We have friends who are in the same situation. They have been looking for months and months for insurance coverage. Their son has a potentially life threatening disease that requires very specialized doctors, pharmacy and treatment coverage etc. It is next to impossible to find a plan that has he coverage they need.

It is speculation to assume that Cruz doesn’t have coverage yet because of “sloth”. You have no idea what efforts have and have not been made to find adequate insurance coverage for his family and it is not right to say things that you have no proof about.

From a blog by financial author Robert Ringer

There’s something about Thanksgiving that brings back memories of my childhood, more so even than Christmas. I consider myself to be blessed to have lived in America when it was a symbol of stability and freedom to people everywhere.

As the world continues its sociological supernova, I find myself increasingly saddened by the fact that none of my children will ever have the opportunity to experience the America of my youth. Make no mistake about it, computers, smartphones, and all the other space-age technology that we take for granted are wonderful tools. They make things so much more convenient and entertaining, but, as with everything in life, there’s a tradeoff.

Actually, there are many tradeoffs, but the most glaring one is the loss of innocence. I’ve long maintained that the 1950s were the pinnacle of America’s greatness — not militarily, but sociologically. And looking at it more objectively today, I believe a big part of that innocence was made possible by ignorance — blissful, mind-numbing ignorance.

Of course, there were many people who didn’t share my experience — e.g., not all minorities had the opportunities they enjoy today. But this article isn’t about minorities, justice, or politics. All these are important subjects, to be sure — and millions of articles have been written about them — but they just don’t happen to be the subject of this particular article.

This article is about life as viewed through the eyes of a semi-privileged white kid who believed that Columbus, Ohio was the center of the universe and that both life and youth were eternal. In the 1950s, everything stood still and every day was predictable. My parents, my siblings, my friends, my house, my school, Ohio State football — nothing was ever going to change. Life was static.

It would be impossible for today’s youth to imagine, or understand, the innocence of the 1950s. As far as I knew, drugs didn’t exist in my little version of Peyton Place. Nor was there such a thing as political correctness. And as to gay issues, the only time I ever recall hearing the word gay was in the verse “Don we now our gay apparel.”

Girls? I guess there were a few who were a bit on the risqué side, but the vast majority of them could fit comfortably into a Dick Clark audience — well groomed, prim, and proper. In retrospect, they were almost like automatons — cashmere sweaters, saddle shoes, and short, sculptured hairstyles featuring soft curls and waves.

For me, going to school every day was like walking into a candy store, and I had a really bad sweet tooth.

A couple examples of typical Peyton Place High School girls.
I’m sorry to say that I never got very far with either of them.

Had a girl come to school with an earring attached to any part of her body other than an ear (none ever did), she would have been expelled from school. Pregnancy? The thought never occurred to me until a sophomore girl got pregnant and created one of the biggest scandals in our school’s history. Her expulsion was swift, and it was a one-time event.

Finally, along came Elvis, who unknowingly laid the foundation for the sexual and cultural revolution that was to explode onto the scene in the sixties, and things have never been the same since. But those of us who were raised in the Age of Innocence tended to ignore the steadily increasing base behavior of the sixties, seventies, and eighties, because we were focused on getting ahead in life.

Then, in the nineties, there seemed to be a slowdown in America’s cultural disintegration as the hotshots — led by Bill Gates and Steve Jobs — became the rock stars of a new generation. But in the new century, Americans and the rest of the Western world took the good life for granted and, as a result of the Internet, became so knowledgeable about their “rights” (both real and imagined) that every law, every institution, and every certitude became a protest target.

So here we are, well into the 21st century, and the number-one product America produces is grievance. And it’s greatest collective demand is for more and more “diversity.” These are the two phenomena that most separate the protected little fantasy world I grew up in from today’s unstable, angry, entitlement-based world.

Diversity is a commodity that was in short supply in the fifties, and, as a result, America was a pretty peaceful place. Whether someone was born in Italy, Ireland, China, or India, he assimilated into American culture because he loved the idea of becoming a true American.

I remember one kid in our school who was of Egyptian descent, and he was as American as I was. Ditto with a Chinese classmate of mine who was culturally in synch with everyone else in the class. It was a true melting pot, not a diversity pot.

Now, I can just “hear” some readers thinking, “But doesn’t a lack of diversity make life boring? Why would you want everyone to think alike?” I’m not advocating that people think alike. I’m just saying that when a large majority of a population believes in a generally accepted code of conduct, it results in a more peaceful, more civilized, happier society. That’s a self-evident reality.

By the same token, within a society’s generally accepted code of conduct, it’s fine for everyone to think their own thoughts and have their own opinions — but back in the day, the foundation of most thoughts and opinions was a broad consensus on American values.

