Where was this douchebag when Spielberg released “Saving Private Ryan”? One of the most memorable characters was Private Jackson, played by Barry Pepper, who was the heroic Bible verse reciting sniper who gave his life in the process of saving possibly hundreds of American lives on the shores at Omaha beach and in the bell tower. Was he a coward too? Someone needs to ask this fat POS that question.

While I too anguish over the Roberts decision, in reality he was only doing what most conservatives want the SCOTUS to do, which is to interpret the law within the confines of its constitutionality. The Obummercare mandate IS a tax, and just because the lying scumbag president and his minions repeatedly lied about it doesn’t mean that it should have been struck down. In reality this is playing out to a best-case scenario because the more that this Obummercare deceit is unveiled, and there’s plenty more coming, the better the chances of the GOP congress for repealing certain parts of the law and replacing it with veto-proof common sense legislation that will make everyone happy for the most part. It will literally destroy what little is left of Obummer’s presidency.

From what I can tell from the photos, there are two possible causes - 1) pilot error in which the pilot lost the “feel” for his wheels or 2) altimeter error. This could still be pilot error if the pilot set the altimeter incorrectly on approach or if there was a mechanical problem with the altimeter. It will be interesting to see the NTSA’s report when they release it months from now

It was perfect VFR conditions, it wouldn't matter if the altimeter read 3,000 feet, you don't land using the altimeter unless you are in IFR conditions, the GPS controlled glide slope indicators are your main focus.

It was either major pilot error (my guess) or some weird downdraft that affected the glide slope in a way that shouldn't for an aircraft this size.

North DeKalb is in the GA 6th Congressional District, and has been again for some time. There was only about a 4 year period that it was not. With the 2010 census redistricting, even more is in the 6th this year than two years ago. Thank Fran Millar, among others, for that.

I'm in that no-man's land just west of Tucker, inside the perimeter. We're considered North DeKalb but the 6th hasn't made its way down here yet, but it's coming. They initially had drawn the 6th southern line down LaVista, which would have moved me, but the usual racist suspects went berserk and so they moved it up two miles.

She’s angry and not very bright. As are most of the voters in her old district. Considering the moronic racist Hank Johnson (Guam tipping over) replaced her and is an improvement, I actually think she has a reasonable chance of getting the seat back. She's a white hating, industry hating, government loving, socialist who feels that every black is entitled to be supported by whites. This attitude is very prevalent in her former district which was specially gerrymandered to ensure that the representative from there would always be black

This is so true, and I know because I live in the 4th here in GA. They grabbed the north section of DeKalb County where I live back when the Democrats controlled the state legislature, and the GOP hasn't been able to redraw the district thanks to the racists who keep bringing up the archaic Voting Rights Act here. Luckily the larger areas here are starting to incorporate as cities, and within the next 4 years they will have the chance to finally separate north DeKalb from the 4th. The news that McKinney is running on the Green Party ticket is a good thing, we've been hoping for it actually. The racists idiots that make up the southern half of this county still like her, and it could possibly split the vote enough to allow the GOP to take the 4th. It's a long shot, but it's possible. 12 years ago a black GOP female candidate came within 6 points of McKinney. I will praise the day when the McKinneys and Hank Johnson's of the world aren't representing my district.

The sad part is I feel for the boy; he wants to ditch the lesbo bull mom so bad it isn’t funny. Really tragic.

What people need to realize is that the Aggies have many potential legal obstacles but the most serious is Fox Sports. Fox Sports has made a billion dollar investment in the secondary TV rights for Big XII football based on the inclusion of A&M. This little timing ruse doesn't negate the apparent contract tampering that has already occurred.

How exactly does the conference affiliation of A&M affect the TLN? The agreement with the Big XII pretty much prevents the TLN from claiming games of major value (such as conference football games and men's conference BB games). Who really cares if A&M spitefully prevents broadcasts of Texas-Texas A&M volleyball matches and track meets on the TLN?

As an Aggie alum, why aren't you outraged at your administration for not getting off their butts and putting together their own network like UT did? The opening was certainly available for every team in the Big XII. You have to understand how "little brotherish" this looks to the rest of the country.

    1. A&M has absolutely no legal obstacle with FSN at all. The Big12 has the contract as a conference, the individual teams have no liability whatsoever. For example, suppose it is discovered that half of UT's football team was given a huge stash of Thai Stick by DeLoss Dodds himself to keep them occupied during the off season, and the NCAA gave them the "death penalty" ala SMU effective immediately. Could FSN sue UT for failure to play their games? No. FSN has no legal play in this whatsoever. Show me a contract between A&M and FSN and I'll show you a copy of a clean Ricky William's drug test.

