    THE SUBMARINER’S PRAYER

O Father, Hear our prayer to thee
    For your humble servants
    Beneath the sea

In the depths of oceans, as oft they stray
So far from night, so far from day
We would ask your guiding light to glow
To make their journey safe below

Please oft times grant them patient mind
Then ‘ere the darkness won’t them blind
They seek thy protection from the deep
Please grant them peace when ‘ere they sleep

Of their homes and loved ones far away
We ask you care for them each day
    Until they surface once again
To drink the air and feel the rain

We ask your guiding hand to show
A safe progression sure and slow.
Dear Lord, please hear our prayer to thee,
    For your humble servants
    Beneath the sea.

    Amen

    Let him forge those records.

I’ve always thought we would not win in the courts on the BC issue; we would win in the court of public opinion and we have.

We already have a Columbia professor of history and politics on record saying Obama is completely unknown to him and he’s taught numerous president during his tenure at Columbia. If Obama fakes his college records we will have enough people come out of the woodwork saying they can not remember him or he was simply not in the class he claimed to have been in.

Another win in the court of public opinion.

If everything was right in the world, no person, regardless of who they are or who they know, could run for president without the press demanding they release every single piece of information related to their past travel, education, finances, marriages etc etc.

Just as the feds do to anyone else applying for a position.

So Romney is supposed to pander to the Latino vote because Obama just tried to buy them off?

Isn’t one of the biggest complaints we have with the GOP is their inability lead? Their almost insane belief that the Dems must lead and they will follow behind, barely putting on any brakes?

Rubio is a good guy and much more conservative than he is given credit for on here and I do believe he would make a good VP. Announcing his place on the ticket right now will be twisted as a failed attempt at one-upmanship on behalf of Romney and used by the media to claim racism at every single turn.

    Bad idea this guy has.

I had the same thoughts. I can imagine a union, after polling their members who are not on board, publicly saying they are not supporting Obama. Behind the scenes is a different story.

Unions receive too much protection from the Dems to bail on them. They also don’t care if they use their dues against the wishes of their members as long as publicly they can say “we didn’t do that”.

Well you have the basic story down but your facts are completely wrong.

Baton Rouge La, in 1984, Jody Plauché, then an 11 year old boy, was taking karate lessons from one Jeffrey Doucet, a pedophile, who was 25 at the time. The boy was eventually kidnapped by Doucet and taken to a motel in California. The police launched a nationwide search to find the boy.

Doucet was found after making a collect call to his mother and taken into custody. Jody was returned to his family while Doucet was extradited to La to face a ton of charges.

Leon “Gary” Plauché, Jody’s father, learned the time and airlines that Doucet would be arriving at the Baton Rouge airport from a police officer on the Baton Rouge PD. He arrived early, pretended to be part of the crowd and when the Doucet was being escorted off the plane, Plauche’ put a bullet into his head. One less pedophile walked the earth.

Plauche’ was indicted by a Grand Jury on 1st degree murder charges and went to trial. The charges were eventually dropped down to manslaughter to which Plauche’ pled “no contest”. The jury found him guilty and sentenced him to 10 years suspended and 5 years probation.

Yes, Plauche’ was found “guilty” and he was sentenced. He did not get off scott free as many people thought he should have been. His plea on “no contest” probably had something to do with that although the jury could have simply pulled an OJ and through nullification let Plauche’s completely off.

His son Jody has written extensively about his childhood, the molestation and kidnapping and his father’s case. A quick google search on his name will bring you more information than I have posted on here as well as a book Jody Plauche’s wrote about the case. He has his own website (where I believe he’s some sort of radio personality now) at http://www.jodyplauche.com/

While I have to agree with you that a president somehow “vetoing” a spending cut would be impossible constitutionally; when I look at Obama’s history, I would not put it past him.

Taking over industries and demanding private owned stocks be given to union members without compensation? Never heard of but done by Obama.

Recess appointments when the Senate is still in session? Unconstitutional but Obama did it and nobody has done anything to stop him.

Illegally running guns to gangs and drug dealers in a foreign country, causing the death of thousands of foreigners and at least two Americans. Unheard of but committed under Obama without a finger lifted to even admonish him.

