Welcome to the real world, people!!

Billary will probably be our next prez...whether we like it or not. The Clinton’s are nasty, sneaky people. One way or another, between the two of them, they will lie, cheat, cause havoc to get her elected. I, on the other hand, may find a home in Australia, New Zealand, etc.

If you think this stuff is made up, trot yourself out and buy copies of The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns. And don't miss Lone Survivor, written by a real, live SEAL. It is almost unbelievable what these lunatics are capable of. People who have to sell their older kids to orphanages so they can have enough money to feed the little ones, Taliban buys them, uses them up, then cuts their throats or teaches them to blow themselves up. These are people who live in the stone age, have bullies who drive around with their AK-47's, and areserving the devil. What a foolish bunch of people we are to think that Islam is a religion of peace. Men using little boys in shameful ways, then killing them, men killing women for showing their ankles. I don't think many of us knew about Islam until 9/11. It's a sad but true story...there are now about 4 Islamic enclaves in this country. They are all teaching their children to hate Americans, Christians/Jews, and how to destroy this country. I am not a conspiracy nut; I just watch and listen. And I know what is going on in different regions of this country. I just hope the average freeper is ready to take care of him/herself when the stuff hits the fan, because I think it will in the next few years. And I really wish that American muslims would stand up and fight this idiocy.

    Two words that irritate me:

    1. Awesome...some people apparently know no other word to express their feelings of being overwhelmed by something.

    2. More importantly...should be “more important”. Importantly is apparently used to make one feel more important.

I posted this because 19-year olds like Tommy Creek are few and far between. I went to the same schools, lived in the same poor neighborhood of Amarillo, Texas...just a little earlier than Tommy.

LANCE CORPORAL THOMAS E. CREEK is buried in Llano Cemetery, Amarillo, Texas, and will be honored, along with many other veterans, on Memorial Day, 2007.

Thomas E. Creek "stood and delivered"; he was both courageous and selfless. He saw what needed to be done to save his brothers and did it.

His last words? He saw the grenade, and right before he fell on it, he said, "I've got it, Matt."

“IMHO I think they dropped Stone because he is not “touch, feely” enough for today’s audiences. People want feeling, the sympathetic sounding voice with personal and pitying sounding words sent out in a pitiable way. Stone reported the story, no elaboration and with no identifying touchy, feely words or body language. In my second humble opinion, I think he is the most handsome man ever to be a reporter for the MSM. Good luck Stone!”

I second your comments. I really enjoyed his delivery on various stories. A side note: several years ago, it was announced that his wife had MS. Maybe that’s one reason they’re moving to another home. So she can get around her home more easily?

Nothing specific; I heard a couple of different commentators mention that she was going to have another child (she already had a little girl named Molly). And the Iranian government scolded the Brits at one point for allowing a pregnant woman to serve in the military.

    Infidel
    by Ayaan Hirsi Ali

This is the autobiography of the Somali-born woman who became a member of the Dutch parliament, and collaborated on a film about domestic violence against Muslim women with controversial director Theo van Gogh. He was assassinated, and she has a price on her head now. Her narration on Islamic culture is shocking; the way the women are treated is beyond disgusting. She was subjected to genital mutilation and later forced into an unwanted marriage. She is about 37 years old now, is a strong woman, and gives a real picture of the so-called religion of peace.

No American woman would stand for the treatment that these women of the Muslim world have to endure!

AMERICA LOVES HILLARY; TOP FUNDRAISER FOR ROUND ONE: $36 MILLION
    Sun Apr 01 2007 13:28:02 ET

    http://www.drudgereport.com/flash2.htm

Total includes $26 million raised since Jan 20, $10 million transferred from successful senate reelection campaign

Hillary Clinton's campaign today announced it will report $36 million in total receipts for the first fundraising quarter, which ended March 31, 2007. The staggering number reflects the strength of support for Clinton from every walk of life and every part of America.

"We are overwhelmed by the tremendous enthusiasm and historic response this campaign has received so far," campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle said today. "Going forward we are poised to continue this success and make even more history."

Specifically, the campaign noted several key numbers demonstrating the overwhelming depth and breadth of Clinton's support:

$26 million raised in new receipts since launching her campaign on January 20

80 % of the contributions were $100 or less.

$4.2 million raised on the internet (including $1 million in a week during the One Week, One Million campaign, and nearly $600,000 online in the 36 hours preceding the deadline)

$6 million in total grassroots donations (internet plus direct mail and telemarketing receipts)

50,000 donors (tens of thousands of them new donors)

Contributions received from residents of all 50 states (plus Washington, DC)

$10 million transferred from Senator Clinton's successful senate reelection account

In March of 2003, the highest total reported by a Democratic campaign in its first-quarter fundraising report was $7.4 million and the top four candidates combined raised just over $23 million. In March of 1999, incumbent Vice President Al Gore reported $8.9 million for his first quarter.

And this all happens on PRIVATE land? With the permission of the landowner? This was a private owner's property, in Texas. I feel sure if I were driving around a couple of quaint little developments here in Amarillo and taking potshots at their grazing deer, I WOULD deserve arrest.

Wandering around a huge, private piece of land (where those danged little quail just thrive) without a $7 license is another story.