    2. The conference affiliation has of A&M affects the Big12-2 because if we leave it only drives another nail in the coffin of its demise, and anyone can see that. If the Big12-2 collapses, the TLN is in more trouble than it already is, which is considerable. How many people are going to pay the extra bucks to see replays and analysis of UT playing Baylor and K-State? Playing OU can only get you so far, and if we bolt that will come into jeopardy as well. Btw Texas Tech is the only school who has refused to play on TLN so far

    3. As an Aggie alum, I'm DAMNED proud of our administration for standing up and facing the fact that we'll always be 'little brother' if we are forced to abide by some Orwellian machine that is forcing you into that situation year after year. As for the rest of the country, I live in SEC land, and believe me they are not laughing at us at all, only at those who think they rule the roost by some inherent God-given Texan-born right. I don't want a network, and neither do most Aggies. We don't need ESPN to throw money at us so they can constantly talk about how great we are when we go 5-7 with the best recruiting in the country. A&M will struggle in the SEC in football just like we have in the Big12, maybe worse, that is certain, but as time goes on everyone knows it'll be the best move we ever made.

On my way back from playing golf a few minutes ago they were interviewing some college football writers and it sounds like the deal is still on, but the SEC took the legal high road this afternoon. If the Texas A&M board of regents votes to join the SEC the SEC can then extend invitations for the "future" which would be decided later. There was a lot of legalese in the discussion which had to do with Big 12 lawsuits against the SEC if they extended an invitation first. What a mess!

This is correct. I'm an Aggie who lives in Atlanta in the middle of SEC land, and the meeting today was somewhat of a cover for A&M, the SEC cannot legally vote to add a team that is still a member of another conference. People have to realize that A&M is fighting a behemoth legal issue with the Longhorns and ESPN, who is desperately trying to save their $300 million dollar investment in with the Horns.

Loftin has it right, there is a tremendous amount of misinformation being spread, and ESPN is guilty of most of it. Just keep your seat belts buckled and see what happens in the following two weeks.

Right now A&M is the only confirmed school, they will make their announcement on Monday. ESPN is ‘projecting’ the other schools for a reason, and it’s intended to protect their interest in the LHN, but it’s an epic fail. The SEC schools vote today on admitting A&M (although they all have formally agreed except Vandy), and A&M’s Board of Regents meet on Monday, and ESPN is trying to stir the pot a little to shake up A&M and the Texas Legislation to try and protect their investment. It’s not going to work. These people are shameless, and eventually ESPN is going to pay for it.

Had I been her campaign manager, right after that whole ‘witch’ thing happened I would have played with it instead of against it...and made a TV commercial recreating a scene from the Wizard of Oz with Pelosi as the Wicked Witch of the West, and then cut in O’Donnell and Glenda, with some easily interjected dialogue. Most people don’t know how Democrat Wisconsin has traditionally been, that’s why even though I’m in GA I sent them a few bucks. The fact that the union thug machine spent approximately $166/voter and didn’t get a majority will break their back. There is no doubting this. If you add up the amount of money they spent between Prosser and this election, and failed on both, that is a heck of a lot of cash that won’t be going towards Obama’s misinformation campaign in 2012. Keep that in mind.

I just can’t fathom why people don’t look at the full picture and understand the game that the GOP has to play with the press to accomplish their goals. The 2 trillion compromise was a thing of beauty, a masterful manipulation to put Bambi over the ropes and allow for legal ramifications that have direct impact on written bills. Do you people understand this? Seriously, it’s process above primrose, and those who play the game to win with the smugness of liberals always show their hand one move too soon. Boehner showed that hand yesterday, and it was brilliant because he knew that it would piss off everyone. Considering Boehner is only in charge of 1/3 of the negotiations he has responded better than any other GOP person in power for years, especially the milquetoast Republicans who gave in to Clinton during the budget negotiations.

This has been a brilliant game of poker..and we are holding a full house right now thanks to some LONG awaited media savvy. Until we learn to play the game and support it, we are destined to fail until we unite and recognize the walls we are up against and the methods it takes to bring the truth..the real decider..to the forefront.

