Nothing like US Government mandates creating problems for business and commerce. Here is an excellent example. Remember the recent chatter about nonessential government employees during the recent Government lockout. EPA and Department of Energy would be excellent candidates to defund and abolish. The Department of Energy does not produce any energy at all just like the Department of Education does not educate anyone. The US has got money to burn, there is no waste in Washington, DC.

    Dear Boss,

Eight little whores, with no hope of heaven,
Gladstone may save one, then there'll be seven.
Seven little whores beggin for a shilling,
One stays in Henage Court, then there's a killing.
Six little whores, glad to be alive,
One sidles up to Jack, then there are five.
    Four and whore rhyme aright,
    So do three and me,
    I'll set the town alight
    Ere there are two.
Two little whores, shivering with fright,
Seek a cosy doorway in the middle of the night.
Jack's knife flashes, then there's but one,
And the last one's the ripest for Jack's idea of fun.

I do a bit more work, then give it out straight.
My knife's so nice and sharp I want to get to work right away if I get a chance.
Good Luck, catch me if you can.
    Yours truly

    Yes, all well and good.

Why don’t you do something constructive like bash Obama instead and his refusal (while opting for Obamacare) to adopt a strategy to convert the diesel fueled tractor trailers to natural gas which would lower the price of gasoline for your Corvette?
How do you like the “low” price of gasoline, btw?
Or Obama’s refusal to sign legislation which would enable the Keystone pipeline?

Also on Tsarnaev’s apparent YouTube site were videos in Russian from Abdel al-Hamid al-Juhani. Mary Habeck, an expert in radical Islam at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies who is a Russian speaker, said al-Juhani “is an important ideologue for al Qaeda in Chechnya and the Caucases.”

“The form of Salafism that Tsarnaev was [allegedly] interested in is a very radical form of Salafism,” Habeck said, “one that is usually associated with al Qaeda and associated groups.” She also pointed to a video on his playlist featuring a sermon from Mohammad on the armies of Khuresan, a reference to a Muslim prophecy of an army from Central Asia that would inflict defeat upon the enemies of the faith. “The black banners from Khuresan are a reference to al Qaeda,” Habeck sai.

The YouTube page allegedly belonging to Tsarnaev is the second clue that the Boston Marathon bombers may have been motivated by the ideology of Osama bin Laden. The type of bomb used in the attack utilized a pressure cooker as a timer; al Qaeda’s online English-language Web magazine, Inspire, features instructions on making a pressure-cooker bomb in its debut issue. The pressure-cooker bombs are also used by insurgents in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India.

Uncle Ruslan Tsarni should be listened to. The 26 year old Boston Marathon bomber suspect, Tamerlan Tsarnaev - his nephew, was radicalized or brainwashed by the behind the scenes mastermind, of Armenian nationality (this is the individual that should be apprehended and interrogated i.e. put out of business before he finds other pawns to infect with Islamic radicalism or brainwashing to commit his jihad while keeping his filthy hands clean).

Islamic radicalization is like an aggresive African bee creating havoc in the predominately passive mosque bee hive.

    Comrade Brother Abu Bubba
From Evan Sayet author of the book, “The KinderGarden of Eden: How The Modern Liberal Thinks And Why He’s Convinced That Ignorance Is Bliss.

Modern Liberalism is a utopian ideology that is predicated on the notion that, since mankind lost paradise when Adam and Eve ate from the apple of knowledge, then mankind can return to paradise if only we’d all just “regurgitate the apple” and give up all knowledge of right and wrong. The notion is that, if we can eliminate the quest for what I call “the better,” then there’d be nothing for people to disagree about. If people didn’t disagree about things, then they wouldn’t fight; and, if they didn’t fight, then of course they’d never go to war. Peace on Earth — in fact, paradise — can be achieved, they’re convinced, if only they could eliminate the quest for the better. This is the environment that is found in kindergarten, where every child’s finger painting is declared “beautiful,” and every child is declared special (but none more special than any other), and where every child gets a cookie, but no child gets two. Modern liberalism is predicated on the notion that, if we could just retard the child’s moral and intellectual growth at a level prior to his having begun to learn about the better, then paradise will reign.

