    This is normal.

First, choosing a pediatrician should as much a part of the prenatal process as choosing a obstetrician and a delivery hosptial.

Second, the baby will be seen by a pediatrician shortly after birth. This could be the selected pediatrician (if he or she has hospital privileges there. Otherwise, a hospitalist pediatrician on staff or contract to the hospital.

Third, the baby’s medical records need to be sent to the family’s pediatrician, in case a medical issue comes up shortly after discharge from the hospital.

Fourth, there can be a number of medical issues with babies the first few weeks after birth. You don’t take the baby back to the OB ward, and the hospital does not want every parent taking their baby to the emergency room for non-emergency care.

Fifth, the first Well Baby visit with the pediatrician is one month after birth. You need to already have a pediatrician lined up for the medical records and to get on the schedule as soon as possible.

This should have been proposed by the U.S., U.K., and France (western permanent members of the U.N. If possible, China and the non-permanent members of the UNSC should have been brought on-board, along with all of the EU and NATO nations.

If NATO and U.S. C-17s started landing with NATO security forces, humanitarian organization members, and FAA inspectors, there is no way Putin and his thugs would risk WWIII over a third-world airline crash.

This is a valid explanation. I was listening to Michael Medved on Friday, and he was going over a survey on respect for religions. What is interesting is Evangelical Christians hold Jews in high respect, but Jews hold Evangelical Christians in very low respect.

Realize, many "Jews" in America today are secular Jews, or basically agnostic or atheist ethnic Jews. To them, the high holy days are like our secular holidays or our secularized former religious holidays. They take time off work, they "celebrate" the holidays. They ponder things on Yom Kippur, they may even go to the synagogue that one day a year, but it is more a holiday tradition than a truly religious event. Judaism has become like Buddhism to them, feel good practices, a sense of belonging, but without the need for a deity.

To tell the truth, Israel foments this. Their Right of Return is based first and foremost on ethnic Jewishness. There is no requirement to practice the Jewish religion, however professing another faith disqualifies one from immigrating.

This is why most Jews in America vote Democrat. Because most Jews in America are are not significantly religious, and in fact fear religion.

Say you’re dying of cancer but have a few months left. You are trying to enjoy what time you have left with your family. All of a sudden, you can’t get your diabetes medication. Your blood sugar shoots up. When your sugar is up your immune system is compromised. You get pneumonia and die. The cause of death was pneumonia secondary to hyperglycemia; not cancer.

Thanks, this explains an important point.

Sometimes, especially with out-patient hospice, it takes time for the terminal disease to run its course.

One needs to 1) read the article, and 2) understand Medicare (Parts A, B, and D), long-term care (nursing homes), and what hospice is before you jumping to conclusions.

First, what happened was restrictions on hospice patients' Medicare Part D prescriptions were decreased, not increased.

Second, Medicare Part A (hospitalization) is what pays for hospice services.

What does Medicare Part A cover?

Medicare does not pay for long-term care. The only nursing home care Medicare pays for is rehabilitative care. This article has little to do with nursing homes. There is no way someone would be in a Medicare paid for nursing home while on Medicare paid for hospice. However, someone could be in a self-paid or Medicaid paid long-term care facility and require hospice care.

Hospice providers are not the same thing as nursing homes. Someone in a long-term care who is a hospice patient gets their hospice services from a hospice provider. Hospice providers are regulated differently from hospitals and long-term care faciliites That hospice provider may be a subsidiary of the long-term care facility, or it may be separate.

When you are in the hospital, Medicare Part A (not Part D) pays for any prescription drug you get while in the hospital. With hospice, it works the same (both for outpatient hospice and inpatient hospice). The hospice provider bills Medicare for hospice services, which included palliative drugs. Like hospitals, most hospice providers have their own pharmacies which provide these drugs.

Given the level of narcotics used by hospice, I don't think you could even get those from your local CVS using Medicare Part D.

Hospice is end of life care. Once you go into hospice, you are stopping treatment of underlying diseases. Once one chooses for Medicare to pay for their hospice services, Medicare stops paying for curative services.

    Hospice & respite care

What appears to have been happening here is some hospice providers were billing Part D for hospice drugs (defined by Medicare). By law, Part D cannot pay for drugs which are paid for by Part A or Part B.

Medicare does limit hospice reimbursement to a certain daily amount, and all palliative drugs come out of that payment. But that is way hospice works under Medicare.

Second, if you are in hospice, you have little need for drugs you would get via Part D, because curative care is discontinued in hospice. Medications for chronic conditions (blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes) generally stop, unless stopping those drugs would cause pain or discomfort. So something tells me these are corner cases.

The parenthetical comment, Medicare "won't pay for pain relief pills" is completely wrong. Pain medications are palliative and are covered by Part A for hospice patients.

The only exception would be for houses of worship, and the existing, limited accommodation for religiously-affiliated nonprofit organizations would remain.

