  • Petition: Calling on 2nd place GOP candidate in primary to back Mark Sanford and keep SC1 red

We need help in SC-01. Mark Sanford is running slightly behind Democrat Elizabeth Colbert-Busch thanks to a ton of Nancy Pelosi's money. Now we could debate whether Sanford was the best candidate or not for Republicans but it is what it is. The 2nd place guy, Curtis Bostic, has many supporters pledging to write in his name. Even Bostic's son is encouraging it on his Twitter account. We need to encourage Bostic to do the right thing and discourage his supporters from writing in any name and encourage them to vote for Mark Sanford (even if it's not an "endorsement"...

Are you a Mark Sanford supporter? Would you like to see him in Congress or would you like someone else? My favorites... Mark Sanford & John Kuhn -- Both fiscal hawks. Kuhn has a record of fighting against GOP against big-spending in the state Senate. Larry Grooms -- State Senator with a good voting record. A good "well-rounded" candidate. Curtis Bostic -- Social conservative but strong fiscal conservative reputation too Ray Nash -- A former Sheriff who is very conservative. Chip Limehouse -- A state representative with a lot of establishment ties and big money backing. Not such a hot...
  • Gas Lines are Not Sandy’s Fault

(Article is posted in its entirety under a Creative Commons 3.0 Attribution License) It’s crazy in New York and New Jersey, and commentators are mystified. Hurricane Sandy was bad enough. That’s a natural disaster, and we are dealing with it. But then came the unnatural disaster in the form of the government’s response. This is where the real catastrophe begins. Check out the mess in New Jersey. The New York Times reports that “widespread gas shortages stirred fears among residents and disrupted some rescue and emergency services as the New York region struggled to return to a semblance of normalcy...

Please vote for ***MIKE ROSE*** in this poll: Background: South Carolina has open primaries and this leads to the inevitable problem of having "RINO"s invade our primary. This time the other side is sending in a real-estate development backed guy to push for more government intervention in the economy. Sean Bennett said in last night's debate "Public-private partnerships are what made this country great." No, Mr. Bennett, the FREE MAKRET is what made this country great. Mike Rose is the ONLY "Taxpayer Hero" left in the Senate representing the Charleston, SC area. He was one of only 11 state...

Please vote here: For ***Mike Rose*** His opponent is a real-estate developer backed RINO that has tons of money. Mike Rose is the Charleston, SC area's ONLY Club for Growth "Taxpayer Hero" and his opponent, Sean Bennett, said tonight at the debate: "Public-private partnerships are what make this country great" (i.e. he's a lapdog of crony capitalism) South Carolina cannot afford to lose a conservative vote in the Senate to this RINO. And Sean Bennett has his army out stuffing ballots. Please go to and vote for ***Mike Rose*** (the other conservatives in the poll are Jordan Bryngelson...

  • Obama Pocket Veto Illegal and Would Set Dangerous Precedent

    10/07/2010 2:20:33 PM PDT · by daniel885 · 28 replies
Obama's pocket veto today is a dangerous precdent where Obama is basically asserting the right to an absolute veto (without the power to override) even when Congress is in session. Pocket vetoes can only be done when Congress isn't in session. But go to The Senate will convene tomorrow morning at 11:30 and also just convened on Tuesday. Here's what the Constitution says... "If any Bill shall not be returned by the President within ten days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the same shall be a Law, in like manner as if he had...

The New York Times is saying hundreds of thousands are at the National Mall... BUT... you have to give equal credit to Al Sharpton because half of the people must be there for that... "Two political foes – Glenn Beck and the Rev. Al Sharpton Jr. – are gathering hundreds of thousands of their supporters on the National Mall today for simultaneous rallies commemorating the anniversary of the March on Washington."

Rep. Eric Cantor, the number two Republican in the House of Representatives, said Thursday that a bullet had been shot through a window at his district office in Richmond, Virginia. He also said he had received threatening messages. He said he would not publicly release the messages out of concern that doing so would only incite further violence. He also accused Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine and Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland - a member of the Democratic House leadership - of "fanning the flames" of violence by using threats that have been made against Democratic members "as...

  • House GOP should offer Stupak language using "Motion to Recommit with Instructions"

    03/20/2010 10:03:46 PM PDT · by daniel885 · 12 replies · 823+ views
The House cannot pass a special rule on legislation that restricts the minority from offering a motion to recommit with instructions (even on a closed rule). A motion to recommit with instructions is a way to effectively amend legislation. (The whole House instructs the committee that reports the legislation to amend the bill a certain way and report it immediately back to the House "forthwith") The Republicans have, therefore, one shot at offering an amendment even when amendments are prohibited. They should offer the Stupak amendment. Why? Two reasons. If the House amends the Senate language, it has to be...
