  • Import of Kalashnikov Concern/Saiga AKs banned by executive order

    07/17/2014 2:03:24 PM PDT · by luv2ndamend · 36 replies ^ | July 17, 2014 | By Lee Williams
According to a Presidential Executive Order issued Wednesday, the importation of AKs manufactured by the Kalashnikov Concern in Izhmash, Russia has been banned. This includes the popular "Saiga" line of rifles and shotguns. Mikhail Kalashnikov spent his life at the Izhmash firm. The sanctions were taken because of Russia's aggression toward the Ukraine. Russian banks and energy companies were also targeted. To be clear, the executive order does not affect Izhmash or Saiga firearms already in this country. This is not an "assault weapons" ban. Instead, it halts the importation of firearms from the Izhmash-based firm. The news was released...

“NO CONCEALED WEAPONS ALLOWED. If you are such a loser that you feel a need to carry a gun with you when you go out, I do not want your business. Douchebag.” That’s the message Backstreets Pub & Deli recently sent to gun owners with a sign posted in its store window. The backlash against the establishment, located in Clemson, S.C., was swift after the conservative website Twitchy posted several photos of the sign from Twitter. The Washington Times reports that the pub has a one-star rating out of five on, “with pages upon pages of negative comments and...

Well, it’s official, Ben Bernanke has officially gone “all in” regarding currency devaluation in the name of pumping the stock market. I have to admit, even though I knew this was going to happen, I’m still in shock. After all, it’s not every day that you see a superpower collapse and lose its reserve currency status courtesy of a deranged mad man. Regardless of your feelings on the matter, these are the cards the Fed has dealt us, so rather than devote space to critiquing our insane and corrupt Fed Chairman, I thought it better to devote today’s article to...

If I were not such an admirer of the United States I should be inclined to say that in electing the rabid leftwing Obama to the presidency Americans deserve everything they are getting — and good and hard. But America is a generous and unique country and deserves much better than this. Regardless of what Obama and fellow leftists assert America is special. The first country in history to be founded directly on the principle of liberty and the "inalienable rights of Man". That Obama and his merry band of bitter leftists mock this fact reveals their not-so underlying contempt...

All is well. Reuters declared that the US is experiencing a "sturdy recovery". This is the same phony news agency that used to choke on the word recovery when used by the Bush administration. Now some American conservatives are warning that Republicans are being dangerously bearish on the economy, that there are signs, weak as they are, that a recovery is underway. Matthew Continetti of the conservative Weekly Standard states that the "natural tendency of economies is to grow". Nevertheless, he seriously questions whether Obama would now benefit from a recovery. Unfortunately most conservatives remain as uninformed about economic history...
  • The Myth of the Fed’s Exit Strategy

The “Exit Strategy” the Fed’s Bernanke is contemplating is nothing less than a total, unadulterated myth. This is the fairy tale you read to your young children at night where the government cuts back its spending and the Fed shrinks its lending. The private economy then picks up the slack, and the rest of us live happily ever after. Unfortunately, this time there will be no Prince Charming riding in on a white horse. In 2009, the US ran an unprecedented $1.5 trillion budget deficit, financing the shortfall by issuing Treasury bonds. The Fed happily obliged by soaking up this...

The president recently told Diane Sawyer: "I'd rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president." Excise the self-aggrandizing "really good" twaddle and it would seem ol' Windy City Barry's well on his way. In the wake of Democrats' historic Massachusetts smack-down, I've been anxious to see whether Obama would dig in his jackbooted heels and forge ahead with his wildly unpopular socialist agenda; or if he'd play nice with others and tack center (á la Bill Clinton in '94). Wednesday night, during his first State of the Union address, we got our answer. I'll leave the...

If a scandal isn't reported by the media, does that mean it never happened? Nancy Morgan For the millions of Americans who don't watch Fox News or listen to talk radio, the answer is a resounding yes. Last Friday, November 20, evidence came to light that "appears to show a conspiracy to falsify data and suppress academic debate in order to exaggerate the possible threat of man-made global warming." Translation: The global warming movement rests almost entirely on the IPCC's claim to represent the "consensus" of climate science. That entire movement now stands discredited. In the face of this absolutely...

"That Obama doesn't know what he's doing!" snapped Honduran foreign minister Enrique Ortez on July, 4. "He doesn't know anything about anything!" continued Ortez. "He probably can't even find Tegucigalpa on a map." The Obama administration was then (as now) denouncing the democratic Honduran government's actions to uphold their constitution and thwart creation of a Chavez/Castro client narco-state. In late June, after he trashed democratic Honduras' constitution repeatedly, that nation's Supreme Court voted unanimously to oust serial outlaw Manuel Zelaya. The Honduran legislature voted 125-5 for same. The five contrarian legislators belong to Honduras' Communist party, long known as dutiful...