I put nothing past Obama as he feels the constitution and the rule of law is beneath him. Furthermore, our elected representatives have proven themselves to be spineless when it comes to standing up against our tyrant in chief.

I can see Obama figuring out a way to “veto” spending cuts and doing it with the House and Senate sitting on their thumbs allowing him to destroy yet another part of our constitution.

I fully understand your position. When it became obvious that Romney was going to be the GOP candidate my opinion was I’d rather have my enemy in front of me, where I know what he is going to do so I can prepare for it - instead of having my enemy behind me, stabbing me in the back every other day. If we can not change the tide with someone as despicable as Obama in the White House then when will we? When we have a less reprehensible Democrat in office?

After much thought and reflection, I still feel this way but I also understand that not voting or voting 2nd party or worse, voting for Obama assures the destruction of this country.

I will not continue helping Obama and progressives destroy all that works, is good, patriotic and exceptional about the United States.

I will also not slam those who would rather spit nails than cast a vote for Romney - I understand this, fully.

In the end though, I know when I’m standing in the voting booth, I will end up voting for Romney; not because I support him, agree with him, or believe his record is that much better or different than the “wons”. I have to consider Supreme Court picks, I have to consider coat-tails, I have to consider Romney if nothing else, understands capitalism and why it is above and beyond the most successful economic policy that has every existed and ever will.

Yes, I’ll hold my nose, choke down the vomit and circle the bubble in for Romney. I can only pray he brings in other Republicans into the Senate allowing us to take it. I pray his coat-tails will be big enough so we keep the House. I pray his supreme court picks will not include such vulgar, disgusting, anti-American jurists as Kagen and Sotomayor (who, admittingly has surprised me).

If nothing else, I will know I have not help put Obama into office for four more years - and in the end, that would be worse for this nation than anything a huge RINO like Romney could or would do to this nation.

That a truce has been called on FR, finally, is good. Face facts people Romney, whether we like it or not, is the candidate. We either have four more years of Obama or him. Those are our choice.

Nobody says we have to get on the Romney bandwagon and shouts his praises from the rooftops. Nobody is saying we have to even like the guy (I don’t), nobody says we can’t debate where his weaknesses are. Simply put, we either come together, not in support of Romney, but as Conservatives and make sure we do all we can to remove Obama and his fellow progressives out of office AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT.

FR is one way of doing this - it also allows us to pass along other ways of helping accomplish this goal.

This is it people, we have four years to turn our country back into the United States or get ready to surrender or go to war (figuratively not literally). I refuse to surrender.

There are fathers-rights attorney’s out there, some very good ones in fact. The problem is most father’s are so screwed over by the courts, financially and otherwise, they no longer have the funds to begin to pay a retainer; leaving many men with no representation or attempting to fight the system Pro Se.

What has happened in our nations Family Courts is a complete crime. Men are continually turned into non-entities, removed of the rights of a parent and legally termed visitors in their child’s lives where all contact is determined from the bench, left up to the mother to allow and rarely is a mother held in contempt of court for refusing visitation, phone calls etc.

Although every single statistics proves women are the higher percentage of parents who fail to pay child support, it is rare to find a women, regardless of the amount she owes, end up in jail or even have her face plastered on dead-beat lists designed to humiliate a parent.

Courts can determine the amount a man SHOULD be making, not what he literally is making then use that figure to determine support. Even in this economy where highly qualified people are forced to take lower positions, with much lower salaries, hundreds of thousands of men are being charged a monthly support payment that often is more than they bring in a month. Even when a man can achieve a reduction in support (as you mentioned) it does not erase the arrears that continually accrue interest and penalties making it virtually impossible to pay off. While this was done to prevent parents from taking lower paying employment to lessen their support obligation, that is a rare occurrence. Instead, men who have no other option but to take a lower paying job, while facing the prices of everything increasing, are harmed. Currently the laws do not allow a judge to reduce the amount of arrears owed for any reason whatsoever. Unless a man can prove fraud, they are at the mercy of the courts, sometimes for life.

But it isn’t only the courts that are the problem; there is a huge problem in the way society looks at divorced/non-married men with a child(ren). When a couple is together and one party loses a job or they face some other form of financial emergency, society is perfectly accepting of the family tightening their belts, doing with less and giving their children less, as long as the basics are covered.

