So...now what is he going to steel from Mr. Newt. Even Romney is taking some of Mr. Newt’s talking points. Second fiddle, will always be second fiddle.

Mr. Newt is the answer, as he has always been! I am with Mr. Newt until he becomes the nominee. Hopefully, America will open their eyes before it is too late! If not, Mr. Newt will win it in Tampa! OK...flame away!

    Excellent! I love the sign.

Christy is trying to dress up his resume for the VP slot that Romney will hand him. Nothing more. We are in real trouble if Romney takes the nomination prior to the Convention. The Convention is our only hope now! Santorum just stunk the nomination process up with his insistence that he is the only Conservative. He learned a great deal from Mr. Newt, but also left a great deal on the table that he did not learn. I cannot even watch him anymore. Can you imagine what 4 years of Santorum would be like? Can you imagine what 4 years of Romney would be like?

I can certainly imagine what 4 years of Mr. Newt would be like...major change and major reform and a massive heart attack for the establishment. Can't you just see those bozos in Washington doing the Washington two-step to keep Mr. Newt out? It would be sweet just watching them react to Mr. Newt getting the nod from WE THE PEOPLE and not from them. I can't wait! It must happen!

Mr. Newt is still in this...don’t be fooled by Santorum. He has presented no concrete ideas as to reforming the massive mess in Washington. He was part of the downfall after Mr. Newt left.

Santorum in not the solution, but I appreciate him slowing Mitt down. The convention will be the nominating answer, and Santorum will not be the nominee.

Something stinks in this story. I get the feeling that Adelson is pulling some strings behind the scenes, for Gingrich or against him? I have a good eye for bulls$$t when I see it and this stinks to high heaven. Is Adelson on Gingrich’s side, or for his own best interests?

There is more to this story than meets the eye, I just don’t know what it is. The establishment and their boy Romney are really getting desperate. Just who are they trying to take out? Santorum or Newt? I feel there is a slight of hand going on here and I thought you all might have some answers.

Your negative thoughts are not appreciated! Moon base will be created by China, or Russia, or Iran...is that what you want? When Kennedy proposed going to the moon in the 60’s...they all laughed, even those in his own party. Where is your imagination? You obviously have no vision past tomorrow!

Mr. Newt was not proposing that we as taxpayers pay for it. He proposed offering prizes, put up by visionary thinkers, commercial companies, and others. You obviously only hear what you want to hear. You must be a Santorum or Romney or Paul supporter. So go away and get out of this thread!

I too will stand with Mr. Newt until the end. Additionally, I believe that even Romney's delegates would like to find a way out of even their first ballot vote. I also think Santorum will eventually crash and burn through his own ignorance and foot and mouth disease.

I did not realize Sarah made calls for him in Louisiana. That Sarah, she is quite a lady. If she won't give up on Mr. Newt, neither will I. I venture to believe that most of us here at FreeRepublic will also not give up on him.

He has magnificent skills in putting out his bold ideas and at the same time confronting the big problems with common sense solutions.

I wish voters would vote their hearts, that is what the primary contests are for. Romney is so boring and Santorum is just not able to relate the right tone, as he seems angry all the time. Mr. Newt was accused of that angry tone, but I never once saw it. I still think Santorum will slip up one too many times, and supporters that are fearful of Romney will come over to Mr. Newt.

It won’t happen in the delegate count. It will happen at the Convention. Santorum is not ready to lead this nation and Romney can’t pull it together before the Convention. Neither have a National campaign to pull this nation together. If the Republican establishment thinks we are all going to roll over and support Romney, they are dead wrong. At some point, someone needs to tell Romney he has lost this nominee battle, but he has too much invested this time around to drop out. If Santorum drops out, I believe he will support Romney for the VP slot, as he was a traitor last time around, and I see no evidence that he would not do it again. Maybe, just maybe, he could be convinced to throw his support to Mr. Newt, but I would not hold my breath on that one. Santorum is an opportunist and will bale on conservatism and go with Romney for the VP slot.

Mr. Newt is too smart to choose Santorum as a VP running mate. Who could trust him? There are some evangelical conservatives that simply will not support Romney due to the Mormon religion. I know that no one wants to bring that up, but it is out there.