But then, of course, Oklahoma is Oklahoma. Here in Texas we pay $60 to register the SUV for a year. Oklahoma is about $700 (+-).

Please speak very slowly to Fawn. She/he is apparently one of those environmentalists who believe trees/animals/insects are in grave danger of those terrible human beans.

For some strange reason, we are being led down the "humans vs animals" road by a few nuts. (once again, no offense to anyone). It makes no difference how much land is encroached upon, if the animal population is not weeded out once in awhile, you have overgrazing of the available land, not to mention the breeding of inferior animals.

If this whole country was barren of human, there would STILL be wolves eating the slowest deer. There would be eagles and other birds eating the slowest rabbits. This country has ALWAYS had a plentiful amount of game, and it always will. And we are no more encroaching upon THEIR territory than any other civilization.

That's the way life is. And BTW, if ANYONE wants to adopt a couple of prairie dogs, I know a couple of places where you can get them free of charge. The little dears multiply faster than mice.

"No worry....pretty soon hunting will be gone.....the animals are almost all gone.:

Apparently you have no concept about the INCREASE in game (translate for you: animals) in this country. Try driving a road at night...almost anywhere. If you don't hit the deer, you'll more than likely hit a rabbit, stray dog, or other animal. Maybe a coyote.

I'm not sure what planet you live on, but animals are populating so fast, the licensed hunters can't get rid of them.

p.s. Please come to Amarillo or Lubbock...the prairie dogs are taking all of us over. Not to mention the racoons, possums, squirrels, and coyotes that are coming into town.

The sheer silliness of this whole thing is blowing me away (probably a poor choice of words!) I know quite well how to handle a shotgun, how accidents happen, and how terribly excited non-shooting liberals are about this accident.

I have started a Best Of comments about the MSM's desperate attempt to capitalize on this non-event. So far, we have:

    1. Best comment I've read...from another FR thread:

    2. LOL. How bout these lines for Cheney's next press corps dinner speech;

"Ted Kennedy and I are going hunting this weekend. He's driving and I'm riding shotgun."

"I took my wife hunting with me. She was scared out of her wits but decided to stay after Teddy offered to drive her home."

    3. "But if it were up to Dick Cheney, he wouldn't tell us if our shirts were on fire, for heaven's sake."

Do they need someone to tell them their shirts are on fire?

And...lest we forget...John Kerry, #1 hero from Viet Nam, pictured with a dead Canada goose in one hand and his shotgun in the other.

Was it Super Hero Kerry, #1 hero from Viet Nam, who shot the Vietnamese guy IN THE BACK?

No offense to anyone...just the irrationality of the current MSM and the glee they seem to be finding in this whole thing. I'm amazed that most of them can even read their scripts...much less find toilet paper to wipe...AH! never mind!

It's my guess the Vietnamese guy Kerry shot IN THE BACK and was on the receiving end of a heavy-duty rifle sure wished it hadn't happened, either.

Probably a little like chicken or stray cats.

All right, all right!!! All you cat lovers don't start!!! I just don't like cats. And I can happily say that polar bears haven't recently roamed the Texas Panhandle.

"At least you can awaken from a nightmare!"

You may not have seen my posts about my question to Michael Medved. I had the rare opportunity to ask him what he thought how Hillary Clinton would govern were she to be elected president.

His reply (paraphrasing) was that she would be much like that of Jimmy Carter, both in domestic politics and foreign policy. The "nightmare" may or may not come back. For those who didn't live through it the first time, you'd better hope it doesn't happen again. You ain't gonna like it...believe me.

In reading through the whole article, I agree with PART of what she said. I think the conservative disagreement comes with HER perception the rest of the funeral.

Just my opinion, but both Presidents Bush showed extreme class, Carter showed his usual out-to-lunch attitude, and Clinton showed his usual silver-tongued devil self. Mrs. Clinton...don't get me started! Mrs. Laura Bush showed her usual well-mannered self; Mrs. Jimmy Carter showed her usual black-eyed meaness.

Bottom line: What did we expect from a 10,000-member, mostly black church that wants to denigrate everything President Bush says? BTW, this particular church is apparently in one of THE most affluent areas of Georgia, and has THE most affluent congregation.

P.S. If you are a minority of any ethnic group, please don't start with me. I am neither racist nor prejudiced in any way. Apparently most of the members of this particular church have a LOT more money than I'll ever see.

Barbara Bush: another real-live prankster. I've posted this one countless times, but here it is again.

In Houston, filming "Tin Cup" with Kevin Costner and Don Johnson (a couple of real heart throbs at the time). These two heart throbs are having lunch with the ex-president and Mrs. Bush in their gated community. Mrs. Bush, with a twinkle in her eye and a bit of onery in her soul, sends Costner and Johnson next door with an empty cup to ask Mrs. "Smith" for a cup of sugar. Meanwhile, Mrs. Bush, wife of one president, mama of a Texas governor and future Florida governor...and future mama of a president, hides in the bushes so she can see the look on Mrs. Smith's face when she opens the door to Kevin Costner and Don Johnson. If I'd been Mrs. Smith, I probably would have fainted on the spot.

    A true story.
