Hillary Clinton’s running mate Sen. Tim Kaine was a broken record, continuously referencing Donald Trump’s comments on illegal aliens from Mexico and trying to make it sound like he had disparaged all Mexicans. But Indiana Gov. Mike Pence inadvertently had the line of the night when he mocked how often Kaine went to that well. “Senator you whipped out that Mexican thing again,” Pence said in retort to one of Kaine’s many references to the topic.

A Fort Myers doctor says if you are a man thinking about voting for Hillary Clinton, you may need to have your testosterone checked. It's a controversial commercial hitting Southwest Florida airwaves. The doctor says it's a humorous way to promote his business and also join the political discussion, but some radio listeners aren't laughing. “Most are not aware of the effect low T can have on your mental state. For instance your ability to focus and think clearly," he said. Dr. Dareld Morris of Morris Medical and Weight Loss Center in Fort Myers is issuing a warning to all...

NBC2 has learned event organizers for Donald Trump's campaign rally are looking for a larger venue. Also on Friday, registration closed for tickets. We haven't been told just how many tickets were distributed, but we're told the event is expected to bring in between 9,000 and 15,000 people. The rally is currently scheduled to be held at Germain Arena in Estero. Germain Arena organizers said they will only allow about 8,000 people inside. We're working to find out what other venues would be available on such short notice. Donald Trump is supposed to speak in Lee County on Monday, beginning...

Hillary Clinton’s hacking fits have drawn questions from supporters and critics alike, her latest coughing session having occurred Monday in Cleveland. Is it a sign of a chronic illness as suggested by actor Adam Baldwin, or has she become a closet smoker, just like her former boss, President Barack Obama? Or maybe it’s just her way of ignoring questions from voters and reporters. Whatever the cause, Baldwin posted a two-minute clip of what viewers have endured while she’s been on the campaign trail. It was posted in February, so it doesn’t even include her latest coughing spasms — but it’s...

Adultery is indeed a serious sin, often with terrible consequences. But I can think of at least two more serious sins. One is character assassination. And the other is electing people who ruin the greatest country in history.

For more than a year, the American Family Association has pleaded with Home Depot (HD) not to publicly back gay rights. The home improvement retailer has ignored those pleas. In fact, the Atlanta-based company continues to participate in the city's gay pride parade, as it has done for years.

What this means is right now, based on the data of a respected Democratic pollster, Democrats would — if the election were held today — suffer a wipeout that makes what happened to them in 2010 look like a walk in the park. And things are likely to get worse, not better, as the months roll on.

An unusual device that uses trained wasps, rather than trained dogs, to detect specific chemical odors could one day be used to find hidden explosives, plant diseases, illegal drugs, cancer and even buried bodies, according to a joint study by researchers at the University of Georgia and U.S. Department of Agriculture. skip In the current study, the researchers used Microplitis croceipes, a species of tiny parasitic wasps that can be trained to detect certain odors by associating the odors with a food reward. The wasps are not capable of stinging humans, the scientists say. Training a single wasp to detect...

Naples tea party organizer Barry Willoughby said he expected a large turnout for the rally. A rough estimate from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office was “well over 1,000,” spokeswoman Kristi Lester said. Tea party officials could not be reached for comment on their crowd estimates. Attendee Roger Hammer said he walked the crowd from one side to the other and believed there were between 8,000 and 10,000 people. Other attendees, who declined to go on record, agreed with Hammer.

I almost never do vanity posts but I have seen three movies lately that I want to comment on. I thoroughly enjoyed two of these movies, The Guardian, and Fly Boys, in spite of fact that the professional film critics were generally dismissive of them as being cliché ridden.

ESTERO — People across the United States may be proud to be Americans right now — but employees at Florida Gulf Coast University's library aren't allowed to show it. Library Director Cathy Hoeth told her faculty and staff members not to wear stickers saying, "I'm proud to be an American," because, she said, they may offend foreign students, faculty or other people who use the library. "We're doing everything we can to meet FGCU's standards of civility and tolerance," Hoeth said. "As a librarian, I want the highest respect for everyone coming to the desk." But Hoeth's concern for sensitivity ...
