  • Why are good men so hard to find?

There is some truth to what you say, but it leaves some things out.

I always chose not to make unwanted advances. I chose to be a gentlemen. I always chose to be respectful.

By secular reasoning, these were bad choices. I was socially punished for doing the right thing. If I had been born a complete asshole, I'd have had a much easier, much happier life.

That was never really me, however, and I coudn't just make the transition to that. Some men can. Do I approve? No. Do I blame them? Not really. It's not hard to see why things are done the way they are.

Good for you and good for your son. Your sample of two does not reflect the trend.

    I’m also already married.

Maybe it’s dead in your world, but not in mine. Sorry for your unfortunate path in life.

My "world" consists of those under the age of 40. And yes, it is largely dead here, with a few exceptions here and there.

Traditional marriage is dead and has been for a while. It’s *not* coming back. Adjust to the new reality and proceed from there.

There is truth in what you say. I’ll pile on some.

I went off the script a couple of times when dating, in that I dated a few non Christian women.

They were, compared to the other women I dated, well adjusted and had their lives put together. Were it not for the command to not be unequally yoked I’d have jumped ship on dating inside the church right then. That command of God is the only thing that held me there because the Christian women I dated were uniformly borderline personalities or straight out narcissists. They were emotionally stunted, unpleasant harridans, except for the top few women. Being more of an average man, those top women were never available to me. That’s ok, that never bothered me at all. I’m nothing if not a realist. I figured an average guy like me would seek out women in my own league as it were.

    That didn’t work so well.

In general, my observation is that of the few women my age that were average desireability, they refused to give average men the time of day. They fought each other through their 20s over the small proportion of top men, because they were princesses who only deserved the very best according to mommy, daddy, and the false feminist Christ the churchians taught. Then when they reached 35 they realized they weren’t going to win that game. So they fell back to Average Joe.

Average Joe was not amused and took a pass on that shit deal. With the good days of his youth cast aside like so much trash, he saw no reason to go there.

If I had a son I would advise him against dating Christian women unless he was unusually attractive to women or scored a high paying secure job right out of school, and even then I’d counsel a lot of caution and advise being extremely picky. We would also be dispensing with the traditional “gentlemanly” behaviors as they are wasted on this generation of emotional illiterates.

If I seem bitter I, I don’t mean to. If people don’t like it...well, I hate it for them. If I had grown up in my parents generation I’d have done well, but I didn’t. Liberal social values took away the best years of my youth, and even if things changed right now, I still can’t get those experiences back.

So yes, I have every reason to be displeased with how things went. I have no moral obligation to further participate in a system designed to destroy and consume me for the convenience of others. I also have a moral obligation to warn young men of what they are about to face whether anybody likes it or not.

    Rant over.

“My son is now 22 years lod and has had few dates as he says he can’t find a girl that isn’t narcissistic to the point of being a sociopath”

Narcissistic Personality Disorder is now the norm among young women not the exception.

That unfortunate fact pretty much destroyed any happiness that comes with coming of age for a young man. What older people see as the time of life where you are enjoying getting to know ladies and making your way towards marriage was, for me and most my age, a nightmarish death march towards an end we weren’t sure we wanted anyway.

    Article is tone deaf.

Dating in my early 30s as Amman is among the most traumatic things I’ve experienced. Women my age are poisonous, and all the good ones are being monopolized by all the wealthy or otherwise above average men (80/20 rule. 80% of the good women are competing for 20% of the top men).

For more average joes like me that left the poisonous and toxic for us to pick from. It also leaves most women single and childless by their mid 30s but by then, the remaining pool of men has either decided on their mates or said “to hell with it” and thus those ladies are left in the cold.

This is the sort of process that goes on in primitive tribal societies. It shouldn’t happen in a civilized society where marriage is a stable institution.

IE, marriage is dead in the West. The form of it continues but in truth it’s done and over with.

    Green eyes are beautiful!

I'm partial to blue and not because mine are blue. Most beautiful woman I ever saw had blue eyes. They were the color of the clear, cold winter sky. She was from one of the Scandinavian countries, heart stoppingly beautiful. A smile that would steal your breathe. You just ached to look at her.

Lloyds of London needs to buy about 100 of these and deploy them with crews on ships as they transit pirate infested waters. Mount it on top of a container and transfer them between ships as needed. I see your RPG and raise you a 105. Add flir for sighting. The inside of the container would hold a generator, ac, ammo storage, a command station and crew quarters. Drop 1 2,3, or 4 on the deck. Might want to modify it to give a little more depression.

Provide canister rounds for when pirates approach in speed boats or inflatables. That would likely generate some lulz.

Simple answer. Collectively, they don’t have the military muscle to “deal” with NK.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. SK has an advanced military. I suspect they may not have the warm bodies to enforce an occupation of the North, but they do have the capability to crush their conventional warfighting capability in a very short period of time.

I don’t wish suicide for anyone or for anyone’s family to experience it.

My neighbor took his own life two years ago. He’d just retired from the post office with a good retirement, had a nice house, and beautiful loving wife.

No one knows why he did it. No suicide note, nothing. He was apparently happy. His wife doesn’t even know why. One day he was fine, the next he’d killed himself, just like that.

It was miserable and depressing and even though I didn’t know him extremely well, it still bothers me. I can’t imagine how his wife gets through day to day.

Camille Paglia is a rare, principled liberal. Very intelligent and eloquent even though I likely disagree with her on most things.

We are luck most liberals are not like her. If they were, we would’ve long since been beaten to a pulp politically.

My understanding is that a pardon makes it as if the conviction never happened.

I.E. if he is ever asked if he was convicted of a crime, he can legally answer “no”.
