An Israeli-Canadian peace advocate, feared to have been taken hostage in Gaza, has been confirmed killed. Vivian Silver, 74, lived close to Israel's border with Gaza in kibbutz Be'eri - which was attacked by Hamas during the 7 October attacks. Remains had been found earlier at her house, but they were only formally identified as hers five weeks later. Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly described Ms Silver as a "lifelong advocate for peace".

A female teacher allegedly sent nudes to a 16-year-old student and then invited him over for sex while her husband was out of town. Rikki Lynn Laughlin, 24, sent the explicit photos to the boy at St. James High School in Missouri - where Laughlin worked as a special education teacher, according to Maries County Sheriff Department. A search and rescue mission was underway Monday morning for a submarine that went missing off the coast of southeast Canada on an expedition to explore the wreckage of the Titanic. Lt. BENTONVILLE -- A Colorado man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after admitting he threatened the lives of a judge and probation officer. Theodore Howell, 29, of Denver, pleaded guilty Monday to threatening a judicial officer/juror and terroristic threatening. He was charged as a habitual offender. PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- Investigators say a man is in custody in connection to the murder of a woman on a north Phoenix trail. Investigators confirmed the suspect in his early 20s was arrested around 6:30 p.m. at his apartment near Scottsdale and Bell roads on Thursday, less than a mile from the trail where 29-year-old Lauren Heike’s body was found. Smith's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, and the Browns confirmed his passing on Tuesday. Authorities in Tennessee are preparing for the release of police officer body cam footage of Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old Black man who died three days after a traffic stop on Jan. 7.
