FIRST NIGERIAN ISLAMIC BANK GETS SET

Promoters of Nigeria's first fully fledged Islamic bank, which is finally to be launched and will be known as Jaiz Bank International Plc(JBI), say the bank will now open shop before the end of the year. In a bid to meet changing minimum capital base requirements, which was set at $200 million last year by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the lead promoters Jaiz International Plc, the holding company of JBI, embarked on IPOs and private placements between 2003 and last year as the first and second phases. The third and final phase of the bank's recapitalisation programme would...

Van Jones, in His Own Words (Van Jones -Black Racist - why is this not being discussed?)

And we’re willing to poison them and poison the earth to put food on our table, but we don’t want to give them rights and we don’t want to give them dignity and we don’t want to give them respect?
Conservatives In Action USA

This website was set up as a place for conservatives to meet on-line to discuss and form action plans to shape the direction of our country. There are many excellent conservative sites, but I was looking for something that conservatives could use not just to discuss the current issues, but to plan activities that will help us bring back conservative values in our country. Many of us would volunteer our time and energy if we knew we were accomplishing some good; not just reinventing the wheel. An on-line meeting place can help us get organized to find out what works...

Escape from Hamas

What is stronger than hate and bloodshed?

While Israel and Hamas engage in "all-out war" in the Gaza Strip, a FOX News documentary tells an extraordinary story of faith, courage, violence, betrayal and conversion.

Correspondent Jonathan Hunt's investigation goes deep inside Hamas, through a series of stunning exclusive interviews with the son of a founding member of the Islamic terrorist group. Mosab Hassan himself became the leader of the radical Islamic Youth Movement, fought Israeli tanks and troops in the streets, celebrated suicide bombings and recruited young men to the cause.

Community Organizing to Fight for our American Values

I am so tired of hearing that conservatism is dead. Many of us want to get organized to influence the 2010 elections and beyond. We need to start now. I had never attended a Republican party meeting before, but went to the local meeting after the elections. I was disappointed in the agenda and the direction of the party. The turn out (about 30) was low, but evidently more than they usually had. We volunteered to help with the data analysis of the elections and generated some interesting abnomalities. I sent in the results that we had and asked for...

Pa. felon-turned-philanthropist arrested for having gun

A convicted felon-turned-philanthropist who has offered up reward money in several high-profile cases, including the Alabama teen missing in Aruba, was arrested on a gun charge, authorities said Thursday. Federal agents discovered a handgun in a nightstand Wednesday while they were searching Joseph Mammana's home in the Philadelphia suburb of Yardley for evidence of possible mail and wire fraud, according to an arrest warrant. As a felon it is illegal for Mammana to possess a gun. He has a lengthy criminal record that includes convictions for aggravated assault, larceny and narcotics violations. Records showed that the gun, which was loaded,...

Cease and Desist Order in Andrea Clark Case

As a patient of St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, TX, Andrea Clark is in an extremely precarious position. Andrea, 54, suffered complications following open heart surgery that left her dependent upon a ventilator and dialysis for survival. Although her motor control faculties were damaged, according to her family, her cognitive abilities were unaffected. On April 19, St. Luke's informed Andrea's closest kin that her medical care would be discontinued in 10 days; an ethics committee decided to "pull the plug" in a flagrant act of (passive) euthanasia. Andrea has insurance and wants treatment. Her current doctor says "no". Through the...

MIM: The New Horizons School of Pasadena California has just been awarded a Blue Ribbon for Excellence from the United States Department of Education. Had the USDE done their own homework,(in the form of a cursory Google search) they would have seen that New Horizons is funded by the Wahhabist Islamic Society of North America whose goal is to turn the US into a United States of Allah. The first link on the Islamic School of Pasadena's website, to the Bureau for Islamic and Arabic Education in Los Angeles amply attests to their Islamist educational goals. The BIAE provides the textbooks...

Political Appointees Re-Write Commerce Department Report On Offshore Outsourcing...

The Commerce Department has responded to a half-year-old request by Manufacturing and Technology News for the release a long-awaited study on the issue of "offshore outsourcing" of IT service-sector jobs and high-tech industries. But the 12-page document represented by the agency as its final report is not what was written by its analysts. Rather, it was crafted by political appointees at Commerce and at the White House, according to those familiar with it. At an estimated cost of $335,000 -- or $28,000 per page -- the document MTN received from the Commerce Department's Technology Administration contains no original research and...

It's hard to get people to work on a sunny day! (Mary Landrieu's comment)

On this morning's news, E.D. Hill was discussing why the local buses were not used in New Orleans for evacuation. She claimed Mary Landrieu made the following statement: "It's hard to get those people to work on a sunny day!" This is similar to the statement that the mayor made, that no one was willing to drive the buses. But he added that they were taking care of their own familes. Her comment was much more telling. Their evacuation plans were woefully inadequate and they blame the victims. If they needed bus drivers, I'm sure they could have found volunteers...

Terri Schiavo’s case in Chicago ( 30 days without food, only water)

In a house on Chicago’s southeast side, a Mexican family is going through a heartbreak like the tragedy that befell the American Terri Schiavo’s family and deeply affected both those who defend the right to life and partisans of euthanasia. But no voices had been raised so far in this case because very few knew about the situation concerning the 39-year-old Latin woman whose husband decided to disconnect the tube that had been feeding her during her three and a half years in a vegetative state. As of the close of this edition, Clara Martinez, 39 years old and mother...

Chinese PM Seeks Indian Tech Cooperation

BANGALORE, India - China and India should work together to dominate the world's tech industry, bringing together Chinese hardware with Indian software, China's prime minister said Sunday.
DAY 1: FR_Addict and husband After driving 11 hours, we arrived about 12:30am on Thursday morning. We were able to park very close to the vigil. Perhaps 30 people were there. We went around and met some of the people there. The police told us to move behind the barricade, which we did. It felt surreal to be there after all this time. I decided to talk to the police to find out what they were thinking, so half-joking and half-serious; I asked why don’t you guys go on a “sick out”.
Terri's Support Leaders Arrested

This morning two of the main leaders of Terri's fight were arrested. We have been at the Hospice since early Thursday morning. We helped bail out strangers that made the personal decision to face jail because of the unjust laws and judicial decisions in this case. We are sitting in our hotel room and just saw two of the leaders get taken to jail. It was the first time I've cried since I've been here.