It is essential that one understand that the “Modern Liberal” is not simply a liberal who happens to be alive today. I call them “Liberals” only because they typically call themselves Liberals, and I felt that any other word would fail to make clear just how prevalent the ideology is. I inserted the modifier “Modern” to make clear that they are not who they say they are, nor are they what “Liberals” used to be. In fact, the Modern Liberal is as much at war against “classical” liberal values as he is against conservative ones, for mature values are not found in the kindergarten classroom, and they can be the stuff about which people might disagree, fight and even war.

Modern Liberalism is a new ideology — or rather, one that is new in its prevalence to the Modern Liberal era (post-World War II through today). It traces its call for the rejection of intellect to Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who sought to replace thinking with passion and feeling (just like the small child). But whereas Rousseau’s ideology of abject and intentional stupidity was roundly rejected by people who lived in times and places where intelligence was required to avoid and survive real world difficulties like disease, hunger, poverty and physical pain, in post-World War II America — with science and technology having just about eradicated these things — an ideology that was based upon recreating paradise by retarding the moral and intellectual growth of its followers found greater acceptance.

These are what I call the first two Laws of the Unified Field Theory of Liberalism. The first is that thinking is an act of bigotry to be avoided by all moral people and reviled when seen practiced by others. The rationale behind the outlawing of thought is that, anything a person concludes is going to have been so tainted by his personal prejudices – prejudices all people possess as simply part of the human experience based on things like the color of their skin, the nation of their ancestry, their height, weight, sex and so on, that the only way not to be a bigot is to never think at all.

The Second Law is that indiscriminateness of thought does not lead to indiscriminateness of policy, it leads — and, in fact can only lead — to the Modern Liberal siding with evil over good, wrong over right and the behaviors that lead to failure over those that lead to success. After all, if no culture, no religion, no form of governance or anything else is better than anything else, then the Modern Liberal has no explanation for success and failure. To those to whom indiscriminateness is a moral imperative (because its opposite is discrimination), success – as proved by nothing other than the fact that it has succeeded is all the proof that’s required for them to conclude that some injustice must have taken place. The same is true with failure. If nothing is better than anything else, then failure – as proved by nothing other than the fact that it has failed – serves as definitive proof that the failure has somehow been victimized. And the same is true of good and evil. If no person, culture, religion and so on is better or worse than any other, then anything society deems to be good can be said to be so only because of society’s bigotries. This led Thomas Sowell to conclude that, to those I call the Modern Liberals, “That which is held in esteem qualifies to be their target; that which is held in disdain qualifies to be their mascot.”

I have no doubt and don’t make any other claim that the Modern Liberal’s purpose is altruistic. Their desire is, in fact, the ultimate in altruism: to create heaven on Earth. It’s just not mature, has no relationship to the grown-up, real world and, ultimately, because it doesn’t, it leads them to policies that are invariably destructive. Those who hounded former Harvard President Larry Summers off of campus were doing so out of “altruism” and the desire to end “sexism” by making it virtually illegal to consider differences between the sexes, but they did nothing to advance the cause of science or promote sound policy that can only come from the truth.

"If the pipeline were not enough, there are also huge oil reserves off of our coasts as well. With just a small fraction of our offshore acreage being leased, American companies suffer burdening restrictions in the form of federal bans and declining lease offerings".

"Incredulously, President Obama has pledged billions in offshore drilling elsewhere -- most notably, Brazil. If the president were truly opposed to offshore drilling, he would uniformly discourage the practice, rather than pick "winners and losers." Experiments of this type of national policy in recent decades, with Venezuela, saw our hand bitten by the satiated country as it seized private industry and now uses their American-aided resources to hurt us at any opportunity".

"Given the current failed national leadership, America has little choice but to become even more reliant on insecure sources of foreign oil. Middle Eastern oil reliance continues to be a costly and terrible policy. The money we spend there often ends up in the hands of people who only seem to use it to plan our demise".