That said, as much as I love the life-saving benefits of modern medicine, as much as I love computers and cellphones, as much as I love the instant knowledge at my fingertips via the Internet, I am obliged to admit that I’d give it all up if I could climb into a time capsule and go back to the fifties ─ and most people I’ve talked to from that era have expressed similar sentiments.

The people I feel sorry for are those who never had the opportunity to experience America’s Age of Innocence. Perhaps someday the United States will rise from the ashes and make a comeback that will take it through a similar period all over again. And perhaps our children and grandchildren will be the beneficiaries.

In the meantime, Thanksgiving is still a very special day, so let’s enjoy every minute of it.

They can never know if they are good enough and have done enough good deeds to appease allah and make it to heaven. Killing infidels and dying a martyr are the only ways they can be sure.

They are welcomed with open arms to NYC, why can they not just hop on a bus and come to any of the 37 states which prohibited them from being resettled in those states directly? I hope these Bible verses are an encouragement to you to have courage for continuing to speak the truth. ( you’ve already shown great courage in speaking out and saying the truth). God will be with you! I’ll be praying for you!
Here are a bunch of verses. I wish I was some great scholar but actually I just used Google to pull up a lot of these. :-)

    Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

    Joshua 1:3-9
I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you ... No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

    1 Chronicles 28:20
David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.

    Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

    Psalm 56:3-4
When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?

    Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

    Isaiah 41:13
For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

    Matthew 10:26
Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.

    Matthew 10:28
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

    Romans 8:15
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

    1 Corinthians 16:13
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.

    2 Corinthians 4:7-11
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body.

    Philippians 1:12-14
Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.

    2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

    Hebrews 13:5-6
For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

    1 Peter 3:13-14
Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened.”

    1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

    WPsalm 15:1-2 O LORD, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart;

    Zechariah 8:16 These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace;

Ephesians 4:25 Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.

    Proverbs 12:19 ESV

Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

    Zechariah 8:16 ESV

    These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace;

    Proverbs 28:13 ESV

Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

    Ephesians 4:15 ESV

Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,

    Psalm 5:6 ESV

You destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

    2 Timothy 2:15 ESV

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

    Ephesians 4:25 ESV

Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.

Buchanan was exactly right when he said, Fair Trade, not Free Trade.

Ultimately there wasn’t Free Trade. When China manipulated the whole process in countless ways, the Free Traders remained completely silent.

China demanding our manufacturing process and patent information wasn’t Free-Trade. It was blackmail intended to steal our technology. It manipulating it’s currency to effectively add 40% to our imports, stopped us from exporting to it’s people. China demanding 51% ownership of all businesses, was another clever thing the Free Traitors never complained about.

There should be hell to pay for what they foisted off on our nation. I consider part of it to be full blown treason.

Its a statement of the sodomites complete rebellion in God’s face, that they have taken the sign of God’s judgement for the corruption and wickedness in the world, and then his mercy and promise to never again destroy the earth in that manner. (Don’t they know it will be so much worse for them the next time?)

Genesis 6:5 The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.

    Then after the flood:
11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. 13 And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh,[c] for the earth is filled with violence through them.

6:20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse[a] the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. 22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”
7:14 When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

Thank you for posting. This is important. It draws the line of duty and obedience spelled out in scripture. We are not, as individuals, supposed to just take up arms in rebellion when we believe our government has turned evil. But it is within scripture that we may recognize a lower magistrate as following God and therefore worthy of respect and acknowledgment of their authority vs. a higher magistrate as having become “lawless” themselves and no longer legitimate.

THAT is the ticket- it’s like the story of the Emperor’s new clothes. He got away with it as long as no one would step up and say he had no clothes on.

It’s just a big bluff - and as long as state governors, legislatures, etc go along with it the oligarchy keeps it’s power of subjugation. All we need are a few states to say - enough - you have no jurisdiction here, void it and ignore. What should have been done in Roe V. Wade too.

Then let’s just see them try to enforce it!

Great! Now we need a Governor of any state (name yours) to say, “The Supreme Court has no jurisdiction over this case. The decision is therefore null and void in the state of _____ and will not be enforced.”

I agree with your post. My question to either of you, what are some practical things that could be done to break free of this coup d’état ? My gut feeling is the answer lies in action at the state level, and that if a few states began the correct action they would lead the way to a snowballing effect and more and more would join in. But what exactly should states do to start unraveling this mess? I don’t mean little stop gap measures like what have been done in Texas and other states to protect civil servants on this one issue, ... I mean big, far reaching, tide turning kinds of changes that can put a halt on these judicial pronouncements that are effectively overturning our constitution as well as the voted will of the people in many states on issues of huge importance.

    The letter

Jane and Jill were studying in their college dorm room. The RA knocked, entered and gave the mail to Jane. Jane looked at the envelope and exclaimed with excitement. The letter was from Mr. “It”. Both coeds were all atwitter as, with shaking hands, Jane tore open the envelope and began to read.

Jill waited in anticipation. Finally - Jill asked, “Well! What did he say?”

