Several years ago, my best high school friend in New Orleans, who had become a lawyer, was appointed a judgeship in Jefferson Parish, La. Having gotten the judgeship appointment, he sought out advice on how to properly adjudicate the cases he had to rule on.

This is the advice he personally told me he received.
“Take care of your friends, for the rest “justice”.

Same thing with Mochael Berry in Houston in KTRH. He has gone off the deep end and in doing so brought out a side of him that people had not seen before. He is a mean SOB..

Berry is on WJBO, Baton Rouge, from 5p to 7p, followed by Levin and I have given up listening to their incessant ranting against Trump every hour, every day, of their show, just as you and others have done.

Berry’s wife is from India and I can’t help but wonder if he or his wife was looking for appointment as ambassador to India in return for his outlandish support of Cruz. I wonder what he will rant about when Trump actually becomes the candidate and then buries Hillary in November.

Between the election in November and LSU football it will be an interesting fall season. Geaux Tigers, Geaux Trump!!!

You are not ready to be a “small business” if you do not know what “working capital” is, where it comes from, and how you will go out of business when you run out of “wc”. I could tell you what it is but you need to learn for yourself.

Have you talked to your present insurance agent about the conversion of your personal property to use as a commercial entity? When you do, which you probably have not done, get the cost of liability insurance and find out if state law requires workers compensation to be carried if you incorporate, even if you are the only employee? What will the cost of wc be if required by the state.

You will be selling a product, so “Product Liability Insurance” will be needed along with “Premises Liability” coverage. What will that cost? The casualty insurance company will probably send an “Inspector” to your premises to see if there are any hazards that could create a liability claim, such as a “slip and fall” which Walmart has to deal with on a daily basis. Also, they will question what chemicals you are using in the growing of the products you wish to sell. DO NOT SICK THE DOG ON THE INSPECTOR. He will be reporting on your “ATTITUDE” as well as the physical hazards of your property. That is known as “MORAL HAZARD”.

Will you be using your personal vehicle for business purposes? If so, this will require a reclassifaction of vehicle usuage from personal use to business use. Cost?

Do you have the mechanical equipment necessary or do you intend to use a mule and a plow. Equipment breaks down at the worst time and shop rates run as much as $100 an hour plus parts.

Do you have an attorney lined up to help with the issues involved with the agricultural business you intend to operate? What is his hourly rate and will he require a retainer? Does the state require an “occuptional license to operate what you intend to do? Cost and what are the regulations the state imposes by means of inspections with fines and penalties for non-compliance which newbies are prone to incur for their lack of knowledge and experience. Does the state require a sign at the enterance to your location?

Have you contacted the Farm County Agent for any advice he might have from a business viewpoint of operating in the county you will do business in? Is your property subject to flooding which is most likely to occur in the spring when crops are coming up.

DO NOT PLAN ON DOING YOUR OWN TAX RETURNS!! Find a CPA for that and ask him what business accounting software he recommends that you can use and also transmit your sales, expenses to via internet connection.

DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS! Put up a large, readable sign > CASH or CREDIT CARDS ONLY! Being a new business you may run into a problem establishing a relationship with VISA, MC, AE, DISCOVERY, ETC. If you accept CC’s, know what the fee is and that has to be included in the sales price of what you are selling. SALES is where your CASH will come from and if SALES does not exceed expenses, including your take home, obamacare, IRA, then your ASS will be broke within 12 to 18 months.

Most of the time, sales do not come up to predictions and expenses exceed expectations for start ups and that is why they go out of business within a year or two (run out of Working Capital). If you have to borrow, the bank will require collateral, which will be your real estate, land and buildings.

The worst loan you can make is not to remit to the IRS the employment taxes that are due. This is the easiest loan to make but the WORST loan you can make. In your budget plan, make sure you know what taxes you have to remit and when they are due (penalties & interest) and that this is the top priority when it comes time to write the business expense checks. The IRS is not a friendly lender.

Try to find a “MENTOR” in your area, older and retired, who would be willing to share his knowledge and experience with you, especially about the effects of local weather patterns and how to deal with customers. On busy weekends you are going to need part time help, a Workers Comp exposure.

Try finding senior folks who need some additional income and have some sales background experience as far as dealing with retail customers and will also show up for work. Young people tend to party a lot on weekends and come to work not feeling too good (hungover).

Good luck and I hope you succeed... been there and done that!

Yesterday, Saturday, I voted for Trump in the Louisiana primary and wore my 1964 Goldwater badge to the poll. I was active in the 1964 presidential election and back then the establishment existed and was called the “Rockfeller Republicans”, today called the RNCe.

Goldwater was doing quite well in the fall of 1963 against Kennedy but after Dallas the tide turned against him but he did carry Louisiana and five other southern states.