"The United States devours 23 million barrels of oil daily, accounting for about 25 percent of total global consumption. But our domestic production -- through visionless polices and failed leadership -- isn't keeping pace. American production falls by an average of 135,000 barrels annually while demand steadily rises. And that demand must now compete globally with the equally insatiable appetite of China".

"While President Obama wistfully gambles our national security on foreign oil, he could have tapped into North America's bounty of natural energy resources. According to a new study from the Institute for Energy Research (IER), the total amount of recoverable oil in North America exceeds 1.7 trillion barrels. That's enough to cover America's energy needs for the next 250 years".

"This would create opportunities to export needed energy globally, funneling international currency into national coffers, rather than siphoning them, while giving the innovative American people time and resources to lead the world on new energy solutions".

"If that were not enough, America is even more abundant in natural gas. IER estimates 4.2 quadrillion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas lies below our soil -- that enough to provide the United States with electricity for the next 575 years"!

"Rather than exploit this clean and abundant energy with favorable government policy, the president would rather use it as a class warfare wedge for political purposes".

A study by the University of Missouri on turnout in Indiana showed that turnout actually increased by about 2 percentage points overall in Indiana in 2006 in the first election after the voter ID law went into effect.[17] There was no evidence that counties with higher percentages of minority, poor, elderly, or less-educated populations suffered any reduction in voter turnout. In fact, “the only consistent and statistically significant impact of photo ID in Indiana is to increase voter turnout in counties with a greater percentage of Democrats relative to other counties.”[18] In September 2007, The Heritage Foundation released a study analyzing the 2004 election turnout data for all states. This study found that voter ID laws do not reduce the turnout of voters, including African–Americans and Hispanics. Such voters were just as likely to vote in states with ID as in states where just their names were asked at the polling place.[19] A study by the University of Delaware and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln examined data from the 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006 elections. At both the aggregate and individual levels, the study found that voter ID laws do not affect turnout, including across racial/ethnic/socioeconomic lines. The study concludes that “concerns about voter identification laws affecting turnout are much ado about nothing.”[20] A survey by American University of registered voters in Maryland, Indiana, and Mississippi to see whether registered voters had photo IDs concluded that “showing a photo ID as a requirement of voting does not appear to be a serious problem in any of the states” because “[a]lmost all registered voters have an acceptable form of photo ID.”[21] Less than 0.5 percent of respondents had neither a photo ID nor citizenship documentation. A 2008 election survey of 12,000 registered voters in all 50 states found that fewer than nine people were unable to vote because of voter ID requirements.[22] In 2010, a Rasmussen poll of likely voters in the United States showed overwhelming support (82 percent) for requiring photo ID in order to vote in elections. This support runs across ethnic and racial lines; Rasmussen reports that “[t]his is a sentiment that spans demographics, as majorities in every demographic agree.”[23] A similar study by John Lott in 2006 also found no effect on voter turnout and, in fact, found an indication that reducing voter fraud (through means such as voter ID) may have a positive impact on voter turnout.[24]

This state department mindset is what is referred to as experience and understanding of foreign policy. A candidate who rigidly advances what is best for America will always be “inexperienced” in foreign policy.

An American president has no need for knowing all the silly customs, traditions, and problems of every country out there. He should merely treat them all with honesty and fairness, and let their behavior towards us set US policy towards them.

Our current system of secret deal, behind hidden treaty,,and nations allowed to trash us openly, while being our secret friend is the trademark or European diplomacy and has no place in American foreign policy. The state dept needs to be rooted out.

Excellent post, worthy to be repeated. Remember, not too long ago there was an American President with his arm around the Saudi Ambassador, Prince Bandar, "his good friend". Also, remember the wife of that Saudi Ambassador, Princess Haifa funnelled some money to some of the Saudi terrorists who hijacked the planes on 9/11. Also remember, that the US Government or State Department did not have to ask the Saudi Ambassador and his wife to leave the US. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was embarrassed enough that "Hatred's Kingdom" recalled Bandar and Haifa.

