family, Government, Media and Religion it would have been a nearly unanimous yes. We live in a country with 50 state gay marriage, transgender idiocy, blatant persecution of Christians, a Maoist atmosphere on college campuses, brainwashing of your kids from Pre-K, and a media that promotes it all. I think it is very much time for Christians to step back into the crucible.

I am very much in your boat. I have met and talked with Cruz several times since his Senate run. He is the most brilliant and principled man we have run for office in a century. He would be an awesome benevolent dictator but I do fear his ability to get congress to take up his agenda. Despite supporting Cruz with money and time at this point I am going for Donald. His populist and politically incorrect message is transformational in politics. Although I thought and still think Cruz could win the primary, I think he will have a tough time in the general. His doctrinaire conservatism and kind of weak people skills and persona mean that he will have hard time bringing back Reagan Democrats and independents. His path to victory relies on turning out huge amounts of conservatives and evangelicals and bringing back some libertarian former Republicans. It is daunting but his proven campaign/volunteer/ground game/and data are the best I have seen from a republican. So he has a legitimate shot of pulling it off.
Trump on the other hand may be a little wishy washy on some conservative doctrine, but his points, wall, trade, strong military, ruthless prosecution of the Wars, I think he is solidly committed to. And he is straight shooter deal make who tends keep his promises. I think in the general election he has huge populist,”I have had enough” backing. He is going to pull a lot of Reagan Democrats home, lots of independent voters. He even has some strong unions support from East coast unions he has dealt with and police unions that are fed up with the current administrations war on cops. Several big unions have held their endorsement of Hillary or Bernie because they are seriously considering that they may want to endorse Trump. That is YUGE for a Republican. He also polls pretty well with legal Hispanics. The liberals always talk about Hispanic opposition to the GOP agenda as some unified front, but the strongest Democrat support is mostly illegals who can’t even vote, legal immigrants and their dependents are generally pretty anti-illegal. They worked for years and spent thousands of dollars to do it right and are not happy with the illegals who skate in.
Trump also has two secret weapons, one we have seen revealed a bit, and one almost no pundits/analysts are catching on to. The first and slightly revealed one is Trumps, self funded, beholden to no one, no Wall Street money, no special interest and lobbyist attack on the establishment in both parties. I think in the general he will ride that and have great pubic response.
The second and truly devastating for Democrats phenomenon is that black voters show some significant support for Trump. In the black community a lot of preachers are supporting him which is important, and a lot people just like the celebrity and love people who win. The urban communities likes winners, even a braggadocio and such. Is Trump going to get massive numbers or majorities of blacks. No way, but the Democrat battleground states rely on defeating suburban and rural voters by turning a lot of urban black voters, and winning 95 96% of that vote. Think Philly in PA, Miami in FL, Cleveland in OH. If Trump wins only 10 or 11 percent of the black, or black vote is depressed from no connection to Bernie and Hillary or interest in Trumpism conflicts them or causes them to not turn out strong for the Democrats,it will devastate the Democrat machine plans and result in a crazy landslide.
The big plus for a Trump presidency is that if he wins and gets to Washington he will have a huge populist mandate. He will be able to go to the GOP-E house and senate and swing district/state Democrats and say - “Look this is what the American people want and if you don’t go along with me you have to answer in 2 years my electorate , and I will show no mercy in tearing you down in front of them. Most of those are career politicians and they will bend to keep, their job, power and Perks.
So my dream is that Trump goes to the convention with a big lead but not enough to have the nomination and that Cruz will come in with a good amount, enough to put him over the top handily. Cruz the genius and full blooded conservative and Donald the deal maker agree to a Trump/Cruz ticket. And Cruz being truly genius, and he really is, will negotiate not just to be VP but to be the guy in charge of supreme court and fed judges nominations. It would be an awesome dynamic combination - huge populist support from Trump, and a solid constitutional conservatism from Cruz.
For those that say Trump and Cruz could never get together especially in light of this last weeks realy nasty ad hominen attacks Cruz from Trump, I say remember Bush Vs Reagan in 80, it was ugly but in the end they came together. If you go back in history amongst Republicans and Democrats there were some pretty strange bedfellows. So I pray and hope for a Trump-Cruz ticket to U-Turn America, and to be cliche to “Make AMerica Great again”.

I have told my kids since they were little, oldest is 19 now in his 4th year of college with double major, that we would not pay for college. We will help here and there with some things but tuition and room and board are your responsibility. They have worked and done tons of research to get scholarship and in true Trumpian fashion have learned that tuition and scholarships are negotiable if you go to the right people at the college and are persistent. I have two in college now and three more on the way in the next 5 years. They also have been brought up to know that going to school is not your full time existence. You can take classes and study 60 hours week but that still leaves time for not only play and rest but a substantial amount of job time. My son got a job at his college, really cool one, not washing dishes in the cafeteria or mowing the grass, but writing software for their radio telescopes. He got it because he excelled in classes and made really good connections with his profs. Another thing we have made clear to our kids is that if you have to take on any debt in college you better make sure your in a degree program that will get you a real degree and and a job, no social justice, sociology, or foo foo degrees.

Perfectly said. I can’t understand why young earth creations get so obsessed with the creation. The only thing that matters to us about how God created the universe and life on Earth is that HE DID. And therefore he is indeed the ultimate power. How creation was done or how long it took or whether we evolved or were poofed into existence has nothing to do with our salvation. If you are Christian the teaching of Christ and obedience to them is everything. Christ only talks about the creation when referring to the fact that his father did create the universe not how.

A lot of folks agree that ted shouldn’t throw a heavy and public punch at cruz. Until now that very true. Trumps unprovoked attacks on other candidates have generally inneffective - usually not well thought or too devastating- mostly just aside comments and snarky remarks that Donald can’t help from blurting out in ramble stump rants. He works from no script or teleprompter. With Trump live you are getting stream if thought campaigning. His position papers and in depth questioning interview are much more focused and detailed.
THAT SAID WHen Trump has been attacked his counterpunchs have been devastating. He has knocked out three fairly decent guys on the mostly conservative guys and maimed beyond repair the dead-ender bush kasich an paul. Rubio is all the establishment has left but its realky shaping up as 2 man race now. Trump vs Cruz-Ted not running for VP though he will humbly and to awesome benifit of the country take it if that where he ends up. He is also not rmunning for fame or money or future positioning. He is running to wi so at some point in the two man race he has to attack the other guy. Voting is a month away and both Ted and Donald despite a good friendship and manh shared goals both have to attack their opponent.? My hope is that they will keep it civil and do what the GOPe does when they go after conservatives in primary with their burn the slash and burn attacks that damage their opponents so badly and disaffect the voters so much that even afterm their guys lose they rejoice in his loss to the dems. I love Cruz. I love Trump. Either will be a revival for America.

Yes, the GOP-e is always harder on conservatives in the primary than they are against libs in the general. I dont think they’ve got anything on trump or they would be using now.

Cruz as VP shores up the Christian voters who dont like Trumps brashness and have been supporting Cruz or Carson.

McCain uses the open primary and has a vote machine that pulls in “independent” voters (aka liberals who register as Independents), He also spent 24 million dollars to beat Hayworth in state with only 2 tv markets. Insane!
