NH is traditionally Republican, but like the other states it suffered under Mr. Bush’s lack of Republican values. Like other states it suffered a Democrat backlash. But can you name another state where Republicans gained 17 House seats last year? How did *your* Republicans do compared to ours?
The bill didn’t pass, but the vote was split: 216 - 160. Public opinion was overwhelmingly favorable. For a first try at essentially nullifying the union, not bad. Once the bottom truly falls out of the USSA, the idea will move further into the mainstream. Perhaps we will have our chance to follow Slovenia and Lithuania into escape from socialist empire. Or perhaps the DC commies will loosen up enough to take the momentum out of this brushfire.
In answer to the guy who requested a synopsis...the Ron Paul meetup group, in Lexington I think, adopted a highway and will clean it wearing pistols and revolvers openly.
The practice I think began with us here in Manchester, NH... it has spread around NH and now to KY.
thanks for all the colorful responses guys :) i had not factored in the advantages of doing a type of civil dis which generates joke-making. But u guys are living proof this should be an event that gets a lot of publicity just from word of mouth....
but in terms of real PR here’s an article from the mainstreamers about the event:
As always, thanks for all the responses. Time will tell whether our present course leads off a cliff. Just remember Paul’s predictions with an open mind until the day the bottom drops out.
Wanted to thank everyone for the great responses...and say you’ve restored my faith in the ability of Christians to at least debate the issue! When I called some churches at the beginning of the Concord-Washington standoff, around 2006...none even returned my calls.
My heart really goes out to the gentleman with the oxygen tank who quit going to church :(
I quit too and it makes me sad that I haven’t done as good a job as he suggested we should do...of visiting shut-ins like my grandad used to...
