Absolutely no one has asked me how to watch the coronation on TV next Tuesday. I’m the media specialist and could hook up the whole school to watch it in their classrooms. But not one teacher has asked. This county went 60% for McLame tho so I’m not surprised that no one wants to show the fraud taking office.

I knew there was a reason why I left Iowa 30 years ago and never looked back!

I can’t believe this witch beat McCrory. Yes, NC is is in financial difficulty. I wonder why? Could it have anything to do with the state legislature under democratic control for years and years? One of the main reasons we continued to live here after my husband retired from the military is that his military retirement pay is not taxed by the state (Bailey Act). I’m wondering how long that will remain in effect with this budget mess.

I can’t believe the Air Force lets people stay in who are that much overweight! If you even got close to your max weight in the Marines you were assigned to PTP (physical training platoon) and if you couldn’t drop the weight, you were gone.

Wilmington used to be a pretty nice place about 20 years ago. I lived up in Jacksonville and commuted the hour down to Wilmington to go to school at UNCW. Traffic was moderate, climate great, close to beach as you mentioned, good southern people. It has grown exponentially in the past 20 years. Traffic is horid, takes forever to get out to the beach with all the back-ups, house prices very jacked up and it is also being overrun by liberal northeners retiring to a warmer climate. We, at one time considered moving there after hubby retired from the Marines but choose the mountains instead. Now we’re being overrun by rude northerners and illegal Hispanics. I think when we really retire we’re going west, especially now that NC has gone Democrat.

I’m so ashamed that my fellow Catholics helped elect Obama. We call them Cafeteria Catholics. They pick and choose what they believe in. They disgust me.

Oh the memories. Out on the grinder drilling in the heat trying not twitch while being attacked by sand fleas. Then 25 years later bursting with pride as we watched our younger son march by on graduation day. Parris Island holds many memories for this Marine family. Semper fi to all devil dogs out there in freeper land.

Bull. I used my red pen and used it liberally. If my students don’t like it....tough. When I taught 5th grade, some parents would request that their babies did not get me cause I was too tough. OTOH, I had parents begging for their kids to be put in my class because they knew that they would learn something. I loved my reputation as the mean Marine teacher.

Your remarks about Women Marines is degrading. I served 5 years active duty and 10 in the reserves. 5’7” tall, 120 lbs, long blonde hair, blue eyes. Do I fit your stereotype of a female Marine? Get over it! Your attitude is what many of my fellow female Marines had to deal with on a daily basis. All we wanted to do was serve our country. I knew very few female Marines who looked like the woman in that picture. Not to mention the fact that the Marines have a very strict policy on tatoos. I very much doubt that that woman is a Marine. She could be in any of the other branches of the Military. She could be a dependant there eating with her spouse.

Oh gag me. Are they actually taking pictures of that fraud? Maybe they’re going to enlarge them and make his picture into a dart board or something like that. It just galls me when politicians who don’t give a crap about the military invent little photo ops to “show” how much they care. Where’s the little woman? Too busy opening empty boxes and pretending they celebrate Christmas?

I’m not surprised. We did just about all our shopping on line this year. I hate the malls. About the only time I stepped foot in our local mall was when our daughters needed some small gifts for their friends and teachers. Bath and Body Works and Claires are great for little gifts like that.

And I hear you about trying to get someone out to do work at your house. We wanted some trees taken down in our backyard and we called just about every tree company in the phone book. They were all too busy or told us they could be out in a couple weeks to give us an estimate. Hubby mentioned his dilema to his barber. Hooked him up with a preacher friend who has a part time gig doing tree work. Out the next day with his crew.

Chick-fil-a is a great business. Not only are their employees polite, they never seem to screw up your order and our local franchise gives back to the community in many ways. Not only that, they are closed on Sunday and it obviously doesn’t affect their profits. Good for them!

I think there were a couple reasons why McCain lost NC. And don’t forget, he only lost by about 13K votes. There could easily have been that many ACORN votes.