Mr. Newt is the only qualified Conservative to bring this country back from the brink of self-destruction.

Thank you, and I accept your apology. I too probably owe you an apology for my directness. I so strongly want Mr. Newt to be our nominee, that I get angry with those that do not see him for what he is, a true leader that can repeat the successes he had while speaker, and bring some sanity to this incredible situation our country has found herself in. The true sign of a man is one that can admit his mistakes, learn from them and become wiser. I feel Mr. Newt is deserving of respect for admitting his mistakes and the wisdom to put his entire life out in the public for scrutiny. How many of us would be willing to do the same thing? I believe he is unselfishly laying his reputation and dignity on the line for WE THE PEOPLE. Maybe that sounds a little corny doesn't it? What has happened to our society?

I think we all get passionate about our candidates from time to time. For the last year and a half we have all been told Romney is the only one who can beat Obama, so much so that those who follow the headlines are backing him out of a sense of foolishness. We here at FreeRepublic feel differently. I also think we all want the same thing, to take back the White House from a president who has set out to destroy our country. Obama is our true opponent. When the time comes to back our nominee, we will remember our first and foremost goal.

I only hope that that nominee is Mr. Newt. He is, however, the one that takes the fight directly to Obama and the bias media, and is the only one that Obama argues with through that media. I hope he does well in Louisiana despite what the media wants us to believe.

“THEN you are mentally defective and shouldn’t be voting anyway.” And you, have not done your homework. Santorum was one of the biggest spenders during his years in the Senate. He voted for big labor projects, and liberal proposals as well. On FreeRepublic you can find a very good list of his “so called accomplishments” which I do not consider conservative. Just think about how the good ole boys in the Senate will lead him around by the nose, McCain, Graham, McConnell. We need a leader that is not intimidated by the big boys to clean up the mess in Washington as well as take out Obama.

Santorum or Romney would be better than Obama, but then you would still just be managing the decay in the Senate and House. Neither have the leadership qualities to get the job done. I’m sorry you have to resort to call your advisories mentally defective. I know many, many people who should not be voting, but I am very astute as to Santorum and Romney’s misdirection and slick ways. They will lie to obtain what they want and then turn around and do exactly what they lied about to achieve their goals.

They are both probably very fine men and good husbands, even gentle in the mannerisms. That they probably have over Mr. Newt. Mr. Newt’s personal problems happened a long time ago, and if people are using that as an excuse, they are simply misguided. However, we need a fighter this time around, with an intense knowledge of how the legislative process works, and are very aware of how the rules will work to their advantage, in order to take out Obama. As much as I would like to believe that Santorum or Romney could do the job, neither of them are capable of handling the bias media onslaught that will come their way. McCain and Dole were the same way. Bush had a little more grit, but turned out to be a big-spending republican with power hungry colleges.

I don’t believe you should be calling me names, but that rolls off my back. I am a gentle grandmother with a very good intellect. I know a slick politician when I see one, and I recognize insincerity in people. Mr. Newt is not perfect, however, I will take his imperfections over Santorum or Romney any day. He at least is man enough to admit when he has made a mistake. God will judge him in the end, because that is not our job. Who in their right mind would want to tackle the problems created by not only this president, but also by the problems created by a weak Senate, and an even weaker House. The conservatives voted in by the wave in 2010 in the House are making a good stand, but they are being rolled by the entrenched politicians in both parties. Grow up whoever you are, and present a solid argument for your candidate, which you have not.

I am very happy he is staying in. Santorum and Romney cannot win against Obama. Open your eyes. Who is Obama fighting with in the media? The answer in case you hadn’t noticed in Mr. Newt. I try not to post on Santorum’s threads, I leave those to Santorum’s supporters. Please have the respect to not belittle Mr. Newt on his threads.

