..."Democrats say using the "nuclear option" would end the Senate tradition of collegiality and paralyze the chamber with partisanship"
The only time there has ever been "collegiality" in the Senate is when the Rep's have given the Democrats what they want. This is a fiction.
Rep's - as usual - have a problem with language. They should never have named this option the "nuclear option." They should have called it the "Senate Rules Change Option."

I got Sirius added as an option on my new Infiniti. I could have gone with either XM or Sirius but chose Sirius because it had a better lineup of Talk Radio.
It's great, especially if you do a lot of driving and like talk radio -- no more searching to find a station as you travel through the rural areas!
I have not crunched the numbers myself. However, we have a huge unfunded liability in future SS payments. It always struck me that what is going on here is simply forcing the government to recognize part of that liability earlier than they otherwise would.
I don't know about the ADA but if the time is not paid, it is definitely a violation of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. The rule is pretty simple - time off is time off and the employer cannot make any demands on you.

I started my 2 children shooting 22's when they were about 6. My son is now 22 and my daughter is 17. By the way, my daughter has always been the best shot in the family. A fact that has always driven my son up the wall.
