Ms Amy, my wife has a nephew that lives in Reno and she has been there several times with her sister. I've never been there myself but, from the pictures of Reno and Lake Tahoe that she took, it sure appears to be a pretty place.

Ms yorkie and Ms jaycee: I need some help. I've been writing a short Story and I've painted myself in a corner. If y'all have time, could you take a look at it and maybe give me some pointers on which way I should go with the plot?

I sincerely believe that the only reason the Dems have been able to grab the Commerce Clause and wave their arms to show that their programs are “delegated” has been due to the Republican desire to continue the largesse and control. They want the “benefits” but don’t want the blame so they don’t really mount a vigorous opposition to usurpation. They just pretend to.

If we have a future, it will be because some of the new folks stepped up and did what the RINOs refused to do. I have been encouraged by some in the House. Now, if we can just get a “new Republican” President.

Yall, it will take a special person to, at least begin, the roll-back of the Democrat Socialist Rampage of the pass couple of years.

We have a history on most of the Republicans in Washington and in state-offices and that has been a history of the “ratchet effect”. They can’t actively support socialist programs so they let the Dems do the dirty work and then when they are in control again, they find every excuse under the Sun to not abolish the un-Constitutional programs passed by the Dems. They love that lard! They wallow in it! They no-longer get the same high from the control they have and they need more! They either maintain or increase spending so that the deficit still increases. Maybe slower than with the Dems but still it increases.

It has been said: “There’s not a dime’s worth of difference between Democrats and Republicans” and I believe that is a true statement. However, there are also individuals running as “Republicans” that don’t just play a conservative T.V. They are the real thing and I really believe that some of that type are already candidates in this election and more of them will be getting in.

For the rest:

I would like to see criminal charges filed against any member of Congress that votes for any law or program that violates the Tenth Amendment..

I would like to see the incentive to pander reduced by term-limits. I know there is a down side to term-limits but we are dealing with very flawed individuals who seem to be compelled to pander wrapped in the cloak of conservatism or compassion and, in some cases, to pander bare.

We don’t want: Bob Dole, Episode VI, Return of the RINO.

We need a candidate that will roll-back some of the largesse and most of the party favorites will be “Ratchet Men”. Of those who would roll back the Progressive Programs, we will be told: “I like them but they can’t win”. The future of our republic may well rest on our reaction to that assertion.

Wait a minute! Maybe Camping didn’t say that we were going to be “raptured” on the 21st. Maybe he said that we were going to be “raptored” on the 21st. Since the chicken is the nearest living relative to the raptor and since the dollar is being turned into “chicken feed” daily, maybe he was right and we were “raptored” yesterday!

Well, since Ms Meg is still here, we know that Harold Camping, like many before him, was wrong about the Rapture occurring yesterday. If it was me that was shown to be a false prophet, I would have said: “eau contraire, all those worthy were raptured and all the un-raptured retreads left behind will have to contend with the seven years of Obama and if that ain’t Tribulation then please tell me what is.” But anyway, he couldn’t have made the case with Ms Meg still here.

The only way to reduce federal spending is by eliminating all federal agencies not in compliance with any of the enumerated powers in Article 1 Section 8. Doing so will dramatically reduce the size of government along with the associated costs. Any budget proposal that does not address this issue is nothing more than smoke and mirrors!

I think, Ms Jane, that maybe I had better explain the term
“un-raptured retread” since some may misunderstand to whom it refers.
According to Possum’s theory on The Rapture, everyone on the Earth today is an un-raptured retread.

A few years back, there was a movie called: “Defending Your Life”. In that movie, Meryl Streep’s character is going to get to stay in Paradise while Albert Brook’s character has to be born again. Possum decided that was really the way The Rapture occurred rather than folks disappearing in a pile of clothes with the subsequent crashing of cars and planes. He believes that when we finally fulfill the requirements for Paradise, we stay, otherwise we must be born again. I’m not sure if he is right but it works for making a point.

Well... It’s April Fools’ Day again but who is the joke on?

Folks the truth is that the document signed by the Framers on September 17th of 1787 is not a grand and glorious guardian of our rights but is simply the assembly instructions for the Federal Government. The Amendments to that document, added only because the political opposition to the Framers insisted they be added, have been successful at delaying the inevitable slide into tyranny only slightly.

Given our present population of un-raptured retreads’ propensity for “Give me benefits in my day”, without regard to the dire straits that causes for future generations of un-raptured retreads, and given Possum’s Law for the exponential escalation of evil among un-raptured retreads along with the politicians’ propensity to use tax money to buy votes, we may soon see billboards from the Articles of Confederation crowd that say: “Do you miss me yet?”.
