Should you fire a warning shot when confronted by an attacker? In some states it is legal to fire a warning shot and in others it is not. For example, California Penal Code 246.3 (negligent discharge of firearms) prohibits firing a gun in a grossly negligent manner, like a warning shot. As a felony conviction, it provides for up to 3 years in prison and a maximum of $10,000 fine. It is also a felony in New Hampshire, Tennessee, and several other states to fire a warning shot with similar penalties, if you are not justified. A friend in North...

Free Health Care?? - A Short Course in Brain Surgery After watching the video in the forward above, ask yourself: "Do we really want this here?" The seeds for this have already been sown in the so-called "stimulus" package. If you don't believe me, you haven't seen former N.Y. Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey's Bloomberg editorial on what was hidden in the "stimulus," there is more at Bloomberg, you'll have to search for this: Ruin Your Health With the Obama Stimulus Plan: Betsy McCaughey since linking to Bloomberg is not allowed.

They fled. It was all over the news. When the bullets flew, they fled. Leaving stations, abandoning posts, forgetting duties, hundreds of police fled. When the police response to gunfire was to simply run away, the city fell into lawlessness. Pundits rushed to the airwaves, proclaiming the city’s future hopeless. When the news of Hurricane Katrina first reached Mosul, the parallels were uncanny.

Thursday, September 29, 2005 Operation Rhma: Final Mission Much world travel has convinced me that the “average American” is a good person. But even a good person needs information in order to act effectively on their best impulses. Oftentimes, good things do not happen simply because information does not make it to the right people. I believe this was the case for a sick little Iraqi girl named Rhma. American “Deuce Four” soldiers found Rhma one night in Mosul. She needed serious medical attention. Doctors, nurses and others back in America, along with the soldiers in Mosul, worked diligently on...

The American Civil Liberties Union, or ACLU, loves to profess how they are the staunchest defenders of American freedom. They love to pound their chests and proclaim that they are the only thing keeping America from becoming a theocratic nation. Listen to an ACLU attorney and they will be all too glad to tell you they are busy defending innocents who are having religion imposed on them. They simply revel in their rhetoric don’t they? Yes, yes, they sure do love to toot their own horns and build themselves up as the cornerstone of what America is. What a complete...

Experts: Suicide Bombers Not Crazy Psychologists: Group Mentality, Goals of Iraq, London Killers Likely Can Drive Sane People to Suicide Attacks Aug. 6, 2005 - It's been said that the suicide bombers who cause the scenes of carnage and chaos relayed on American TV screens and front pages must be driven by a cocktail of religious fanaticism and outright insanity. However, some experts -- including people who are advising the U.S. government on terrorism -- said not only are suicide bombers sane, but also that anyone of us, under the right circumstances, could become one. "Absolutely, this is normal psychology,...

Well, there's a happy ending. After seeing the picture of the tearful Sophia on her dad's shoulders, aides said the president was sending her a little note Friday along with a signed campaign poster and an autographed photo of the Prez and his dog. "Dear Sophia" Bush penned, "Thank you for supporting my campaign. I understand someone tore...

A letter back from one of my "esteemed" Senators: I appreciate knowing your views on the Development Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act. I am pleased to be a co-sponsor of the DREAM Act, which will help thousands of undocumented students who wish to pursue a college education. An estimated 60,000 undocumented immigrants graduate from American high schools each year. Even though many of these graduates have lived in the United States for years and likely had no part in any decision to immigrate illegally, it is very difficult for them to attend college. Instead, they face possible...