I think the Republican establishment really believes we will all fall in place like good Republicans behind Romney. However, I believe they are sadly mistaken. I have been watching Real Clear Politics, and Mr. Newt has come up from 13% a few days ago to 15% yesterday and today 15.7. Slow and steady, true to his beliefs, and solid in his solutions for America. I hope and pray he will somehow find a way to reach into the hearts and minds of the electorate and win them over. I would love to see Sarah help him more outright. There must be a good reason she hasn’t stepped out, but perhaps it is that she feels she would hurt him somehow. I pray she will find a way to help if she can. I believe it is now in the hands of God. Santorum and Romney will not win against Obama and the next four years will be absolute hell right here on earth. WE THE PEOPLE need a fighter and one that is not timid toward the elite and bias media. I so want to vote for Mr. Newt in November...a vote of pride, not the lesser of two evils.

Mr. Newt is already calling on Romney and Santorum to stop the negative ads and concentrate on their own positive visions. Mr. Newt is the leading voice in this strategy and I would urge your candidate of choice to do the same. Show us your visions for America and past achievements in which accomplish those visions. Stop the ridicule of each other and focus only on defeating Obama.

Mr. Newt is already being called a whiner for suggesting that Romney and Santorum stop the negative ads. Mr. Newt is already working toward this very strategy. The Tea Party could make all the difference, but they too are split. How they could be supporting Romney is beyond me. “These threads have convinced me that the collective IQ of Free Republic has dropped about 30 points since I first started posting here in 1998.” Well, maybe its time to look elsewhere for your mean postings.

And the Santorum supporters have not added one increase in IQ due to their blind support for a candidate that is not qualified for President, and tries to convince Newt supporters that they are blind and stupid. Fiscally conservative is not what defines Romney or Santorum. Try again.

There are a great many laws that are not being enforced, however, the ones that Santorum wants to focus on are only those that support his sanctimonious positions. Santorum continues to lie about Mr. Newt and continues to misstate his positions. He is no better than Romney in that respect.

Mr. Newt has made many mistakes, both personally and professionally. He admits those mistakes and has learned from them, asked God for forgiveness. Santorum continues to make excuses for his mistakes, no admission, and has certainly has not learned from them. Santorum’s own words in support of Romney is enough for me to never trust him.

I could vote for Santorum if he somehow pulls off his conservative snow job. I will hold my nose and pull the lever. However, I would like to be proud of my vote, and know that if Mr. Newt gets the nomination he could actually win the election, defeat Obama, and clean up the mess the republican establishment has created since he left office. Santorum was part of that establishment for numerous years and likes to take credit for accomplishments he should not be proud of, as well as some he just takes credit for. He is not an honest man, just an establishment crony. Yes, he has had a good marriage, and seems to be a very good husband (and sometimes I question that), but that does not make him qualified to be President.

EAGLES UP FOR MR. NEWT! VICTORY OR DEATH was the cry then, and is the cry for Newt supporters.

Great article. You damn right he should stay in. Obama’s recent attacks on Mr. Newt should tell you all you need to know. Has Romney or Santorum given good enough arguments that Obama’s fighting with them? NO.

I have heard over and over that Republicans refuse to work with or compromise on issues with Democrats. Mr. Newt has made an effort to make strides with the voters that the Democrats have brainwashed into thinking Republicans don't fight for minorities. He has made attempts to bring his point of view to many of the liberal ideas. Maybe it hasn't worked, but how can you fault him for making an effort to bring conservative ideas to the argument?

Democrats are genius's at making Republicans look like fools on just about every subject, and Republicans seem to make the same mistakes over and over. Republicans wanted to fix FannieMae and FreddieMac, but they lost every time due to the House and Senate. How can they do that if they never attempt to work with Democrats? Liberals shy away from facts, they just will not accept that Republicans have a different method of tackling these problems. I agree working with Nancy Pelosi may have been a bad idea, but I think he was right to try to influence the conversation with conservative ideas on the subject. I don't know all the facts about each of these cases, but I also do not believe his heart was in the wrong place by trying.

Mr. Newt was able to convince a great many Democrats to go along with many of his proposals when he was speaker. Even had to step on a few Republican toes to do it, which is why some Republicans still have their panties in a twist. Bush worked with Kennedy on No Child Left Behind. I am sure Santorum worked with many liberals on union projects because he is such a union representative. Are you going to hold that against him? Look at his voting record. Romney worked with an 85% liberal legislature, and look what happened in Massachusetts. He touts his record all the time about working with liberals. However, you only hold Mr. Newt to his record, how about theirs?