By the time the more mainstream Dims figure out what happened, Hillary will have lost the first few caucuses and primaries, and will have no choice but to bow out. Obama (assuming he is not toxic by then) will then actively campaign for Warren.

Warren will get unlimited dollars from Steyer, Soros, and Hollywood. She will get the support of the liberal media establishment. She will buy the support of the Millennials with a promise to forgive student loan debt.

If the Republicans do not choose wisely, we will lose the country. America will barely survive 8 years of Obama. I do not think it can survive 16 years of Obama and Warren.

WHO warns HIV 'exploding' among gay men, urges preventive drugs

What is amazing about HIV/AIDS is the truth got buried under an avalanch of politically correct lies.

We were told in the 1980s the truth: HIV was hard to catch, you could not catch it from a sneeze, a handshake, or a mosquito.

Discover Magazine in 1985 told the truth: HIV transmission and infection was prevalent in the gay male community largely due to a specific risky homosexual behavior (anal sex), and while possible, it was hard to transmit from a male to a female in vaginal sex. Similarly, it was almost impossible to transmit from female to male via vaginal sex.

So the heterosexuals discounted HIV/AIDS as a "gay disease". But the politically correct police decided heterosexuals "must be made to care", so they declared it a "sexually transmitted disease", not a "gay disease", and highlighted heterosexual transmission, with no consideration of the specific behaviors which may have transmitted it. They lumped in transsexual females into the female category to raise the number of "females" who were infected by "heterosexual sex". They refused to drill down into possible IV drug use among infected heterosexuals, or high risk sexual behavior, especially given changing sexual morals over the generations. They focused on statistics from Africa, where ignorance and other factors raised the risk of heterosexual transmission. And they then took those statistics and told us they applied to the general, first-world heterosexual population.

They promoted the "Get Tested" campaign, which was propaganda to scare the heterosexual community. Moochelle pushed this propaganda as the "responsible thing to do."

Back in 2005 Discover Magazine rescinded and apologized for its 1985 article, never mind that no fact stated in the 1985 article was untrue. Discover's 2005 point was there was significant HIV infection among heterosexual women in Africa. And therefore, political correctness had to rule.

I also just read a Facebook post that viral researchers are trying to blame HIV's "discrimination" on different strains of the virus. Really. They are really blaming the difference on the theory of a homophobic single-cell organism.

Also, never mind the obvious control group: lesbians. If HIV/AIDS is just another sexually transmitted disease, like herpes, and can be transmitted by infected females to their partners (a key necessity in for the heterosexual AIDS myth to be accepted) why is there not much infection in the lesbian community? Why are they not encouraging lesbians to "get tested"?

Now we see stats showing such severe infection rates among homosexual men and transsexual women (i.e., homosexual men), to the point a special exception must be made for them, and expensive preemptive retroviral drugs given to them.

The contradiction is writ large: If we are all at risk, and all should get regular testing, why are the retroviral drugs only recommended for homosexual men?

The politically correct should not be able to have it both ways. HIV/AIDS cannot be a universal disease we are all at risk of catching, and a disease which dominantly infects gay males, unless considering how the disease is transmitted (i.e., behavior). But they are trying to have it both ways. Homophobic viral strains are attacking gay males, so we must provide them free retroviral drugs, and not dare suggest they modify their behavior--in fact, the whole "safe sex" thing is not spoken about nearly as much.

This whole affair is like the propaganda in a totalitarian county. To me, the truth screams through. To the liberal and politically correct, they simply cannot see the truth.

And the truth is, preemptive retroviral drugs (paid for by Obamacare), any sex will be seen as "safe", and the epidemic will continue, and grow.

"Truth isn't mean, it's truth." - Andrew Breitbart

A couple of problems with this story.

One, she moved "back home" from San Diego, but apparently, there was no one at "home" (parents, siblings, etc.) to help her out when she was struggling.

Two, she and her boyfriend/husband/sperm donor bought a $240,000 house with an "exorbitant" mortgage. I bought a house in late 2007, and refinanced it in 2009. I recall mortgages were at historic lows through much of that time period. So a $240K house even without a down payment and paying PMI would not be "exorbitant", especially for the northeast. That is, unless they did something stupid like a greater than 100% loan to value.

Then she went back to grad school? Talk about Einstein's definition of insanity.

The Hobby Lobby case was not about contraception or the Affordable Care Act. It was about abortifacients and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

Blood transfusions are acute, life-saving treatment. Contraception is not.

Blood transfusions are not available over the counter, nor are their over the counter alternatives to blood transfusions. Plan B is available over the counter, and Plan B is an OTC alternative to the prescription Ella.

Lack of vaccination endangers others. Lack of abortifacient coverage does not endanger others.

Most of the critics panned it without providing objective arguments for their dislike of it. Some did comment the production qualities were more like a made for TV movie. On this latter point, I would agree, it is more like something you would see on A&E or History Channel.