That President was a former Diplomat. He lost a Senate race in Texas and was resurrected by President Nixon and named Ambassador to the United Nations and the rest is History. There is an airport named after him in Houston, Texas.

There is already a glut of oil in the midwest from the Dakotas and so, the oil companies are reversing a pipeline and bringing that oil into Texas to refine and ship out. Liberals love slogans because the "laws of logic have no action on crowds." Mobs, Le Bon says, "are not to be influenced by reasoning, and can only comprehend rough-and-ready associations of ideas." He could be describing the New York Times and other journals of elite opinion when he describes periodicals that "manufacture opinions for their readers and supply them with ready- made phrases which dispense them of the trouble of reasoning."

You will see all the techniques for inspiring mobs in liberal behavior.

There are three main elements to putting an idea in a crowd: affirmation, repetition, and contagion. The effects takes time, Le Bon says, but "once produced are very lasting." It's the same reason annoying TV commercials are so effective. "Head On! Apply directly to the forehead. Head On! Apply directly to the forehead. Head On! Apply directly to the forehead."

Affirmation is the creation of a slogan, free of all reasoning and all proof." Indeed, the "conciser an affirmation is, the more destitute of every appearance of proof and demonstration," he says, "the more weight it carries." This is "one of the surest means of making an idea enter the mind of crowds."

Affirmation only works if it is "constantly repeated, and so far as possible in the same terms." The power of repetition "is due to the fact that the repeated statement is embedded in the long run in those profound regions of our unconscious selves in which the motives or our actions are forged. At the end of a certain time we have forgotten who is the author of the repeated assertion, and we finish by believing it."

Short slogans endlessly repeated create a "current of opinion" allowing "the powerful mechanism of contagion" to operate. Ideas spread through the crowd as easily as microbes, Le Bon says, which explains the mass panics common to rock concerts, financial markets, street protests, and Dennis Kucinich rallies. "A panic that has seized only a few sheep," he observes, "will soon extend to the whole flock."

Liberals have it down to an art: The cacophonous method of yelling until conservatives shut up just because they just want to go home, the purblind assertions -- No WMDs in Iraq! Civilian Deaths! Violence at Tea Parties! Head On! Apply directly to the forehead! -- and overnight the entire mass of liberals is robotically repeating the same slogans.

It isn't only in their incessant street demonstrations that liberals talk in slogans. This is how liberals discuss serious policy matters with the public. It's as if they're speaking to a vast O.J. Simpson jury, mesmerized by a pair of gloves and a closing argument that rhymes ("If it doesn't fit, you must acquit").

BP really did not need to spend a whole lot of money to have prevented the Macondo well blowout aboard the TransOcean Deepwater Horizon. I speculated (dated email of April 25, 2010) concerning the cause of the problem to a former Overseas Drilling Engineering Supervisor (See SPE Abstract: Annular Gas Flow After Cementing: A Look at Practical Solutions) and have not changed my mind since. The faulty BOPs were a contributing factor of the Macondo blowout but were not the fundamental CAUSE of the problem.

Although a tie back on the bottom 7" liner would have been a better design for the casing program, the disaster still could have been averted if the BP Drilling Supervisor and BP Superintendent on the beach had utilized some common sense as well as exercised sound established oil industry (spelled CONSCIENTIOUS) practices.

    1. What was the justification for only utilizing 51 Bbls. of Cement slurry (WITH NITROGEN?). Furthermore, why was there no plan to bring the annular cement column from outside the 7" Liner (@ 18,360 ft.) up to the bottom of the next casing string - 9 7/8" (@ 17,168 ft.)? This primary Cementing job on the bottom hole section was CRITICAL to seal off and isolate the oil and gas bearing formation with the 7" casing.

