[ Homosexuals were treated correctly in America of the 1950s. Kept in hiding. ]
The only laws I oppose in the 1950s were some laws that ENABLED the government to bust down your door for just suspicion of being a homosexual. That is just too much power to the government and violates the 4th amendment of the constitution.
Homosexuality should always be a social stigma like being a drunkard or a glutton. It is bad behavior and it has bad health consequences. It is funny how in the 1950’s smoking was seen as A-ok, but now it has the same stigma as being a homosexual in the 1950’s.
While not all stigmas should be encoded into the law, there are some stigmas that should definitely be coded into the law and those are most certainly things like pedophilia where you have an adult using their power as an adult to both physically and psychologically injure a child who cannot defend themselves and cannot even understand what is being done to them and the long term damage that is occurring to them to even know they should be fighting back.
While two adults of the same sex can go shack up as “confirmed bachelors” or “spinster sisters” no one cared. it was only when it shoved into our faces like a some sort of carnival display that they are overplaying the hand and trying to normalize the reprehensible.