Mr. Newt will all his faults is still the most qualified to be President. Are you saying that he never worked on Conservative causes? How ignorant can you possibly be? You should take the time to watch the video “Newt Gingrich and the Republican Revolution” and then tell me he did not progress the conservative party on every issue. How about taking control of the House after 40 years of Democratic control? Get off your high horse and come back down to reality. Do your research. And by the way, Mr. Newt did not support cap and trade as Santorum continues to say. He also did not lobby for FannieMae and FreddieMac, another lie.

That is Santorum’s problem, he thinks Government has the answer for everything. What's next, will he suggest burning books, more government intrusion into the private lives of FREE Americans. I certainly agree the pornography is a problem, however, so is an intruding government that thinks they can legislate absolutely everything. Just let him keep talking and he will begin to sound like Obama.

Oh I forgot about all those intrusive bills he has already authored, and some he just thinks he can author to “save” all us sinners.

By the way, maybe he and Karen should consider all the time they are spending away from their precious daughter. I don't mean that in a harsh way, so lay off you next ugly post. I just think if Bella is truly living on borrowed time, God would want him not to waste one minute away from her, especially on a political run. Time is so precious, it gets away from all of us. Rick and Karen are spending a great deal of time away from that sweet baby, and I just keep asking myself if it is worth it.

Politics is not worth wasting the time they could be spending with that precious child. GOD bless Bella and her family. I have her in my prayers daily. I also think Bella is just about the sweetest name I have ever heard. I wish I would of thought of that name when I had my daughter.

Christie...you are one hell of a woman! I have been so discouraged from time to time, truly, but I come back to FreeRepublic, see your posts, and know I am not crazy for supporting Mr. Newt with such a big heart. Somehow, some way, Mr. Newt will find a way to scratch his way back to the top. As long as he does not quit, neither will we.

Obama is not paying attention to Romney or Santorum because they say so little that is interesting. I call it political two-steppin. No bold ideas, just ridicule for Mr. Newt's ideas. Then, you see Santorum taking on Mr. Newt's comparisons about the contrasts in this election. Does Santorum really think we are stupid and don't know what he is doing.

Someone presented the question if we could handle a Romney/Gingrich ticket. I had to laugh, and of course I could not resist saying that Mr. Newt would not take 2nd seat to Romney. And I know for a fact that Romney will never have the opportunity because Mr. Newt is going to whip his butt long before he gets the nomination.

Like I said, I don't know how, or even when, but I feel it in my heart. I have been wrong in the past, so I quite often remember my mother's words: “make your words sweet, because you will eat a lot of them in your lifetime.” As usual, she was right!

Thanks again for giving me a boost whenever I read your posts. Us Mama Grizzly’s have to stick together! EAGLES UP MR. NEWT!!! God bless you all here on FreeRepublic.

I just sent an Email to Mr. Newt through: NewtGingrich@email.humanevents.com

I sent him your suggestion with a note to follow FreeRepublic and all his supporters. I think it is an outstanding, BIG AND BOLD IDEA, which only Mr. Newt could pull off.

Santorum is going to self-destruct very soon, and his supporters will take another look at Mr. Newt before they will go to Romney. I will sit the election out if Romney is the nominee. I discussed it with my husband and he feels the same way. The media has already begun to direct their negativity towards Santorum and Romney on religious grounds. It will be reasonably subtle at first, but it will be effective. The closer we get to the election, it will get worse. Pastor Rick just does not have what it takes to handle the onslaught from the media. He will stumble badly, just as he did in Puerto Rico calling for English only. How stupid can anyone be? Romney cannot begin to explain Mormonism to those who refuse to believe it is not a cult. I do not know enough about it to make an argument, but that is not why I can’t support him. It is kind of like Obama being black. I could care less what the color of his skin is, it is what is in his mind and heart. Romney feels he is deserving of the Presidency because he paid his dues in 2008, and it is his turn in the establishment’s eyes.