    2. Also, only a total of 6 centralizers were reportedly utilized instead of the recommended 21 by Halliburton while Cementing the 7" Liner. NOTE: Centralizers DO NOT centralize the casing but prevent standoff of the pipe and formation. The additional Centralizers could quite possibly have helped to obtain a primary cement job on the CRITICAL bottom section of hole around the 7" Liner assuming sufficient Cement Slurry volume was utilized.

    3. BP only waited 16? hrs on the cement to harden (insufficient time to allow the cement to set and bond to the formation and casing). No Cement Bond Log (CBL) was run. Furthermore, the test on the casing was suspicious or suspect as well according to a BP VP after the fact. Why did work continue without fixing the problem at the source?

    4. Even after all the problems associated with the cementing program, then there was the fatal decision while Plugging and Abandoning (P & A) to displace the 14.0 ppg weighted mud in the well with water which could have collapsed the casing if the cement did not have time to set (this could present a problem in the future with cementing the Macondo blowout from one of the relief wells if the casing in the Macondo well is parted, i.e. the casing has no integrity?.) The well was static (did not flow) with 14.0 ppg mud in the well when the decision was made to displace the 14.0 ppg weighted mud with unweighted 8.4? ppg water and pump 3 separate Cement plugs.

I have a quotation which is also relevant to the subject from a textbook entitled, "Practical Well Planning and Drilling Manual" by Steve Devereux (PennWell Books 1998) from the Introduction:

Early in the 1990s, operators and drilling contractors slowed down or stopped their ongoing training programs. This was largely due to low oil prices and high drilling costs. With less activity, many skilled people left the industry. The accountants decided that funds spent on training should be assigned elsewhere (perhaps on recruiting more accountants?) and so the major sources of highly trained, well-rounded drilling people dried up. To continue operating, new contracting schemes transferred responsibility from the operators to the contractors. This led to an exodus of people from the operators to the contractors and into the consulting market, depleting those skills within the operators much faster than by natural attrition and without replacing them, except by employing consultants. Some operators may end up with no one to properly supervise the core business of drilling. This will expose them to risks associated with major incidents such as blowouts without being able to manage that risk. Even on a turnkey well, the operator still has risks...

Another clear trend is that many people planning and supervising wells do not have significant wellsite exposure. You can take the smartest person there is, put them through a degree program, and send them to all possible classroom courses. However, without the practical knowledge--the feel for drilling that comes from years on the rig--they are unlikely to become first class drilling people. They will tend to "use their PCs as a senior partner to make decisions for them rather than as a tool to help them make better-informed decisions themselves". and they will be unduly influenced by the people around them.

    Profound and prophetic words.

The real ongoing tragedy will be compounded upon the American public, if the Obama administration is allowed to institute a 6 month moratorium on "deepwater" (> 500 ft.) in the Gulf of Mexico. The phenomena of Annular Gas Flow after Cementing can occur at any water depth or on land for that matter. There is no problematic correlation to water depth.

Bernstein Research reports that if a moratorium is allowed to occur for a year, it would cut global oil supplies by 500,000 Bbls/day between 2013 - 2017. It's nearly the margin right now between World Oil Production of 84.1 Million Bbls/day and World Consumption at 83.7 Million Bbls/day. (See PBS Nightly Business Report (transcripts), May 28th)

I was also impressed with my Chinese professors during the mid to late 70's. (still wearing the Mao green uniform. Could of been because of the weather in Pittsburgh)

The Fluid Flow Professor, Dr. Han mentioned in my previous post would not have been caught dead in a Mao green uniform no matter how cold the weather.

The beggar thy neighbor trade policies of the Chinese will destroy this country. Both political parties in the US supported GATT and NAFTA. NAFTA was supposed to end illegal emigration from south of the border, in reality, it exacerbated illegal emigration.

Funny how engineers have a different view of the world.

Ironic, in the 70's when I was an Engineering student, I had my first experience with a Chinese professor, Dr. Han who taught Fluid Flow. I was highly impressed with this man's native intelligence and uncommon common sense.