1. Huge numbers of transplants from the NE have moved here. They vote for the dems.

2. We have so many illegal aliens in our state now. My county had to build a new school this year. The population of the school is 80% Hispanic. The vast majority of those kids are illegal. How do I know? When the kids take the NC End of Grade tests, their identifying number is their social security number. I have friends who work in the new school who have told me that every Hispanic in their classes have made up numbers. They have letters and numbers. All you need to go to school in NC is a birth certificate and current shots. You don’t have to have a valid SSN. If you don’t have a valid SSN, you are not a citizen and your parents are darn sure not citizens. How many of those illegals voted for Obama?

3. Military votes not being counted. My son is a NC resident. He is stationed in SC. He got so frustrated at trying to get his absentee ballot that he gave up and didn’t vote. How many of our Marines from Camp Lejeune did not get to vote?

4. Voter fraud. My school secretary’s husband went to vote on election day. When he got to his polling place he was told that he had already voted. Say what? When he protested they said all he could do was file a complaint. They did not let him vote. Another lost vote for McCain.

5. More voter fraud. My library assistant was in the parking lot of the Flat Rock Playhouse one evening during early voting waiting to go in and see a play. Not one, but 2 cars with out of state plates (GA and TN) came driving into the lot. They wanted to know if this was the place to vote. She counted 5 people in each car. They all happened to be black.

Multiply this across the state and it’s a wonder that McCain came even 13K close to winning.

But, I thought only white people could be racist? I mean, didn’t 98% of us vote for the white guy?

Nice to see that Buncombe County sticks out so nicely in the red counties of western NC. Asheville is like a blight on our beautiful mountains. I refuse to drive up there to the big mall. Instead I drive down the mountain to Greenville, SC when I need to do some shopping. I’d rather spend money in a nice red county :-)

Interesting to see that blue swatch of counties that runs through MS, AL, GA, SC, and NC. What’s up with that?

My brother has been a postal carrier for almost 30 years. He is hoping they buy him out and let him retire early. I’d love to retire at age 55 too but that ain’t gonna happen. I’ll be lucky if I can retire with my piddly teaching pension when I’m 65. Must be nice for him. Oh, and he’s a rapid socialist. We don’t talk much.

Thanks for you son’s service. My younger son did 2 tours in IRAQ and is getting out in March (thank God). My older son has been accepted to Marine OCS and I am a nervous wreck. He’s got an air contract and I remember when my husband was on active duty during Carter’s years. They sat around with nothing to do cause there were no parts to fix their broken helicopters.

I would love to see a comparison on how much community service those on welfare participate in compared to those who pay their own way. I mean, they’re just laying around all day with nothing to do but suck at the government’s teat. They should be racking up huge amounts of service time to their fellow citizens. I’m afraid it would be no contest but I’d just like to see some real statistics on this.

We are going to be the laughingstock of the world when Obambi takes over. Can’t wait to see what happens when someone kicks sand in pussy boy’s face. Who’s he going to go whine too? The newspapers? What are they going to do? Tell the world to leave our Messiah alone? I get more disgusted every day.

Community service is a requirement in NC if you want to graduate from high school as a NC scholar. I can’t remember how many hours it is as my oldest graduated in 2000. But my sophomore,who has a 4.25 GPA (honors courses) would not be considered to be a scholar unless she does the community service. She starts working on that next year. They also require a HUGE senior service project now. I can’t wait to hear what that is going to entail.

My 7th grader has to complete 20 hours a year to remain in the Beta Club Honor society.

It’s not a big deal as both my girls do all kinds of sevice projects with our church. They do this because they WANT to. They have been raised to feel compassion for those who are truly in need of help and our church has many programs on going in the community. Making community service mandatory is a bunch of crap and I hope it totally backfires in the One’s face.

I don’t watch TV so no problem. I tuned out the boob tube years ago. I enjoyed listening to Fox and Friends on the radio going to work each morning but I’ve found that I can’t stand to listen to that anymore. It was so pro Obama the past couple days that I just turned to music. It’s going to be a long 4 yers.

