Our FRiend Windflier has passed. I've just gotten the news from his wife. He had been battling cancer for a while now. I'm sure the family would appreciate prayers,. Thanks.

I just got a call from Windflier's wife, he has taken a downturn from a pre-existing problem and is pretty much bedridden and not eating. He has stage 4 Squamous cell carcinoma which I had to look up:Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the second most common form of skin cancer. It's usually found on areas of the body damaged by UV rays from the sun or tanning beds. Sun-exposed skin includes the head, neck, chest, upper back, ears, lips, arms, legs, and hands. SCC is a fairly slow-growing skin cancer. I'm told he's in good spirits but is now "resistant"...

A drug house bust in Montgomery County led to one heck of a photo op for Libby, a new K-9 narcotics unit pit bull. Around 3:30 p.m. Monday, Libby and Precinct 4 constables were called to investigate a potential drug house in Splendora, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter. The suspect inside, Michael Walker, copped to possessing a small amount of marijuana, but denied possessing anything else. However, after receiving consent to search the home, Libby and the constables found three mason jars and a food storage bag filled with marijuana

This past weekend, 7/26 and 7/27, Jim & Chris Robinson, Syncro & I met up near McAllen, Texas to observe first-hand the situation at the border along the Rio Grande. My report is as follows: Border Patrol Station Operations: Friday and Saturday we set about observation of the McAllen Border Patrol Station at 3000 West Military Hwy. Buses were indeed seen leaving at intervals throughout the day. It was mentioned on this thread that a warehouse was being used to stage illegals for transport elsewhere. Its location had been reported as 3700 W. Ursula Ave (Thanks to Buckeye Texan here)....

Today at the Mexican Consulate just south of downtown Houston a protest against the illegal alien border surge was staged by concerned patriots. Apparently the word got out to the opposition forces. There were 25 to 30 illegals and associated supporters there as well. Our side numbered from 40 to 50 while I was on site. We were staged on opposite sides of the street. The illegals (they proclaimed themselves so, chanting "undocumented and unafraid") had a small public address system and had a designated wise-ass on the mike leading chants and taunts which actually were pretty comedic. A federal appeals court has overturned a lower court judge's ruling to postpone the execution of a convicted serial killer until the state could divulge the source of the lethal drugs that would be used to kill him. The execution will now proceed

Today there was an "Impeach Obama" demonstration on the overpass in New Caney, TX. Granted, there isn't much to New Caney.. we've only got the one overpass. All told there were maybe a dozen folks in attendance. Here's pictures: Also nice to see were some young folks there. We got a lot of support from the traffic which was gratifying. I only learned of this event this morning, and I'm told not a lot of planning went into it. Next Saturday the effort will continue a couple of miles south in the thriving metropolis of Porter which has no overpass...