I distinctly remember him saying in class in broken English,
"Wait until after the revolution, then we all be poor". I went out of my way to look up his PHD thesis at the Engineering Library to find out in his introductory biography that he had escaped from Shanghai, China to come to America. I wonder if he were still alive now if he would return to China. As a postscript, I had the opportunity to travel to Beijing and Hainan Island (near Vietnam) to the SW on business in 1984 (Comrade Mao really held the Chinese back!). It's amazing the progress the Chinese have made since then and the regression that has occurred in the US. Zero sum gain.

A relative told me of a Vietnamese woman who came to America and started up a couple of nail salons. The woman chose to return to Vietnam saying that there were more opportunities in Vietnam than in the United States. Chilling and disturbing, but would not be of interest to globalists.

Why did legendary investor Jimmy Rodgers leave the United States to live in Singapore? Why is Rodgers having his daughter taught Mandarin Chinese? Answer: Because he doesn't know anything. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense doesn't it, and he is coincidentally not an "enlightened" engineer who knows about the world.

The developing countries which are NATIONALISTIC like China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore (part of the 7 Far East Dragons), Brazil will all economically outperform an UNNATIONALISTIC country like the US in the future. The Future belongs to the NATIONALISTS. There is no future for the UNNATIONALISTS.

Don’t let her pics, your testosterone and especially only one conservative thought pave her way into Freeper sainthood.

Below is more conservative thought from Maria Conchita Alonzo. Maybe, you are the one who should see a medical doctor concerning your testosterone levels. Since you decided to put your foot in your mouth, NOW CHEW!

Editor's Note: The following is an open letter from actress Maria Conchita Alonso, who penned this response to actor Sean Penn's recent remarks on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" in which the left-wing actor defended Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez.

    Dear Sean, WHY?

Even though I have great respect for your artistic talent, I was appalled by a recent television interview where you vigorously showed support for the regime of Hugo Chavez. Therefore, I've decided to set the record straight for you regarding the Chavez regime, supporting my case based not only on my political ideologies, but on proven facts you choose to ignore. Otherwise, I believe your position would be different.

Being born in Cuba, a country where freedom of speech is non-existent, it's startling to observe how Venezuela, where I was happily raised, is fast becoming Cuba's mirror image: Dismantling of fundamental democratic rights deserved by its people and citizens of the world.

For example, you said that all Chavez-winning elections in Venezuela were "transparent."

Then WHY didn't the government allow a manual recount of the votes and computer information when doubt set in? After all, how do you explain how these votes that were strongly favoring the opposition mysteriously reflected the opposite results the morning after, thus permitting Chavez to continue on? On what are you basing your conclusions? I strongly recommend that you read a report by the U.S. State Department written in 2009 entitled "The Fraudulent Elections in Venezuela". Story Continues Below Ad ↓

We live in a Republic comprised of three autonomous branches of government: Supreme Court, Congress and Executive, thus, a true democracy.

Then WHY do you accept violations by part of the government of Venezuela to ignore its Constitution whereby one man, military-educated Chavez, controls all branches of government? His military background is revealed by his philosophy: "I order, you obey and if you disagree you're a traitor to the country." And your voice is silenced along with the ability of freethinking. Did you know solely the government controls 92% of media communications?

You've strongly criticized your own governments' overspending and corruption, whereby the budget for We the people never ends up in the hands of those who need it most.

Then WHY do you support a government with over $100 million in oil revenue that has 71% poverty? Or don't you know that corruption is so rampant that the rightfully deserving poor never sees a "red cent"? In addition, the fact is that Chavez gives away millions of dollars; belonging to the Venezuelan people, to other countries in order to build a false sense of philanthropy of a man whose self-proclaiming ego is blinded by power behind a communist Cuban-style revolution, expanding such regime.

We live in the U.S.A., the land of opportunity to do and say what we desire, respecting dissenting points of view, of course and without reprisals.

Then WHY do you defend a government whose stronghold upon its people is so oppressive that a big price is paid for exercising freedom of speech: Persecutions, closing of radio and television stations, jail...and even death? Then WHY do you promote the interests of a government that violates the Constitution by hindering the possibility of development: Land, industries, commerce, communications companies, foreign investment opportunities, financial institutions and private property? This is an everyday scenario in Venezuela.

