From "45 Communist Goals", Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963 Current Communist Goals [1963]: 1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war. 2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war. 3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength. 4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war. 5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites. 6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist...

Raccoon Exterminator! I have been drawn between candidates and have not made up my mind. I just need some particulars before I follow the Pied Piper. Trump does bring some new ideas to the table. When was the last time you could vote for the ideal candidate? I’m old, and I've always voted. I can’t remember ever thinking any were ideal. We always have two choices, usually Tweedledee and Tweedledum. If you didn’t vote for Tweedledee you got Tweedledum. That’s the way it is folks. Now consider this… An interesting analogy. You've been on vacation for two weeks, you come...

Watched a program called "Great Planes" on the Smithsonian Channel. It was about the Doanld's Boeing 757 they call the "T-Bird". The program does describe the plane but more importantly it shows you a great deal about the man who owns it. It shows his attention to detail, his drive and I think maybe most of all, the way his employees and those who do work for him respect him. I recommend it as a good way to get to know the 'other side' of The Donald'. It could change your vote.

Thank you for contacting me to relay your concerns regarding Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, prisoner of war who went missing in Afghanistan in 2009. I appreciate you taking the time to share your views with me. As you know, on June 20, 2009, Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl went missing while serving in Afghanistan. Since that time, Islamic militant groups have released multiple videos showing Sergeant Bergdahl, the most recent of which was released in January with a reference date of December 14, 2013. As a former POW, please rest assured that I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to...

My Friend, Today, the Supreme Court just upheld Obamacare yet again. This is the direct result of President Obama and his Democrat allies in Congress. They forced ObamaCare on the American people with false promises and a totally partisan vote. My new Democrat opponent, Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick, is one of the strongest ObamaCare supporters in Washington. She even said her vote for ObamaCare was the one she "was most proud about." We all know ObamaCare has been a disaster, resulting in rising costs, lost jobs, and reduced health care choices for the people of our state. If you agree with...

Thank you for contacting me with your concerns about the targeting of Conservative organizations by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). I appreciate hearing from you on this issue. Like many Americans, I am disturbed by the idea that the IRS would target groups for their political beliefs. These actions by the IRS have caused many to lose trust in the federal government and in the agency's ability to administer our nation's tax laws. As you may know, in May 2013, the IRS Inspector General released a report stating that inappropriate criteria were used to identify 501(c)(4) status applications for review....

Thank you for contacting me regarding climate change. I appreciate knowing your thoughts on this issue. Last year, President Obama announced a plan to address climate change. Unfortunately, most of the Administration's proposals would simply impose burdensome regulations on American business that would be harmful to the U.S. economy. While I welcome the opportunity to debate proposals in the Senate, I do not support the use of executive orders to implement policy and place costly new regulations on the American industry. According to extensive international scientific studies, including reports by the National Academy of Sciences and the Intergovernmental Panel on...

My Friend, Earlier this week when the Senate was asked to vote on confirming Loretta Lynch as the next Attorney General of the United States, I voted no. During her confirmation hearing before the Judiciary Committee, Ms. Lynch stated her belief that the President's recent executive actions on immigration were "reasonable" and "constitutional." My Friend, I could not support anyone to be the highest law enforcement official in America who supports the President's clearly unconstitutional actions. That's why I cast my vote "NO." The job of the U.S. Attorney General is to represent the people of the United States and...

Thank you for contacting me about President Obama's nominee for United States Attorney General. I appreciate receiving your comments on this matter. As you may know, on November 7, 2014, President Obama nominated Loretta Lynch to replace Attorney General Eric Holder. On February 26, 2015, the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary voted to approve Ms. Lynch's nomination by a vote of 12 to 8. I voted in favor of her nomination. I believe that elections have consequences and that elected presidents should be afforded a certain degree of deference in the presidential appointment process, particularly when the nominee...

Thank you for contacting me about the President's executive action on immigration. On November 20, 2014, President Obama announced unilateral executive actions regarding the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws. Among other provisions, these actions seek to postpone the deportation of the parents of children who are either U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents and provide them with a work permit. Thank you for contacting me about the letter sent by Republican Senators to the leadership in Iran regarding a nuclear agreement. As you know, on March 9, 2015, 47 Republican Senators sent a letter to the leaders of Iran addressing a prospective agreement on Iran's nuclear program. Thank you for contacting me to relay your concerns regarding Iran and our efforts for a comprehensive nuclear agreement. I appreciate learning your thoughts on this important issue. For many years, Congress has recognized the threat of the Iranian nuclear program and has taken the lead on initiating sanctions. Over time, the economic sanctions imposed on Iran have increased their willingness to negotiate. On November 23, 2013, the Iranian government agreed to halt further expansion of their nuclear program in exchange for temporary sanctions relief and entered into extensive negotiations about a nuclear deal that would outline the final arrangements...

(These are two things of which there is a plentiful supply. Government and corporations always have a difficult time appealing to people, and usually do so almost exclusively with economic arguments.) * RULE 2: “Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Critics say the project's underlying objective is to convert non-Muslim children to Islam by bringing proselytizing messages into public schools under the guise of promoting multiculturalism and fighting "Islamophobia." The group recently ran an advertisement promising to pay 250 Czech korunas ($13 dollars) to any student aged 15 to 18 years who would attend a two hour presentation about Islam. More recently, Muslims in the Czech Republic have tried to ban a book they say is Islamophobic, and have filed a ten-page criminal complaint against its formerly-Muslim author. This transitory accord will last for six months while a permanent resolution concerning the Iran nuclear issue is created. Thank you for contacting me with your views on the health reform legislation passed by Congress in 2010. Three years after its passage, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) remains one of the most controversial bills ever considered in Congress. While I support improving our health care delivery system to bring down costs and increase access to affordable health insurance, and have put forth several detailed proposals, the PPACA is not the answer. As written, this legislation would lead to higher health care costs, increased taxes, trillions of dollars in new federal spending, $715 billion in cuts to...

For the United States, it should put its house in order before chiding others. Since the onset of U.S. subprime crisis in 2007, it was the country's domestic economic problems that triggered a disastrous financial crisis that swept the world. Excessive spending for many years has added up debts. Meanwhile, traditional strong industries such as finance and auto were devastated by the crisis, pushing up unemployment. In face of such serious domestic problems which probably could trigger a new global economic tsunami, many U.S. politicians seemed only to care about how many votes they could get, without having a single...