Bill empowers attorney general to forbid firearms for those 'suspected dangerous' A new gun law being considered in Congress, if aligned with Department of Homeland Security memos labeling everyday Americans as potential "threats," could potentially deny firearms to pro-lifers, gun-rights advocates, tax protesters, animal rights activists, and a host of others – any already on the expansive DHS watch list for potential "extremism." Rep. A lawsuit that accuses Congress of failing to investigate President Obama's birthplace before approving the Electoral College vote giving him the presidency has been amended to include additional claims of rights violations, including unequal treatment, because Congress did such an investigation into GOP candidate Sen. John McCain. That word comes from Mario Apuzzo, the lawyer handling the case on which WND previously has reported. Salazar’s decision – which reverses the Bush administration’s December move to allow drilling on about 130,000 acres near pristine areas such as Nine Mile Canyon, Arches National Park and Dinosaur National Monument – is one of a series of steps that the administration and congressional Democrats are planning to take to reshape federal...

Any party that assiduously works to bring about its own country’s defeat — as did hardcore Democrats with respect to the Iraq War — is surely guilty of treason. And it should not be forgotten that President Obama was one of those Democrats. The readiness of Democrats to resort to treason, subversion (it was Teddy Kennedy who offered to help the KGB bring down President Reagan and who deliberately weakened national security) and relentless hate campaigns is a truly repulsive spectacle, and one that America’s politically corrupt mainstream media fully participate in. President-elect Barack Obama’s proposed $775 billion stimulus package, being sold as a cure-all for the ailing economy, is little more than a checklist for funding the pricey social-services agenda that he promised during his campaign. Some experts say that the Trojan horse of pork and welfare spending will ultimately worsen the recession and drive the nation deeper into debt, according to financial experts. WASHINGTON – A conference is scheduled Friday at the U.S. Supreme Court during which justices will consider behind closed doors – again – taking up a case that could put to rest the questions about whether President-elect Barack Obama qualifies to occupy to Oval Office under the Constitution's requirement that he be a "natural born" citizen. Twice before the justices have heard the questions, and twice before they've decided to ignore them. The lingering questions continue to leave a cloud over the impending presidency of a man whose relatives have reported he was born in Kenya and who has decided,...

GOP leaders reacted angrily Wednesday to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s tactic of all but projecting Al Franken the victor over incumbent GOP Sen. Norm Coleman, even as Minnesota election officials continue to count the votes. "At this stage, it appears that Franken will be certified the winner by the State Canvassing Board,” said a statement Reid’s office released Tuesday. “We're keeping abreast of the situation and will make a decision with regard to Senate action at the appropriate point in the process."

President-elect Barack Obama's choice to head the Labor Department has close ties to U.S. communist and socialist organizations and has sent representatives to functions organized by national parties for both ideologies. The pick of Rep. Hilda L. Solis, D-Calif., a Congressional Hispanic Caucus leader considered to be one of the most reliably pro-union voices in the House, was hailed as a victory by communist and socialist leaders...... An article this past weekend in the Communist Party USA's People's Weekly World Newspaper welcomed Solis and quoted known socialist leaders calling her a "great choice" and an "outstanding" selection with "a life-long...

The zoopolitical realm has never been so crowded. Leftists, liberating themselves from the center-feigning overtures of the past and promoting, now without shame, the ideas that made Europe what it is, have never been more proud to call themselves Democrats or more willing to exercise the obstinate defiance so characteristic of their mascot. A fter all, the Democrats now possess the “Office of the President Elect,” the Senate, the House, the public schools, the universities, the mainstream media, more than a few ardent activist judges, PBS, and, most importantly, the holy grail of Democratic politics — the adoration, endorsement, and...

My mother, Queen Mollie, once told me when I was a kid, “There are four words I want you to take out of the English language. Those are ‘ought,’ ‘should,’ ‘fair,’ and ‘equitable’ cause, darlin’, life isn’t always the way it oughta or shoulda be.” For sure, it's rarely fair or equitable. I first noticed this when I was in Beirut in June of ’82 with the Israel Defense Force as a journalist. I went over there as a typical naïve American thinking that we would see some fighting. However, it did not take me long to realize that the...
  • What’s new about Sulzberger and the New York Times committing treason? After all, Clinton did it

Once again treason is in the air as the fifth estate (or should that be fifth column?) led by the Treason Times under the tutelage of the worm-like ‘Pinch’ Sulzberger and the terrorists’ fellow-travelling Bill Keller do what they can to aid and abet America’s barbaric enemies in their endeavours to murder as many US citizens as possible, particularly if they are troops. Pinch Sulzberger For ‘Pinch’ Sulzberger treason is second nature. In the ‘70s this traitor published articles by Wilfred Burchett even after being told that the Australian ‘journalist’ was a KGB agent who had participated in the torture...

The Dubai ports imbroglio should have been one of those delicious political spectacles where every political windbag that was dumb enough to rush in where even idiots fear to tread should have found himself covered in egg. But this is not about the Dubai fiasco or bloviating politicians: it’s about that most despicable and loathsome of God’s creatures — diseased leftwing media slime. ‘Pinch’ Sulzberger, the New York Times publisher who strives to make treason respectable and patriotism a shameful word, is a putrescent specimen of the moral rot that that is eating away at the mainstream media. One should...

IRONY CAN BE PRETTY IRONIC Colorado man who laughed Monday when he first read Vice President Dick Cheney had shot a hunting companion was himself injured just hours later when he was accidentally blasted by his girlfriend in his own hunting mishap.