That said, it is very good. It takes a few of the left's complaints about America and provides objective counter arguments. The dramatizations are good, the actors in the dramatizations are good.

The interviews are impressive because of two reasons: One, D'Souza actually gets hard-left radicals to sit down and be interviewed by him; and they all pretty much fall into his trap of showing off their radical views.

I agree with one poster the movie becomes disjointed as it moves from dismantling the left's complaints to the section on Saul Alinsky. But D'Souza was trying to explain how Obama would "remake" America by first "unmaking" America, and Alinsky provided a process for unmaking America.

I also think the IRS and NSA issues were not framed in a way that flowed well or built up the message of the movie well.

I think this latter part of the movie could have been done better.

I was amazed at how I was able to predict D'Souza's thesis as he went through his narration. In my head, I was literally finishing his sentences for him. I realize conservatives don't just believe alike, we think alike.

The absolute best premise in the movie was how D'Souza used Alexis de Tocqueville's "Democracy in America" as the counter-argument for Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States". This was truly brilliant.

Overall, I liked this movie much better than 2016. I am not sure I bought D'Souza's premise in 2016 that Obama had unresolved daddy issues, or that his politics was based in anti-colonialism. However, in America I learned a lot.

This issue of illegal crossover votes has come up in the past in other elections in other states. In 1986 it happened in the Alabama Democrat Gubernatorial Primary Runoff. Some Republicans who voted in the Republican Primary voted again in the Democrat runoff. In that situation, the crossover law was not clear, and was never enforced. I do not recall any specific vote counts. As I recall, the court made up some excuses and declared the loser of the runoff the winner.

Judges Rule Crossover Vote Affected Governor's Race : Alabama Primary Runoff Invalidated

Anyway, this election was the bomb that destroyed the Democrat Party's hold on the Governor's mansion. Prior to that election, Republicans had to change parties to Democrats for any hope of winning. After that election, there has been only one elected Democrat governor in Alabama.

McDaniel needs to tread carefully here. The paper trails are much better today, and he has legal precedence.

But the question is the same right now for both Cochran and McDaniel.

Can Cochran beat Democrat Travis Childers without the support of McDaniel's supporters? Probably not, because now that the Democrats have exercised their GOTV effort in the Republican runoff, they are no doubt salivating at what they might be able to accomplish in November.

Can McDaniel beat Childers without the support of Cochran's supporters? No way, because the same Democrat GOTV effort which carried Cochran over the line will be used to get Childers elected.

If McDaniel wins the election in court, and loses the general election to Childers, it will put back the TEA party movement. If Cochran loses to Childers, it will actually strengthen the TEA party movement.

I say McDaniel should gently pursue efforts to ensure the election was valid, but ultimately, let Cochran stew in his own juices.

I think what Breitbart was saying was, if the truth hurts, so be it. Do not be afraid to speak it. The truth is information, and as by itself is not nice or mean, it just is.

Breitbart also spoke to the absoluteness of truth, and truth that was not absolute was not truth at all.

What I see in the left today is the belief they can create their own truth. Sometimes they will say something which is demonstrably false, just because they want it to be true. My favorite example of this is Head Start. Liberals will not only say "Head Start helps children" (demonstrably false), but they will make up false claims: "Studies show Head Start helps children." Why? Because in their heart of hearts, they believe Head Start must help children, and because Head Start must help children studies must show it does.

You could hook these liberals up to a polygraph and it would not register a lie. They constantly create their own truth.

Liberals believe that gender reassignment surgery can cure transgenderism is a truth, while simultaneously believing the truth that Body Integrity Identity Disorder is a purely mental/psychological disorder and horrified at the thought someone suffering Body Integrity Identity Disorder would want a perfectly good limb amputated.

The very idea body modification can "cure" a mental/psychological condition is absurd on the surface, to any student of truth. If it were true, we would treat Body Integrity Identity Disorder with amputations, and plastic surgery would be covered by insurance to treat Body Dysmorphic Disorder.

These comments by Dr. McHugh no doubt are toxic to liberals:

""Sex change" is biologically impossible. People who undergo sex-reassignment surgery do not change from men to women or vice versa. Rather, they become feminized men or masculinized women."

“Truth isn’t mean, it’s truth.” - Andrew Breitbart

Throwing truth on a liberal is like Dorothy throwing water on the Wicked Witch of the West.

    Brat, a “libertarian” ?

    not even close.

I wouldn't be so sure. Brat has written economic papers promoting Ayn Rand, has done research on behalf of the Cato Institute, and Reason Magazine is claiming Brat as one of their own (albeit while opposing Brat's defense and immigration views).

Brat's strong anti-Big Business views are why many choose to call him libertarian rather than a traditional conservative. It is probably more accurate to call Brat a paleoconservative.