When a non-custodial parent loses their job or faces another financial crisis, society immediately turns that person into a deadbeat if they do not continue to pay a set amount, each month. Even if the man (as is usually the case) loses their job, becomes ill or has an accident or is faced with a financial emergency, he is immediately considered a deadbeat. When this disparity brought up to defenders of our current support system they can only respond with anger, usually resorting to calling the parent a loser, deadbeat, criminal etc etc. Most will scream that man should work 4-5 jobs if needed to pay their support; no quarter is given, regardless of situation. Sadly, our society is so accepting of our current system, making changes to it will be virtually impossible.

I know this has been a long post, but there was one case that may interest you. This was posted to FR years ago when it happened and with some digging I could find it again.

A man in Arizona was divorcing his wife after twenty years or so of marriage. During the divorce proceedings, she all of a sudden claimed to be pregnant by the man. Their adult daughter, worked in a DNA lab whose job it was to determine paternity. Although the man claimed there was no way possible his ex-wife could be pregnant with his child the courts were presented a DNA paternity test showing he was the father.

The man, knowing there was no way his ex-wife could be pregnant (they had not had relations during the time) continued to protest being charged child support for child he had never seen, nor had a single other member of his family seen. He was also ordered to pay insurance, when his insurance company could not produce a single bill for the child he used that to fight his case in court. Over and over the judges ordered the wife to allow visitation which never happened, to provide pictures that never came. Finally the judge ordered the ex-wife to produce the actual child in court. It took years for this to happen, costing this man tens of thousands of dollars in legal fee’s. His ex-wives attorney btw was paid by the state.

The “mother”, not knowing what else to do, literally “borrowed” a neighbors child (who was slightly older than the child she claimed) and brought that child to court. In the meantime, the neighbor had called the police claiming her child had been kidnapped! The child made such a fuss in the court, refusing to call “mom” mom the police were brought in.

It turns out the ex-wife had lied about the complete pregnancy, had collected hundred of thousands of dollars in support for a child that never existed. Her older daughter simple forged a DNA report from the lab she worked at claiming the child belonged to the poor man.

Although the court stopped the support payments immediately and ordered the ex-wife to repay all the monies she had collected, the ex-husband was forced to go to court and file to get anything back. Last I looked he still had not been returned a penny. She was also ordered to pay his legal fee’s and the state back for her legal representation. The last time I looked, no action had been taken against her legally although she continued to fail to repay any of those debts. She should have gone to prison.

That is how screwed our system is. A child that does not even exist can be ordered support and the court is perfectly fine with enforcing that order even if the father has never once set eyes on his “child”.

Men have been forced to pay support simply because a woman names them the father, even after a DNA test proves the child is not the man’s, the order continues. California is the worst state for this. Thousand of men who have never even met the woman they are said to have a child with are ordered to pay support for a child born to her. The “law” says if the man does not prove, within a sufficient amount of time, that they are not the father, they are stuck. Men who have had orders sent to addresses they have not lived at for years, who never receive any court papers have found themselves arrested, their licences suspended, tax refunds seized etc. It does not matter that they never received any court order; they did not prove they were not the father, the name matches, they are stuck.

Thousands of other men are forced to pay support for a child born to their spouse from an adulterous affair. These cases are some of the worst. Not only is the jilted spouse on the under threat of arrest if they do not pay for a child they did not create the real bio-father is let off the hook to go his merry way.

There are horror story after horror story out of our family court systems. Severe changes need to be made, but as long as society continues to support our current system no politician is willing to lift a hand to do a thing.

  • More details about Zimmerman emerge during bond hearing ("Racist" meme just flew out the window)

I have been my neighborhood watch captain for the last five years. In that time I can easily remember at least two dozens calls placed to 911 or my local PD over suspicious activity or at the request of resident in my neighborhood.

Do you think neighborhood watch captains sit at home watching television until something happens, then goes and writes a report on it? Watch members, especially Captains are go-to people for residents to receive help or just pass on information about suspicious people lurking around, newest cookie recipes, and any crimes committed on their property and a whole host of other issues. Instead of having dozens of individual residents calling 911, having a “command center” makes like much easier for all involved.

That Zimmerman only called 46 times, in an area prone to crime, says more about his restraint than the meme the press, and you, and spreading; that he is a wanna-be-cop, loose with his gun.

