New understandings about things? Yes, Then you should know that that is an old understanding, and I think Akin did great harm to the pro life movement. Most doctors no longer think that one can’t get pregnant by rape. I do not think that babies conceived by rape should be aborted, and I don’t have to hold to outdated ideas that those raped can prevent from becoming pregnant, and therefore it wasn’t rape????
Very mysogynistic ideas, and I don’t care who has them.

Ryan’s selection was to gain conservative support and it did. I don’t know why the RNC couldn’t have figured out a way to help The Ron Paul supporters feel somewhat placated. The RNC didn’t even announce the Ron Paul votes from the platform. Now that was dumb. Romney could very well lose because of these blunders. I thought they deserved to lose with their Romney support from the beginning. It seems like a power struggle is more important than wise government. I do believe the RNC deserves a kick in the pants. I will still vote for local and Congressional candidates, and I think Ron Paul is slightly senile and am not a supporter, I just don’tlike the RNC anti grassroots attitude. It is not only UnAmerican it is unRepublican.

And you can list an incidence of this happening? How do you know, then? Just some fancy make believe story you made up does not prove a point. And of course some clairvoyant male can tell whether or not it is true? And that is some difference, I must say! Sorry, Mr. Akin is still too ignorant and biased to be a senator.

Thoughts for decades are not proof , unfortunately, and unless you can list some evidence or proof of this, I will still say it is ignorance and bias.

The list of things that scientists thought for decades and later found wrong is long. I can list them if you wish.

And you have heard of doctors making mistakes and being wrong , I suppose? Some males do dislike females and that is a fact, and it colors their thinking, without facts. If you have facts to back up your tales, list them, otherwise it is only a masochistic opinion. Any attempt to back up Akin’s remark shows ignorance if not bias. Yes , male physicians have biases also and make lots of diagnostic mistakes. Facts, please! So doctors discussed this? And that is the extent of your proof?

Too Conservative? Stuck in the mud of his thinking that has dried solid? He gives conservatives a bad name. Just because one is pro-life [and I am] doesn’t mean that you have to be stupid, or that you have to be anti-women like some here. [false cries of rape after drunken escapades?] Dumb for a woman to get drunk, but it is no excuse for a accepting being raped. And no reason to think a woman is lying just because she was drinking when it happened. Taliban thinking abounds among some [mostly male] As Paul Ryan says, ‘rape is rape’ and Akin does not get it.

As I remember it the victim was raped with instruments and asaulted. Of course no DNA. Any DNA would be from her live-in boyfriend. Or perhaps the charge was assault, not rape? There was no trial. The examining nurses said that there was trauma to her vaginal area. I don’t call that exculpatory evidence. A trial would have brought this all out.

Most women can see something wrong with his remarks.

Or as Paul Ryan says, “rape is rape”.

Akin is too ignorant to be a senator.

You were the one who posted the Duke case as if it had something to do with Akin’s remarks. Akin’s remarks assume ‘false’ rape charges, like the Duke case, you said it. Both the Duke case and Akin’s remarks come from a similar mind set. The ‘victim’ is responsible?
Try putting the ‘truth’ as a guide and when you really don’t know, stop blaming the victim.
The Republicans are going to lose with their “Akin defending” attitude.
It is as Paul Ryan just said “rape is rape” as he refused to say there were different kinds of rape.

You do know that the Duke case was never brought to trial, don’t you?
All the opinions were formed by TV publicity.

No one really knows what happened as the defendants had enough money to hire good attorneys who proceeded to ruin the reputations of both the DA and the accuser.

What do you really know? There was no trial and no testimony, so believe whatever your bias tells you, but that is not the American way. Victims beware! Money rules this world. That is how Romney won the primary.

I heard Sarah Palin on FOX this morning saying that there may be a third party backing the other Republican who lost the nomination to him and that he should definitely quit the Missouri Senate race.

    I will only vote for
congressional candidates this year. I have serious intestinal problems pulling the lever for either presidential candidate. I don’t think Romney would nominate any different Supreme Court Judge than would Obama.

No one really knows. There never was an actual trial. They just proceeded to destroy the reputation of the DA and the supposed victim. [trial by TV publicity]
So Magnum stabbed her boyfriend? Let’s see if there will be a trial about this.??

Sometimes if you just want the truth you will get lambasted by both biased sides. I admit to being biased. I usually believe the [supposed] victim, especially if the defendant has money and can avoid a trial, or hire a better attorney.

Inarticulate? No, he just let us know that he has fuzz for brains. I wouldn’t want him for a senator.

Men do have a tendency to stick up for other men and blame the victim. I would never vote for such a man. There is no excuse, men, for taking advantage of any woman, drunk or not. No excuse!

And those men here who have articulated on women’s anatomy during or after rape are just as silly. They are showing their ignorance

One does not have to use a religious reference to be pro traditional marriage. Society replenishes itself by providing a special nest [marriage] to raise replacement citizens. It is why there are exemptions by the IRS for families with children.

Same sex cohabiting is legal and they can establish a legal partnership with survival rights and powers of attorney, etc. They cannot, however, replenish society with citizens.

    Marriage should stay traditional.

Paul Ryan should seek to separate food stamps and school lunch programs from the ‘farm program’ They are the great majority of the spending programs and farmers get blamed for it. The farm program should only consist of crop insurance [drought insurance] and perhaps a price floor to cover production costs to keep agriculture healthy and not subject to squeezes by conglomerates pressures. We all need to eat, remember?

Yes, Ryan is an excellent budget plan person, but as usual,
Romney has no sense of political charisma for the trail. Ryan is as interesting as Romney to the general public.

Political gaffes and incompetence reign at the Romney camp.

Would this continue in a presidency? [imaginary horrors?]

Romney is a rich self centered capitalist who is out of touch with everyone. Ask the British [they have poor security?]
Ask the anti Israeli people [they have poor culture?]
{ I like to fire people] [elevator for autos] etc. etc.

It is like telling your wife that she is getting fat. It may be true, but it is poor judgement to tell her?

Some of us told you he was out of touch during the primary fights. Is it too late now?

I heard two pundits on PBS this AM who said that Cruz was the “Establishment” candidate or the “Bush candidate” . What was that all about? I heard on FOX that Cruz was the Tea Party candidate. Will someone please explain? Are the PBS people just off-base as usual? They said that Gov. Perry backed Cruz’ opponent and that Perry and the Bushes never got along. Is PBS just trying to fan flames or are they just trying to fill their air space with babble? I am not trying to fan flames. Just searching for the truth.

However, there must be something wrong with me because I could see enough truth in this Bloomberg cover to find it amusing.

Is there something in it that is not true? enlighten me!
