  • National debt by the numbers: Just how big is $20 trillion?

My concern about this huge debt is just who has this amount of cash to keep lending to the US government? Next, what are the interest payments on this debt and is it actually being paid or simply added back to the existing debt? Also, if it is considered impossible to pay off this debt, why do the sources of this lending keep lending more cash to this insolvent nation, considering the unfunded liabilites that exist as well. A curious deplorable wants to know...

Correct me if wrong, but the current immigration situation the USA is in is the result of the immigration law change enacted by Edward Kennedy (brother of JFK) is what has brought about the mess we are now in. Solution, just cancel Kennedy’s legislation and revert to the immigration law that had been in existence and worked well for many years prior to 1965.

Just get rid of what is not working and revert to the immigration law that used to be and helped develop and grow the country.

In my college years at LSU, 1952 to 1956, the tobacco companies paid students to hand out to fellow students free sample packs, six to the box, to students as they went from class to class. I did not smoke, my girl friend did, so I would take a sample pack for her. I am sure this happened at other college campuses as well.

Back then a pack of cigs cost about twenty five cents and doctors appeared in advertisments saying smoking was OK to do.

The advice you are giving is VALID only if he has PHYSICAL DAMAGE/COLLISION coverage in his auto insurance policy. If he only has liability coverage, his ins company is not going to do diddly squat for him. GOT THAT?

Normally, the negligent driver’s PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY responds to situations like this, based upon there being a clear case of NEGLIGENCE in causing the accident. Insurance agent’s accept claim reports from their customers but normally have no authority to handle/settle/pay claims, especially liability claims which involve proving negligence of the insured driver caused the accident.

If the third party ins company is slow to pay or declines to pay, then if he has collision insurance coverage in his policy he submits the claim to his carrier for payment of damages minus the deductible. Having paid the claim the ins company will then SUBRAGATE the paid claim to recover the paid claim and usually includes the deductible incurred by the policyholder on behalf of their policyholder.

If after going through all this, he still has problems, then calling the insurance commisioner’s office for assistance is the next step to take. If this does not work, then he seek legal counsel to sue “the bastard” and pay the lawyer for his service and time.

These are the steps followed during my 25 years as an Independent Insuranace agent which are still probably being followed at this time. GOOD LUCK...

Mr. Copeland lived in a very nice house at the intersection of Transcontinental Blvd and Folse Dr with the Lake Ponchtrain levee in his back yard. Every Christmas he had a huge dislay of lights, etc placed in the front yard that drew lots of traffic to the neighborhood from all over Orleans Parish. Created one hell of a traffic jam in the neighborhood.

My best friend from high school lived across the street and got invited to the annual Copeland Christmas party along with the other neighbors. Copeland liked cars and there were always some very nice models to take a look at.

The Great Flood of August, 2016 inundated the Popeye’s in Denham Springs< La and it still has not reopened. Miss the store very much and at this it looks like the store will not reopen at all.

The Internal Revenue Code should promote moving manufacturing jobs and processing jobs back to the United States and away from India, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Change code to disallow expense tax deduction for payrolls going to these offshore entities. Only allow tax deduction of employees at work in the United States. That will get their attention very quickly.

WJBO, 1150am, Baton Rouge, La, has Berry on from 5pm to 7pm, following Hannity.

I happened to be tuned in when he lost his cool with the caller. He seems to be having a problem with his Trump supporter listeners giving him a hard time for his anti Trump stand for many months and now having to choose between Trump or Hillary.

His wife is from India and has a position in Texas state government. He was a Cruz supporter all the way till Cruz lost out and then took a hard headed anti Trump approach despite his audience in Texas and Louisiana being for Trump and continually questioning him for his anti Trump stance.

He also projects a jealous attitude toward Rush and Hannity for their success on talk radio.

I’m sure they have no problems writing off the loss

In order to write off the loss, you have to have taxable income.

The reason these folks have a problem is that they are no longer the celebrities and have lost their celebrity income, ergo they do not have income to be offset by the loss, by tax code limited to
$3k per year deduction against taxable income.

Chapter 7 bankruptcy then follows once income flow is lost and expenses exceed the income and contract secured debt cannot be paid when due.

This is a simplified explanation that I hope you and others can handle...
