As a Republican whenever you hear the words “ballot harvesting allowed” you know you’ve lost that race. Democrats just stole the 2020 election in North Carolina and Republicans did not even put up a fight.

Full title: Relying on the Same Illogic That Trump Used to Ban Bump Stocks, a New Lawsuit Argues That Customizable Rifles Are Illegal A new lawsuit against the manufacturers of guns used in the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting claims that AR-15-style rifles are illegal because they are compatible with bump stocks, which increase their rate of fire. The plaintiffs, parents of a woman who was murdered in the Las Vegas massacre, argue that bump stocks like the ones used in that attack convert semi-automatic rifles into illegal machine guns—a position that has been endorsed by the Trump administration. Therefore,...

“Q The suspect in the Virginia Beach shooting used a silencer on his weapon. Do you believe that silencers should be restricted? THE PRESIDENT: I don’t like them at all.”

On the first day of the new Congress, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., brought back the “Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act.”

I want to point out something that needs to be considered in light of the bump stock ban. Given the wording of the regulation, many reasonably asked if binary triggers would be affected. Leaving aside the fact that the ban is based on a lie as brazen as claiming the sky is green, it turns out the new regulation does not ban binary triggers. From page 83 of the ruling: "The Department disagrees that other firearms or devices, such as rifles, shotguns, and binary triggers, will be reclassified as machineguns under this rule. Although rifles and shotguns are defined using...

How many times per year does a gun go off in an American school? We should know. But we don't. This spring the U.S. Education Department reported that in the 2015-2016 school year, "nearly 240 schools ... reported at least 1 incident involving a school-related shooting." The number is far higher than most other estimates. But NPR reached out to every one of those schools repeatedly over the course of three months and found that more than two-thirds of these reported incidents never happened. Child Trends, a nonpartisan, nonprofit research organization, assisted NPR in analyzing data from the government's Civil...

The White House will be encouraging states to consider enacting a law Connecticut pioneered that allows the seizure of guns from people who might hurt themselves or others, administration officials said Monday. Connecticut passed the measure, known as a “red flag law,” in 1999, in response to a mass shooting at a state lottery office. It allows two law enforcement officers, or one state’s attorney, to petition a court for an “extreme risk protection order” to temporarily take away an individual’s guns.

Update on VT gun control bill

Update to magazine ban bill in VT. Quoting OP's update: Update bill is going to the senate judiciary. Email these people first asking to remove the mag ban from the bill. rsears@leg.state.vt.us jbenning@leg.state.vt.us jwhite@leg.state.vt.us anitka@leg.state.vt.us

I am calling for your help. As you probably know VT is under assault. The state house just passed a bill with a high cap mag ban among other things. It has to go back to the senate which already passed a version of the bill without the mag ban. We need a couple senators to flip their vote now that the mag ban has been added to stop at least the mag ban portion of the bill. Here are some of the senators that could be emailed and swayed to change their vote. Please email them and tell them...

I received an email from my Google/YouTube rep at 9:30pm tonight. He requested an emergency meeting tomorrow to discuss YouTube's new policies regarding firearms content. This is really bad. Please read this carefully and a couple of times, and let it sink in. 1/3rd of my videos or more will need to be removed. If you don't have them removed in 30 days, your channel will be deleted for policy violations. I wish this were a joke. It's not. I feel horrible for reloading channels or NFA channels. Showing how to make ammo or even showing the installation of a...

Donald Trump will propose arming school staff and raising the minimum age to purchase certain firearms to 21 in a school safety proposal the administration will release on Sunday, a White House spokesman said. The proposal on age limits for gun purchases will put the president on a collision course with the National Rifle Association, which endorsed him and donated to his White House campaign.

I need prayers for myself. My wife got upset at something someone at church said. Yeah, I know, old story. This is in addition to a litany of other complaints she has that boils down to "I don't have any friends" and "I'm angry and jealous towards people who have things I want that I don't have." As you can imagine, those two are related. She is refusing to go to our church. While I could (and did consider) putting my foot down on the issue, I believe it would've done more harm than good to our marriage. Sometimes people...

Do we have any tea leaf readers who know where the votes have been counted in Michigan? DT is up there now, but wondering if we are going to get a bunch of dem votes from the cities. But if the cities are already counted....

It is good and proper for a person to admit when he's wrong about something. I was wrong about the FBI. For impugning the honor of the honest agents at the FBI, of which there now appears to be quite a few, I apologize. For a few weeks now my position on rumors that there was dissension in the FBI was "until some sticks their neck out and does something, it's meaningless talk." From what we are hearing now...necks are being stuck out for America. God be with them.

Did anyone else catch that bit about enforcing a no-fly zone over Syria? We could do that, but it would mean aerial combat taking place between US and Russian aircraft. I don't know about any of you, but I don't see Syria as something worth risking even a conventional conflict with Russia over. Also, it's a bad idea of nuclear powers to fight each other directly. The potential for a nuclear conflict is high, and given the number of warheads we and the Russians have, that conflict would be a disaster of literally biblical proportions.

I don't usually do vanities. I think this situation warrants it. I am getting sick of seeing republican establishment types publicly declaring their support for Hillary Clinton. I get it. You country club republican gentlemen, and I use that term generously, don't like Trump. I didn't vote for him either but for better or worse, he's the nominee. STOP trying to sabotage him. I'm looking at you Paul Ryan, Charlie Dent, and whoever that weasel from Illinois is that was on TV last night talking about it. If Hillary Clinton becomes the president the Supreme Court will be dominated by...

I don't really have anybody I can talk to about this that would understand. I don't expect FR too either, but it's as good a place as any to vent. You know what I do? I get up every day and go to work. I do my job and get my work done. I come home. I do it again the next day. And then again, and again, and again. When I am dead, the most anyone will ever say about me is "he went to work ever day". If I were to simply drop dead, everything would pretty much...