I also carry, concealed, in Florida (at all times) but especially on nights when my watch groups walks our neighborhood. If I am attacked by a 17 year old black male, punched in the nose so hard I hit the deck and then repeatedly find this young man bashing my head into the sidewalk, should I wait for him to complete his task or draw my weapon to defend myself?

I do not know where you are getting your “facts” of this case but they are so far off base you should be a guest on MSLSD.

Ayer’s is no different than a Palestinian who claims all Jews are targets since all Jews are required to perform a certain amount of military service.

Ayer’s is no different than an Osama Bin Laden or Sheik Khalid Mohammed, who believes collateral damage is wanted by their respective gods, allah and communism.

Interesting how many tenured professors defend Palestinians who bomb innocent Jews, defend muslim terrorism as the affect of American imperialism and defend Ayer’s, a domestic terrorist. That he and his equally guilty wife should still be sitting in prison awaiting their death to get out doesn’t cross the minds of our educational elites.

Says a lot about higher education.

Lord forgive me but my first thought after about the crash was that Obama would use it as an excuse to close yet another base.

Lord look over those who are hurt, especially the pilots who will hold guilt from this accident for their entire lives.

Thank you for the welcome Kathy.

I should have included a tribute to all of our troops also, excuse me for not doing so!

I literally learned of the Enterprise ending it’s historic run from your thread and it hit me a like a ton of bricks.

    God Bless our troops!

My father was stationed on the Enterprise as a Machinists Mate, 1962-1966.

    Wallace P. Whittet 1944-1979.

I have only a few memories of my father but knowing he was a part of the Enterprise's history always made her special to me.

It's breaking my heart she is being decommissioned. It's like losing another part of my dad.

  • Bloodthirsty “Palestinians” decry "pro-Zionist" al-Jazeera refusing to air Merah’s massacre

That these words are being uttered by me shocks me, but good for Al Jazeera for not showing the video.

Call me skeptical but I’m sure there are plenty of people working there who would love to give muslim terrorists this gift of watching Jews die. Knowing though, that they would be held responsible for stirring up blood lust with other terrorists pushed them to the decision.

This story is disturbing in so many ways. From the UN refusing to make a single statement about the murder of Jews simply for being Jews when they have pre-printed press releases on the ready for any real or imagined slight to the so called Palestinians, to the animal who killed innocent children and a Rabbi. France had him on their terrorist watch list since 2008; great watching. Reminds me of our TSA.

Now, the animals father is planning on suing the French police for “killing his son” and has asked a lawyer in Algeria to handle the case for him. He’s also making excuses for his son. Not that we do not see this in the US when a person goes on a shooting spree; many families trip over themselves to make sure the press knows their family member would never do something that horrible, “they must have snapped” of course. This is the same father btw, who has been called “absent” and “out of his sons life” by the terrorists lawyer.

Maybe daddy thinks he’s won a lottery? Gotta pay that lawyer to rehabilitate his son’s reputation after all. In France at least. His son has cemented the families reputation as martyrs and heroes all across the muslim world. Praise be to that pedophile prophet.

Three beautiful children, two of the children’s father, a Rabbi, all butchered for simply being Jewish. Not that France isn’t known for its Antisemitism. Sarkozy to his credit quickly condemned these murders, called it a national tragedy and the terrorist an animal. Yet, he’s loath to admit why three French children and a Rabbi were butchered. Sarzoky ordered Jewish schools across France to have a moment of silence if memory of the victims; can’t have the children in the rest of France do that though. After all, it’s only a few Jews, right?

Sigh....yes, I’m rambling. This story has for some reason bothered me more than most. Not that horrific murders aren’t common in areas where Jews and Muslims live (and 99% of the time it’s the Muslim doing the killing).

I’m thankful the animal was shot like the dog he was (apologies to dogs whom I love) instead of facing French “justice” where no death penalty or true life in prison exists. At least the Jews of Toulouse and France can rest a bit easier knowing this particular walking time-bomb is gone. That is, until the next terrorist decides to prove that allah is greatest.

Allah followers won’t be happy until every single Jew is killed. No, strike that, even then they wouldn’t be happy, all they would do is turn their lust for blood on another group of “infidels”.