I’ll put her airframe up against any new aircraft of similar type built and guarantee she’s stronger and better constructed. Back then the people who built her in Kansas actually gave a damn about their jobs and the quality of their work instead of their union benefits and pensions, which were considered perks for a job well done. The great thing about older aircraft is that any mfg. flaws or other anomalies will have shown themselves years ago. Just update the powerplants and the avionics and you have yourself a sweet little ride at a fraction of the price for a new one, and with money left over you can have the cabin outfitted to look like a G5

Don’t worry. Here’s the issue with recall elections; they cost money, lots of money in fact that’s not budgeted. You have to take that into consideration when thinking about how that would effect voters in the state who turned out overwhelmingly to return to fiscal sanity. There is a lot of time between now and a recall going into effect and put up for a vote, and when the good, sane people of WI see a fiscally sound budget for the first time in a long while it will nullify any and all recall attempts.
The Fleebaggers will pay a dear price come their next election cycle, I have no doubt.

Can someone tell me what “integrated math” means? Is it based on some new-age philosophy or something?

Not really, it comes from Japan and other Asian and now European schools. Basically it is just 'integrated' components of math, i.e. Algebra, Geometry, Trig, and even pre-Calculus together during the same school year. For example remember when we were in middle school and took Algebra? Well now they have to learn certain aspects of all math components and try to make them work together. It's not a bad idea per se, but it is a major fail in the U.S. for two reasons:

    1. Students aren't prepped enough in math in grades 4-6 to be able to comprehend integrated math

    2. The vast majority of teachers are nowhere near educated enough in the various fields of other math to properly teach it. This is the main reason for it's failure.

As with most failures in our school system, it can be traced to liberal policies that it won't work here; teachers who actually are qualified aren't given proper status thanks once again to the unions interference in seniority structure. In Japan, where it works beautifully, only the teachers who are actually qualified can teach integration, and they have to prove themselves able to do so, something unheard of in this country.

It’s an incredibly stupid idea. Every time I’ve sailed into a foreign port, I get a visit by customs or the police. This is even true in yacht destinations like Antigua or Sardinia. Most countries have very strict gun control laws. They find a firearm on your boat and you’re going to experience “Midnight Express” first hand. If you need protection use a flare gun or a rocket flare. We’re talking range of up to several thousands of feet and burn temperatures of thousands of degrees. Fire one into a beat up pirate launch and it’s going to burn. Hit a pirate and he’s going to catch on fire. Most importantly, it’s not only legal but require to be on board. But the best solution is don’t sail in pirate waters!

I know what you mean, but you have to realize several of these piracy hijackings have occurred in international waters, there is NO way you could venture out of international waters with a sailboat secretly outfitted to be a gunship.

I'm talking about a boat manned by SEALS that is a decoy, ports of call are irrelevant. You wouldn't have to worry about their RPG's because you would catch them completely by surprise about 20 seconds before they boarded. Blow them up, and get the hell out of there and smoke a good cigar

You are very correct about firearms in foreign ports of call, my ancient Jeanneau has a hidden bilge compartment that was used to house the movable centerboard (she's a fixed keel now) and it's damn near impossible to find and I hide mine in there. There are two rubber floor rails that actually cover up the screw hole access so it's very concealed. One time in a small island in the Cyclades I had accidentally left my Colt in the nav station drawer and spent about 14 very unpleasant hours in the local police station where I was indeed having nightmares about biting off someone's tongue, especially since it was Greece

Stay in international waters, run the SEALS through some pretty heavy training, and drop two A200 mini torpedoes overboard once the pirates are trying to board and are about 60' away. There would only be small pieces of these scumbags left for anyone to attempt to piece together(pun intended) what happened.

By just 'not sailing in pirate waters gives them the victory, and about 30% of the Arabian Ocean and about 10% of the Indian Ocean, which is unacceptable.

I’ve always sailed with firearms, usually my Colt .45 and a 12 gauge.

If Obama had any balls at all he should get a group of Navy Seals to board a 50 foot sailing yacht with a couple of decoys on the upper deck and sail through troubled waters. When the pirates attack, it’s shoot to kill, period. NO prisoners, and blow their boat completely out of the water. It would only take two times and I would bet good money the piracy would drop by 80%.

We are still the minority party in ALL THREE segments of our government right now, and the RATS STILL hold 2/3rds of the government AFTER the new congress is sworn in. Do you not understand that the new Republicans elected don't take office until next year and that Nancy Pelosi still runs the show in the House? How the HELL are you going to get anything at all done without framing it in a way that you can adjust once you have the POWER to do so? That power is coming, albeit limited since we don't have the Senate (but control the negative view of government since we're still the minority) . I'm surprised at how so many Freepers these days don't grasp reality and am seriously beginning to question that most of you aren't left wing bloggers employed by the Carter Center and other liberal subterfuge outlets to confuse normally clear thinking individuals.