I have a recording of his acceptance speech in San Francisco that I will have to give a listen to today after I mow the yard.

“I ask this question because my observation, especially of Fox News, is that the strategy is to avoid mentioning Cruz. All the conservative websites show that commentators overwhelmingly favor Ted Cruz. By limiting Cruz references, the leftist media hurt Cruz with the low information crowd.”

As a 1964 Goldwater Republican, currently a Tea Party person, I suggest the election of Trump/Carson in 2016 with the appointment ASAP of Cruz to the Supreme Court where he can do a lifetime of work for the Conservative cause in support of Trump for eight years and then if we are smart and lucky, Carson for the following eight years.

During this period of time an all out effort to weed out the RINO’s by any and all means, short of assassination, from the Congress can take place at the State level.

One of several big problems that Trump/Carson/Cruz will encounter, if elected, are the Federal Agencies populated with Democrats/Leftists who will do everything they can, with the help of the media, to sabotage a Republican/Conservative Executive, Congressional, Judicial Federal government. This Administration portion of the government numbers in the thousands and it is going to take time to replace these Utopian air heads with a more conservative leaning government work force that favors the U.S. Constitution, especially the Bill Of Rights.

I have not heard any discussion on this so far, but IMHO will be one of the major problems to be faced by a conservative group of elected leaders... whoever they may be.

I am 82 going on 83, so I will not be here when the groceries you need are totally controlled and dispersed by the Super, Super WMart in your community. Your and your family dietary needs will be computer generated and converted into a two weeks supply of food for you and your family. You will go to the Government Grocery, ID yourself and pick up the bags/basket of what the government had determined you and yours need for the next two weeks. You may have the choice of one optional food item to add to your food allotment.

The cost of your food allotment will be deducted from your Earnings Account, into which your employer has deposited ALL of your government determined earnings from which your taxes, medical and retirement account allocations have been deducted and then from the balance of your Earnings Account will come the deductions for your groceries, your rent at the government housing. You will have a debit card to use for your transportation and clothing needs. Unless you are a member of the ELITE, that is all you will need to get by on. There will be government provided entertainment to which you will a certain number of tickets to use for attendance unless you become a forced participant in whatever the entertainment is that day.

You get the idea of what the Progressives are planning for you and all the plain, working class of humans and can probably add some of your own projections to this sad forecast.

Should ISIS be in control by then, you won’t have this to worry about because as a kafir, you will already be long gone.

In the early 1930’s, no one thought that Hitler/the Nazis would be exterminating the millions they did away with.

Grocery store dry dog food has as the first or second ingredient GROUND YELLOW CORN, which is a complex carbohydrate, difficult to digest, and responsible not only for the smell but the large pile of crap when your dog takes a poop. Next time you are in a Pet Smart store, look for the NUTRO dog food, read the ingredients label, then go to the SCIENCE DIET, PEDIGREE, PURINA, et al, bags and compare the ingredients listed in the INGREDIENTS label found on the back of the bag.

Not only do these foods have corn, they also have POLTURY/CHICKEN BYPRODUCTS as the protein source. BY PRODUCTS are the head, feet and guts of the poultry source - the stuff people do not eat.

Once in a while I got to go to a movie. I went to see “Sergeant York”, not once, not twice, but three times while it played in Nacogdoches.
I was nine years old at the time and do not remember much of the movie itself. I do remember that the movie ticket cost five cents and a bag of popcorn was also a nickel.

It is hard to believe that he was able to do what he did.

Failure to do that, or remove a tag that wasn’t yours, was a firing offense where I used to work. I wonder if their insurance covers stupidity?

This is a workers compensation claim which provides absolute liability coverage to the employer for work incurred injury even when caused by a fellow employee. The act of stupidity was not having someone posted at the switch to prevent this from happening while the machine maintence was being done. The foreman/supervisor on the job is who bears primary responsibility for this dumb ass action to occur, IMHO.

The employer is stuck with the financial cost (medical, loss of income) of the injury which will be paid by the workers compensation insurance company and in the following three years will pay an experience modification increase in wc premium for the cost of loss > medical, loss of income > probably about $300k or more.

In a state wide race in Louisiana, the Demorats get 96% of the black vote, the union vote and also are supported by the Sheriff’s of the different Parishes; add to that the white liberal eggheads and it comes awfully close to 50%, plus the mayor of N.O. is ML’s brother.

It will be a close election, IMHO....

IMHO, Cassidy is a well concealed RINO. If he were the only opponent to ML, I would hold my nose while casting my vote for him. My choice is Manness, the teal party choice at this time and also of Michael Berry, who hates Landrieu.
