Ohio State is one of the top job generators in the state through its industry and research partnerships. In southern Ohio, Ohio State’s Endeavor Center has guided new business growth, resulting in $50 million in economic impact. Ohio State Medical Center’s $1 billion expansion will create 5,000 construction jobs. And a College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences initiative has been helping small businesses thrive in communities across Ohio.

The money is NOT all on campus.
Yes I am an Ohioan and OSU alum. You are obviously one of those people who look for the bad in everything and see nothing good. How sad for you. You can name every football player who has done wrong, and you won’t come close to the numbers who have gone on to become doctors, teachers, coaches, firemen, police officers, businessmen and leaders in their communities. I can recommend some reading if you are interested, but the information would ruin your cynical views.

Bull Crap! Ohio State harms as much as it contributes??? You must be on something....name any other Ohio team that is a consistent winner and source of huge revenue and pride. The Indians???LOL The Browns...even worse. The Bungles? Tressel is a man of pure class...what “thugs” has he recruited??/ and don’t say Clarett...that was Cooper.

well, I would like to say a few things about Ohio. There are fabulous medical facilities from Cleveland to Cincinnati, and many fine small college towns in between. The cost of living is pretty low, and schools away from the cities, especially in smaller towns with universities are really great. Just stay away from the cities and you will be fine. The farther south you go, the milder the winters. I have lived in Ohio all of my working life and raised our kids in Ashland and it was a quality of life that is hidden in “fly-over country” Would not trade it for a minute...however, retired to warmer climate now!

Check the list of participating agencies in your area.
In my hometown, small town in Ohio, there is a director who gets a meager salary, but rest are volunteers. I always designated Boy scouts and the local food bank.

Easy to say don't fly. But when you have family spread from AZ to Ohio to Louisiana you really have no choice. Cannot spend days on the road.

Sorry, but I agree with this 100%.
My daughter works in a level one NICU and the crack babies are so very sad. The same women keep showing up with another child needing months of hospital care and looking to a life of health problems if they even survive. Most don’t that come in real premature, and the time and emotion the staff puts in to try to sustain life is overwhelming.
    These NICU people are angels

There were young children killed and injured, and sometimes it is best to reserve any further comment...I pray for them, wherever they are from.

And do we know? Maybe they were returning to LA from a trip to Mexico. Local news here in PHX has not said. Compassion is called for either way.

A lot of ignorance in these replies. MANY Arizona seniors cross into some border towns that are actually quite welcoming and safe. One such town is Algadones, which grew to support the YUMA snowbird crowds, and now people from all over the state travel there for dental care, eye care, and pharmacies. With the internet, a fake dentist or one who gives poor service does not stay in business long. Many speak English.

My husband and I save over $3000 per year ( for the past 6 years) by making 2 annual visits there for medications and routine teeth cleaning and any time we need new glasses. We are not old enough for Medicare and are self insured, so we save everywhere we can.

Let’s face it. Obama won Ohio because of Cleveland and Cincinnati.Columbus was close. ALL RURAL AREAS WENT FOR MCAIN/PALIN. Like every other state. To keep the urban masses poor and uneducated is the goal of dems and it is working.

Here is the latest from our ladies league. YES WE ARE FRIENDS
    WE NEED YOUR HELP!

    AS OF DEC 4 7pm

In spite of all of our efforts there are no leads

A fellow NINER, LESLIE WIDYNOWSKI was reported to the local police as a missing person early Wednesday, December 2.

Initially it was thought that she had gone out on an errand in preparation for an upcoming golf gathering.

To date there is no activity on any of her credit cards or debit card. A national alert has been put out to all hospitals, her credit card companies, highway patrol, and borders. A helicopter has flown over the area in search of Leslie and her car. There has been no sign of foul play. It is thought by the detectives working on the case, that perhaps Leslie became disoriented as she had been suffering with some flu like symtoms.

Ken and Leslie have a group of about 20 people that they golf with every Friday, and everyone has been driving around town checking the parking lots, shopping centers and hospitals looking for her car. Leslie is driving a silver Lexus 4-door sedan Alberta Canada Plate #TZU905. As you are out and about, please watch for this car on the street and in parking lots.
We are all at a loss as to how she could have disappeared!

PLEASE IF ANY ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ,

    CONTACT Detective Tidd of the City of Surprise Police Department;

Detective Tidd’s phone number is 623-670-9760.

    Dear Sun City Grand Residents,

A fellow resident needs your help.

Leslie Widynowski a Sun City Grand Resident is missing and has been since early yesterday. Photo of Leslie.

Yesterday when Mr. Widynowski arrived home he found cookbooks open on the kitchen counter and his wife, Leslie and their vehicle were missing.

He arrived home around 3 p.m. He assumed she had gone to the grocery store. She never returned.

Mr. Widynowski contacted the police to report his wife missing. All their friends began searching for her, by searching parking lots on Bell Road and Grand Avenue and hospitals. There are no known medical conditions that would cause her to become disoriented or lost. They found no signs of her. Their car is a silver Lexus 4-door sedan Alberta Canada Plate #TZU905. As you are out and about, please watch for this car on the street and in parking lots. If you think you have seen her, seen the car or if you saw anything suspicious near 16323 W. Sandia Park Drive in Mountain View I, please call Detective Tidd of the City of Surprise Police Department; Detective Tidd’s phone is 623-670-9760.

Please print out this information and the picture of Leslie and carry it with you in your travels, lets find Leslie so she can return to her home here in Sun City Grand.

    Executive Director

Well, a topic near and dear to my heart
They call me Bekki Buckeye, as I am an avid Ohio State Alum and Fan

However, I retired (Younger than most!) in my early 50’s and now am a resident of Arizona. We were fortunate to sell our business before the major downturns, but Ohio is the MOST unfriendly business environment. In addition, we could not afford to remain Ohio residents and retire. We have our place back there but we are only there June-October so we can go to “The Shoe” a few times each year.

Taxes are outrageous, utility costs in the upper 20% of the nation and unions have run all prosperous manufacturing concerns right out of the state....first to the “sunbelt” about 20 years ago and now overseas.

I cannot for the life of me understand WHAT ARE THEY THINKING????
