  • Trump's Original Plan?

Trump’s Original Plan? It's time to revisit the "Big Picture" as it looked when Trump first entered the race. Back then Trump was a very long shot to win the Republican nomination. The conventional wisdom at the time made perfect sense: No one could possibly expect to beat the gigantic war chest and immense party support behind Jeb Bush. Trump knew this, but decided to spend millions of his own money anyway. It does not seem likely that he would spend millions of his own money as a mere protest candidate. He must have had something else in mind. Based...

TODAY WAS A TURNING POINT Donald Trump's campaign, until today, has been much more than a mere "movement". It has been a peaceful revolution. Today that changed. Today was a turning point. If Trump had NOT "postponed" the event it would have become a major riot. It would have been easy for the MSM, GOPe, etc., to blame that riot on Trump. It would have been a bombshell of negative publicity designed to finally take down the evil villain, Donald Trump. By postponing, Mr. Trump defused the bombshell and may even have gained a few sympathy/anger points in Tuesday's elections....

Explaining Trump is easy: We have finally realized that regardless of what they SAY, there is very little difference between what the Republicans and Democrats actually DO once they are in power. We can not fix it within the system. We have tried that and failed miserably. So we have turned to outsiders (primarily Trump and Cruz). We are fed up with BOTH parties and want to fire essentially ALL of them. This is my attempt to explain Trump. Someone else can explain Cruz. Trump is not as pure as the driven snow. But we have tried pure before and...
  • Sarah Palin's new site is being blocked by Microsoft

Microsoft's "SmartScreen Filter" is blocking Sarah Palin's new website (sarahpalinchannel.com). When I went to the site anyway (it's hard to do), the videos would not play. Whatever is wrong may have been caused by a deliberately orchestrated group of people reporting the site as unsafe to Microsoft, or it may simply be that Microsoft simply does not like Sarah Palin. Regardless of the cause, it may help if people go to the site and click on the "Report this site does not contain threats" choice.
  • What will it take for the Iraqi military to be "ready"? (Vanity)

What will it take for the Iraqi military to be "ready"? The big news today centers on increased operational authority for the Iraqi military. This has been the plan all along. If they are ready, then this is a good thing. What will it take for the Iraqi military to be ready? First, the positives: 1. They have to be trained well enough to know how to fight at least as well as the enemy they face, and preferably better. I suspect they are. 2. They have to be equipped as well as (or better) than the enemy they face....

Midnight August 22nd By now everyone who follows the news knows Iran has something in mind for August 22nd. That's when Iran says they will deliver their answer to the UN's demands that they cease their nuclear weapons program. They have also said the skies over Israel will be lit up, just as they believe they were lit up umpteen hundred years ago when their prophet was supposedly carried up to heaven for a visit. Most people think Iran intends to do more than deliver a note to Kofi Annan on August 22nd. That's 11 days from now, give or...

Analysis: Government and IDF racked by unprecedented leadership crisis By Jonathan Ariel August 9, 2006 Relations between the country's political and military leadership are at the lowest point in the country's history, on the verge of a crisis. In addition, there is a growing lack of confidence between Chief of Staff Dan Halutz, the first CoS to hail from the air force, and many of his general staff colleagues from the ground forces, who say he and his "blue clique" [blue being the color of the air force uniform-ed] do not fully appreciate the nature of ground warfare. According to...

IRAN: Bad Moon Rising (Vanity) All living former Secretaries of State and Secretaries of Defense have been summoned to a meeting tomorrow (Friday, January 6, 2006). To the best of my knowledge this has never been done before. Our current Secretary of State is on a whirlwind tour of our allies, but will (presumably) be back in time for this meeting. Why? Why NOW? Is something up? These facts are not in dispute: 1. The current leadership in Iran is religiously determined to exterminate Israel, and to spread Islam to all the world. They have expressly stated that Allah would...