Then WHY haven't you informed yourself on these facts by reading Venezuelan and international newspapers exposing thousands of cases?

Given your sense of community and respect for all people, I think you would defend the security of the citizens in your country.

Then WHY do you validate a government that has converted Venezuela into the second most dangerous country in the world, where impunity is above 90% and its people live in a constant state of stress and fear of getting killed? Many wonder if this situation isn't but a diabolic strategy by the part of the government, something to think about. Do you know that the weekend of March 13th there were 67 counted homicides only in Caracas? Furthermore, in the first 50 days of this year, there have been 140 express kidnappings for fast money (a 50% increase in 2009 versus previous years). After 11 years of the Chavez government, more than 16,000 people has been murdered by armed gangs and we're not even at war like in the Middle East.

In the U.S.A. the arm of the law comes down hard on government or private sector where cases of fraud and corruption are discovered.

Then WHY do you defend a politician who promised to sweep corruption, but has ended up sponsoring illicit enrichment by part of his closest allies and civil servants, placing Venezuela as the most corrupt country in the Americas and in its political history? Corruption has increased 68% and inflation 31% in 2009. What a coincidence, Sean that the majority of those "corruptors" are members of the government you have chosen to embrace.

You've demonstrated admirable assistance to those in need, due to natural disasters or poverty, those with desperate pleas to get their misfortune exposed for the whole world to see.

Then WHY do you applaud the efforts of a government that has notoriously increased poverty (65% to 71%), produced scarcity of staple products and created an energy and water shortage crisis never seen in Venezuela? Not to mention the numbers of children begging in the streets. You may have missed it because the government tends to take the scenic routes for its guests. I invite you see the real Venezuela, stay for a couple of weeks without the logistics the government of said country organizes for you and you'll be amazed with the results in your unaided observations.

Sean, you live in a country where your parents had the freedom to teach you principles and respect for entities and human beings, where education hasn't been manipulated by political agendas of those in power.

Then WHY are you in favor of a country where day after day education isn't plural by obligating a single-minded agenda and lack of respect for family structure? Did you know Sean that in Venezuela there is political indoctrination at a very early age, better known as "brainwashing"? And let me tell you that if parents don't agree, they will lose custody of their children, just like in Cuba, a country you've placed on a pedestal.

You are a product of a Jewish father.

Then WHY is your fascination with a government that has overtly stated its hatred against the Jewish community worldwide, to the extent that the State of Israel condemned anti-Semitic attacks in Venezuela? Do you think it's fair that many Jewish-Venezuelan families have emigrated because the Chavez government robbed their personal files when their temples and offices were under attacked in 2008?

I don't think so, Sean, that you would support violence as a means to impose your agenda.

Then WHY do you support a government with close relationships with FARC, ETA, Cuban G-2, Government of Iran, Al-Qaeda and Hezbollah, among others, which are the most feared terrorist movements in the world?

You have said that you applaud the actions that Chavez has instituted for his "pueblo".

Then WHY do you back him up when he himself has recently publicly recognized his failure for effective social programs (missions) in the areas of education, social service and hospitals; where each day the number of the uncared rises for lack of appropriate facilities and respective upkeep, and a country where the mothers give birth in the streets? This you can see on YouTube in investigative programs run on German, Swedish, Italian and Spanish television stations. Is that what you support when you publicly declare that all those that say that Chavez is a dictator should go to jail?

Sean, you have the right to say what you want, but as far as I know, your statements are contradictory to "Freedom of Speech", the same one you enjoy in this country; by coincidence, "The First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America."

My intention isn't to convince you, but to let you know what is truly happening in this beautiful country of noble people, Venezuela. I would encourage you to investigate in depth the "inside story" and realize for yourself the dark side behind the person you choose to idolize.

Agreed, Chavez did win his first elections, but like Hitler, he betrayed what the country gave him: The vote of confidence.