Clutching the letter to her heart, Jane replied, “He loves me!”

In truth, Mr. “It” had written all about his football practice. Jane was reading into his words what she wanted to hear.

Can you see that she might as well have written the letter to herself, if she was not going to read it as the writer had intended. By spinning her own interpretation, she destroyed the value and purpose of the letter.

It is the same thing when a judge or lawyer seeks to spin the meaning of a law, rather than researching and understanding the intent of those who wrote and ratified the law. That is why history is important. There are lots of articles written about most laws at the time they were ratified. That history, not today’s interpretations and norms, give the law its authority.

Speaking of authority – Like it or not, all authority originates with God. God gave “We the people” inalienable authority over our choices, within the laws of nature and of nature’s God. “We the people” chose to grant part of our authority to a government that “We the people” created. Government authority exists within the limits that “We the people” established.
Those limits, in turn, must lie within the limits of the laws of nature and of nature’s God. That is – “We the people” cannot grant what we don’t have. Our God-given authority is limited by the laws of nature and of nature’s God. Any law outside those limits is tyranny and has no authority. Such a law is to be considered as no law at all. The Supreme Court had no authority to define marriage. It is already defined by the laws of nature and of nature’s God.

Some might say, “Well, that is fine for you, but I don’t believe in God, therefore His laws don’t apply to me.” Try breaking the “Golden Rule” and stomping on someone’s toe. See how you like the consequences. Doing unto others as you would have others do unto you is one of the laws of nature and of nature’s God. When you choose an action, you choose a consequence - - - regardless of what you believe!

“Meaning of law.—Law, in its most general and comprehensive sense, signifies a rule of action; and is applied indiscriminately to all kinds of action, whether animate or inanimate, rational or irrational. Thus we say, the laws of motion, of gravitation, of optics, or mechanics, as well as the laws of nature and of nations. And it is that rule of action, which is prescribed by some superior, and which the inferior is bound to obey. …

“Man, considered as a creature, must necessarily be subject to the laws of his Creator, for he is entirely a dependent being. A being independent of any other, has no rule to pursue, but such as he prescribes to himself; but a state of dependence will inevitably oblige the inferior to take the will of him, on whom he depends, as the rule of his conduct; not indeed in every particular, but in all those points wherein his dependence consists. This principle, therefore, has more or less extent and effect, in proportion as the superiority of the one and the dependence of the other is greater or less, absolute or limited. And consequently, as man depends absolutely upon his Maker for everything, it is necessary that he should in all points conform to his Maker’s will.”

I’m borrowing two points that seem to answer this:

This... is the law in Kentucky

Ky. Rev. Stat. 402.020(1)(d) Marriage between members of the same sex is prohibited and void

    USSC in Obergefell held:

“The Court, in this decision, holds same-sex couples may exercise the fundamental right to marry in all States. It follows that the Court also must hold - and it now does hold - that there is no lawful basis for a State to refuse to recognize a lawful same-sex marriage performed in another State on the ground of its same-sex character.”

For the moment I will stipulate to this part: “there is no lawful basis for a State to refuse to recognize a lawful same-sex marriage performed in another State on the ground of its same-sex character”

    Here is the error:
“The Court, in this decision, holds same-sex couples may exercise the fundamental right to marry in all States.”

This commandeers the legislative process of the States. There is no fundamental right to legal recognition of any grouping of persons assembled for whatever purpose.

    Judges are not Legislators.

She is following Kentucky law. The Supreme court does not write law, they issued an opinion. The State of Kentucky has a law in effect, passed by overwhelming majority that marriage is to be between one man and one woman. So she is doing her duty and following the law.

It’s a no win. You can’t say she’s within her rights then say we need to get rid of sanctuary cities. If you are a public official you carry out the law. If you don’t agree with the law resign.

    I completely disagree!

She is upholding Kentucky law. It doesn’t matter what the Supreme Court said - there is no Kentucky law mandating same sex marriage. And the Supreme Court did not write a new law for her to follow, they cant do that. They give opinions, they don’t legislate law. So she is actually obeying existing Kentucky law which is very explicit.

While there ARE immigration laws being broken, and any official not enforcing those are breaking their oaths and duties. So I don’t see how being against what happened to Mrs. Clark means you have to be ok with sanctuary cities.

“Said he didn’t know anything about it. Lie.

He actually said he didn’t know enough about the story to comment.”

I respect that position (as long as he comes up to speed quickly and doesn’t just blow it off.) There are important moral and constitutional questions being raised by this terrible action of this judge, and I hope Trump will consult with great constitutional scholars (Ted Cruz, Jay Sekulow), and get his facts straight before speaking out. Because this issue is a defining moment in religious liberty, and in the continued loss of constitutional separation of powers between state and fedgov. Once I do, I hope he takes on the correct side and comes out swinging.
