She discusses how the statistics have been skewed, double counting, etc. to make the virus appear to be more severe than it really is. She reads people's letters about the devastation caused by locking people away and not allowing dying family members to be with each other. Sounds like contact tracing is right around the corner and our Big Brother friends, Google and Apple, are planning help facilitate tracking our activities via our smartphones. Just curious if anyone has considered dumping the smartphone for a simple flip phone. I presume that my position can still be traced via the triangulation cell tower network but that resolution is limited. However since the simple phones don't have a GPS chip and "smart" capabilities, detailed positioning and track is not as easily available to Big Brother.

I have created an audio server (currently for music) that can play audio over the internet. It can be any type of audio. Not just music. The preferred audio format is mp3. It is portable too and can be moved to any internet client.

Hi Fellow Freepers, I just noticed that all of my computers on my network have had their DNS settings changed (hijacked?) to use Google's DNS servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. I am a little annoyed by this because I did not authorize this change nor did I know that it had happened. It must have happened within the past couple of days because my DNS service software/app was complaining that it was broken. Especially annoying because I have to manually change all of my computers settings back to the default/automatic passed down by the router. Also, this is a hardware setting....

My dad is in a nursing home and we need to sell his house to pay expenses. We have researched the tax laws and apparently, the threshold is $250K for capital gains. Anything above $250K is taxed at the capital gains rate. What is is now, 28%? This seems unreasonable but apparently true. At one point, I thought that all value for the place of residence could be excluded. Or the threshold was very high. My dad is by no means rich and he has lived in the house fifty + years.

While trying to save a little money, I discovered huge savings on various items used to treat my sleep apnea.