NICOSIA [MENL] -- Iran has warned that it plans to intervene in the Middle East, including in the affairs of such neighbors as Afghanistan and Iraq. In the first such high-level assertion, a leading Islamic military commander has placed the United States on notice that Iran reserves the right to intervene in the Middle East, Gulf and Central Asia. The commander said Iran would also seek to control events across the border in neighboring Afghanistan and Iraq. "Iran is in the center of three strategic and sensitive regions -- the Middle East, Central Asia and the Caucasus ," Maj. Gen....

IRAN should be the top story in the U.S. right NOW. And the implications of their current behavior, combined with other factors, should be a top concern right NOW. In short: For those Muslims who believe in certain prophecies, something must happen very soon or conditions will not be right for hundreds of years.A. Threats from Iran Not only has the "President" of Iran explicitly threatened to wipe Israel off the map, he has threatened the destruction of the "Anglo-Saxon empire" first. OPPOSITION REPORTS COUP IN DAMASCUS NICOSIA [MENL] -- The regime of President Bashar Assad, said to have fled Damascus, has come under severe strain amid its military redeployment in Lebanon. Lebanese opposition sources said the Assad regime has been divided over the decision to withdraw thousands of troops from Lebanon. The sources said some elements of the military have refused to follow orders for the pullout of troops as well as intelligence agents from both central Lebanon and the eastern Bekaa Valley. Syria's military was said to have increased deployment around Damascus amid tension within the regime. Opposition sources said...

Tests not accurate, but Canada may have SARS cases without symptoms Sunday, June1, 2003, 12:08 AM Toronto-AP -- The SARS tests used are not that reliable, but Canadian officials say it's possible that four people died of the disease without showing symptoms. All four died at a Toronto-area hospital recently. As a precaution, SARS tests were performed during autopsies. In three cases the tests came back positive. Results are pending on the fourth case. Still, health officials note that the tests' accuracy is limited, and the deaths remain under investigation. Canada is struggling with the largest outbreak of severe acute...

Canada's Probable SARS Cases Rise, Could Reach 70 Thu May 29, 7:26 PM ET By Rajiv Sekhri TORONTO (Reuters) - Toronto's probable SARS (news - web sites) cases more than doubled on Thursday as the city changed how it counts cases of the deadly disease in line with World Health Organization (news - web sites) recommendations, and doctors warned the number could go as high as 70 in coming days. Provincial medical officials reported 29 probable cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. The number, revised to conform with WHO guidelines, is up from 12 on Wednesday, when there also were...

WHO raises concerns about how Toronto's SARS cases are counted HELEN BRANSWELL Canadian Press Wednesday, May 28, 2003 TORONTO (CP) - The World Health Organization has raised concerns about a method of determining probable SARS cases adopted by the Ontario government earlier this week, a method which is having the impact of downplaying the size of the current outbreak in Toronto. The concerns were raised in a teleconference with Health Canada officials Wednesday. During the call, officials in Ottawa told their WHO counterparts that Health Canada planned to devise a new definition that would be more sensitive and would better...
  • Study: SARS Could Have Equalled Influenza of 1918

Study: SARS Could Have Equalled Influenza of 1918 May. 23, 2003 Without containment, SARS would have infected a majority of the world's population, equalling the deadly influenza pandemic of 1918. That's the finding of a study co-authored by Utah researchers. Ed Yeates reporting SARS infections appear to be dwindling. Singapore has it under control. Hong Kong is getting close; Toronto is there or very close. And so is Hanoi. But the respiratory disease initially was on its way to virtually shutting everything down. MATTHEW SAMORE, M.D., CHIEF CLINICAL EPIDEMIOLOGY, U OF U: "IN THE ABSENCE OF CONTROL, THIS VIRUS WOULD...

Studies: Diligence Can Contain SARS PAUL RECER Associated Press WASHINGTON - SARS could become a global epidemic if there were no efforts to control it, but vigorous public health measures can keep the virus from spreading and minimize the number of people infected, according to two studies. Researchers writing in the journal Science said the virus that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome is sufficiently contagious to spread around the world if left unchecked. But they concluded the killer disease will yield to rigorous public health measures such as quarantine and early treatment. Two research teams used mathematical models to predict...