Not again, our party cannot deal with another loss this time around, and Romney and Santorum will be just another McLame election, and I just cannot support Romney. Santorum might not be quite as bad, however, the establishment will run him like a wide-up clock. Nothing will change and he does not have what it takes to win. Now, you Santorum supporters do not have to barrage me with your negative crap. I know how you feel, you are just misguided and of the belief that Mr. Newt cannot win. You are wrong.

Talk is cheap Sarah, really cheap. Where were you and your voice when Romney was destroying Mr. Newt? Where were you when we called for your help and your voice to stand behind the most brilliant man in this race? You have voiced your support in little ways, but never with a full endorsement. Where is your courage? We all understood when you did not jump into the race for WE THE PEOPLE because your family came first. We understand your hesitancy in doing the right thing because of what the media will say and do, and how it would affect your family. Well, they are continuing to destroy you anyway, you might as well jump head first into the fight.

WE THE PEOPLE know that our country will not survive with Obama as our president for four more years. Romney is a fine man, but part of the same Republican establishment you have been fighting for years (look at his supporters). Santorum was part of that same Republican establishment for all the years he was in the Senate, and his “so called” conservative voting record tells us all we need to know about how he will lead the country. He even endorsed Romney against McCain. How will he cut the very programs that gave us the economy we have now, thanks in no part, to the current Republican establishment.

Mr. Newt is the only candidate left in this race that loves this country as much as you do, and can save it through his bold energy plan, his new 21st Century Contract With America, along with his plans to cut spending, cut government, and clean up the financial mess that this President and the Republican establishment (McCain included) go us into. Breitbart stood up for you, when not one of those Republican “eunuchs” would, remember? You say you can influence the country with your words without a title.

“Brietbart was fearless at a time when too many people are afraid and are retreating. Courage inspires courage. Fearlessness emboldens others to follow your lead.” Did you mean those words? If so, it is time you showed the same courage and come out of the shadows and fight for Mr. Newt. NOW is the time, or we will suffer through four more years of the hell that this President is creating.

Why is it that you Santorum people have to be so cruel and personal with your criticisms? I was called foul names the other night and I just do not understand that.

I will vote for Santorum if he is the winner, I will even vote for Romney. Both votes will be again, the lesser of two evils. Not that Romney or Santorum are evil, but they simply cannot win against Obama’s machine. Neither have the balls to take it to the mat! There is simply no other way to say it. Do you see Obama fighting with either Romney or Santorum? No. Because what they say is worth nothing to him or the democrat party. You see him fighting with Mr. Newt and his plans, because he knows Newt has the winning ideas. That in itself should tell you everything you need to know as to who would be the best to go up against Obama. However, somehow you are so blind against Newt, that you cannot see how magnificent he would be not only for our country, but for our sorry party.

Not for one minute have I ever seen that Mr. Newt is in this for himself or because of his ego. He had a lucrative life before Romney tried to destroy him, and he will have a lucrative life after because he is brilliant. His plans and policies are exactly what this country needs, and if you do not see that, I feel sorry for you.

Just quit being so mean. It is not necessary or warranted.

Victory or Death...that must be the call for Newt supporters. To hell with the establishment, to hell with the media, to hell with the moderates. Newt will continue the fight and rise to overtake the calls for him to get out. It is not going to be easy, but then I doubt Mr. Newt thought that when he got in. This is the man that created and delivered Republicans to take over the House in 94 when everyone thought it was impossible.

Stand and fight, don't loose faith. Mr. Newt will fight for victory for all of us. He is the most powerful and he is the one the dems are fighting. Did you hear Biden’s speech today. Like Santorum, he too is steeling Mr. Newt's comparison and contrast theory. I will not give up on him, my donations to his campaign are on a monthly basis and I will increase those donations next month.

I invested wisely and must be patient to watch my investments pay off. Good investments take time. EAGLES UP MR. NEWT...VICTORY OR DEATH!

I am not giving up until Mr. Newt gives up! I can't, America's future is at stake and we simply cannot leave this to the establishment's choice for us.
