I hear you. Way back in the early 90s ;) at my HS, we were allowed to go to Mass during holy days of obligation during school time (we were excused from class completely for the duration of the service.) This was a public HS, but people were just *slightly* more reasonable then. It’s funny how now it’s OK for an extreme minority to be granted such a boon, but if you’re in the Christian majority, well, to hell with you.

Yeah, I just don’t get this. Forget the usual PC crap: gay men get AIDS and lots of other nasty diseases at a highly disproportionate rate compared to the general populace—this is a fact. I don’t understand how anyone can reasonably refute this.

True, but how many teams are we talking? Are we now looking at ‘only’ 10, 20, 30 years? All of these certainly would count as “too long” in my book (since, again, we are only talking about 700 miles of a border that is many times that size.)

You are correct: it is, indeed, progress.
Of course, the fact that we’ll need 60 years or so at the current rate of “progress” just to construct the original 700 miles might strike some as a bit, oh, slow and this might engender some cause for concern.