Thank you Ralph! I too am working undercover in a public school in NC. Only my district voted 60% for McCain so I have lots of fellow conservative teachers in my school. I don’t know what has happened to NC. I was watching the returns very closely all Tuesday evening and when I saw that Buncombe County was going to be one of the last counties tallied, I knew it was all over for McCain.

That Asheville teacher needs to be sued and thrown out on her butt. She is disgusting.

What an evil witch. That poor little girl that she was berating. And did you see how all the other children looked at her in disgust? That teacher needs to be sued. I hope the little girl’s mother has hired a lawyer.

I have never feared for my two military sons under Bush. I am now scared to death what’s going to happen to them. I wish they would both choose to get out as soon as they can but the oldest has been accepted to Marine OCS. I think the younger one will get out of the Marines when his enlistment is up in March. Thank goodness!

Pretty quiet up here in the mountains of NC. All the bitter, clingy people have gone to bed cause they have to work in the morning.

Don’t come to NC. It appears that the Dem disease has taken over my beautiful state. I will probably stick it our until I can retire in 12 years and then head west.

What is going on with Buncombe and Mecklenburg counties? Every other mountain county has reported except Buncombe. Gag me if those 2 counties put Obama back on top. Mac only has a 16K lead.

I’m disgusted too. NC should not even be this close. Sigh. I sure hope all the military votes with our eastern bases made it here in time.

I agree and Buncombe County has no results up yet. I’m sure it will go for Obama. It takes the rest of our mountain counties to offset those libtards in Asheville. Mecklenburg has still not completely reported their results. They’re probably waiting to see how many more votes Obama needs to win before they send in their final results.

I hear you. I see the same thing at my church. Disgusting. And our priest is a whoosy. He will not come out and say don’t vote for the pro-abortion candidate. He kinda pussy foots around the issue by saying to vote your conscience and keep in mind the teachings of the church. Lame. I had half a mind to put fliers on the windows of the cars who had Obama stickers. I guess I really can’t be surprised. More than half our parish are transplants from the NE. There are more NY and NJ accents than good ole NC.

I ran a half marathon in Charlotte this past weekend. Ran through many nice neighborhoods on the southeastern side of town. Saw tons of signs for McCrory (governor’s race). Very few signs for the presidential candidates. I did notice that there were more signs for Hagan than Dole. I don’t think the anti-God thing is working for Dole. I will not be surprised if she loses Tuesday. So sad that my state is not solidly red any longer. Too many damn Yankees moving down here messing up our demographics.

It makes me sick to my stomach when I walk through our church parking lot going into mass on Sunday. So many cars with Obama stickers on them. On right to life Sunday a few weeks ago our priest strongly hinted to choose candidates who were in agreement with ALL church doctrines. He railed against cafeteria Catholics, those who pick and choose what they believe in. It’s very confusing to me why Hispanics would vote Obama. They are way more in tune with basic Catholic beliefs than most white Catholics.

Some of us bitter, gun clinging people have better things to do with our time than watch “that one” talk about how wonderful he is. We actually have worthwhile lives. Spent a great evening at our daughter’s end of year volleyball banquet. Hubby was all smiles when we got home cause it was just in time to turn on the World Series :-)

We have owned many Chrysler cars and have never had any problems with them other than routine maintenance. Jeep Liberty, several Jeep Wranglers, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I now have a Chrysler Aspen that I drive the wheels off of being the Mom taxi. Hubby just got a 4 door Jeep Wrangler. We have only owned one foreign car in 27 years of marriage. It was a Subaru wagon. Had to rebuild the engine at 90K miles. Have bought American ever since.

There probably aren’t any larger forums in this area where she could have had a rally this late at night. Obama had his during the day at a football stadium in Asheville.

Not all of us Yankees are bad. I’m from Iowa, hubby from Illinois. We are very conservative. Retired Military and lived in NC so often we made it our final resting stop. We offset some of those liberals moving in!!

Our neighborhood is hugely pro McCain/Palin. Just about every house has a sign in the front yard. I noticed as I left for church this morning that they had all been smashed, bent, and torn out of the ground. Got back from church several hours later and they were back up in all their bent glory! Hubby fixed ours back up as soon as we got home. That video camera thing sounds like a good idea.