Think about this for a moment: Barack Obama just conceded his biggest campaign pledge while still holding an 59 seat majority in the Senate and a HUGE majority in the House. And yet you still think that a LOSS? Look at the big picture, and quit thinking inside your own little immediate satisfaction world.

I’m totally with you. We can’t be short-sighted here and look past the November results because we have to remember The Wicked Witch is still running the show in the House and she just not only thrown under the bus but it backed over her afterwards.

Think about this; the RATS still control 2/3’rds of the government after the January turnover, so the Repubs in the House put forward a bill that will force the Unemployment Benefits Extension Act be paid for by the remaining Stimulus money. We are talking about an epic battle here that the Repubs can’t lose if they play it right, and judging from what I’ve seen from Boehner, he’ll play it up perfectly. It would be the best start to serious deficit reduction and knock Obama on his backside so quick he wouldn’t know what to do.

Because of Obama’s puerile partisan speech tonight he just dug himself yet another hole with his arrogance. It’s a great thing to watch, don’t get mad at the small things and look at the big picture. This is a HUGE win no matter how you look at it and can be played politically for years. This is even bigger than “Read My Lips”.

After what I heard him say this morning about Catholics on his morning radio show, Beck is a disgrace

huh? I'm VERY Catholic and heard nothing to offend me. There sure seems to be a prevalent number of folks on FR these last two days using Beck's Mormonism to try and put wedges in his 'cross platform' message. Makes me wonder if it isn't some sort of infiltration attempt again.

"in full context of the discussion, he didn’t pander, and brought in Rev Wright to the discussion. He said he took it too far calling Obama a racist, but stood by the rest of the discussion. He didn’t apologize or take it back"

Exactly. Before you comment be sure you watched the interview and not just read Yahoo News' description of the interview. We should all know better. Beck wasn't near as aware of Obama's collective liberation theology when he called him a racist, and was only pointing that out, and didn't actually apologize, only that he mischaracterized and over-reached with his statement AT THAT TIME. BIG difference. Be sure to listen to everything he says too, because he's not backing down from his opinion that Obama does have a problem with race.

The left are sh*ting their pants

This is, in six words, the most substantive post, and observance, of the entire day. It is truly unreal, I have several friends who are far lefties, and their 'social media' posts today...Facebook, Twitter, etc..were apoplectic, almost beyond comprehension. It was truly the most reactionary, and uninformed bigoted response I've ever seen my entire life, and I've seen a LOT.

So for grins I did the math and converted the html into a xcel spreadsheet and ran the numbers for superficial non-descript jobs that pay over 100k in the “Airport” category alone and came up with $18.6 million dollars ANNUALLY that go to menial “civil” servants that, even under liberal standards, fall into the category of extra weight when examining budgets. ANY politician, Republican or Democrat, who enables and allows this kind of excess and insanity to not only exist but to fester and expand should be fired by the voters and never work in any management job again in their life. And yes Ah-nold, I’m talking to you too. Enjoy your retirement and get the hell out of the GOP.

From a Texan now living in Georgia:

    Dear Barry:

Your party has had the keys to the car since 2006, and W was a backseat driver. You, Nancy, and Harry drove the car off a bridge at Chapaquiddick 2008, and now you expect to swim away and escape with no political harm due to the coverage provided by the mainstream media. Guess what you arrogant bastard, the American voters are not going to lend a hand and pull you and your wretched filth out of the water this time you fool. Keep blaming Bush, for the love of all good just keep it up instead of running on your record.

I cannot wait to see your smug face on November 3rd.

Exactly, why the hell aren’t the Republicans constantly hammering home the fact that before the Democrats took over in congress this country was doing quite well, and in fact the deficit was DECREASING? What GOP policy exactly caused this financial mess? It boggles the mind to note the failure since Pelosi/Reid took over.

Can’t deny her talent, “Tapestry” is a one of the best singer/songwriter albums of the ‘70’s.

But after having to deal with her, she’s got some serious issues, but a lot of musicians do I suppose. She was just extra crazy and mean as a snake.

I’ve always disliked Spector after he ruined “Let It Be”.

James Taylor is a fantastic entertainer, but I will never pay money to see Carole King. I had some business dealings with her about 18 years ago and she is a shrew of the first order.
