There may be some former Catholics in the church where I worship, but I don’t go around asking everyone what their religious background is.

I never ask either, but I suspect there may be more than one or two in my fellowship. As far I can remember, I don't think any priest or nun ever told me not to read the Bible. My parents, however, did. Being as I was a totally rebellious person, 😎 I did the opposite. I used to sneak our old family Catholic Bible into my room, after I wiped off a half inch layer of dust, and read it myself. I wanted to know why I felt certain I was lost and on my way to Hell. No one could tell me why, so I figured I would try to figure out life's greatest mystery on my own. The rest, as they say, is history. Keep up the good work.

We are not capable of truly understanding any of the attributes of God.

I agree with that. I am wondering, how deeply we will understand the attributes of God, even when we are in Heaven? Just my opinion, but I think as eternity rolls on in Heaven, we will know, experience and understand those attributes better, but even in Heaven, we will spend eternity with Him, and grow closer to Him all the while, and still never fully reach the "end" of the infinite reality of the total of God's attributes, because He is infinitely infinite. Again, make sense?

BTW, I assume you are out of Florida now? It is 6 AM Sunday morning here. Going to Sunday morning services. After that, who knows, maybe lunch at Jack's Ridge. 😂😅😃😃😎

My opinion is, that we know about the eternity of God, and we accept the eternity of God, but, with our finite minds, we can’t really fathom the complete reality of the concept, until we actually experience it in Heaven. Does that make sense?

I have no clue. It really is a simple concept. I think it is possible, some have been asking that question since Cain killed Abel, and haven't got a satisfactory answer yet. Actually, I think the lake of fire will be far more crowed than Stinson Beach. Stinson Besch may be bigger than the Island Garden City of Samal (my favorite) but at least at Samal, I did not need to wear a wetsuit to swim. I believe if you want to swim at Stinson Beach, you do. . I accepted Christ as a child and was baptized in a farm pond! Every Protestant church I have attended, practiced that belief. When I go by that pond on the way to my family in MS, I remember that day.

I was baptized in the swimming pool at Bien Hoa Air Base, Republic of Vietnam in 1970. All it did, was get me wet. It was an outward sign of an inward commitment to the Christ of the Bible. I remember it was really hot that day, as was EVERY day in Vietnam, so a dip in the pool was welcome for me. I must have worked a million airplanes over there. It was one of the world's busiest airports, and I hacked the program. I worked so many airplanes, there still might be one or two out there in the weeds that I don't know about. It was a virtual nightmare.

First let me say, I hate Latin. I hated it when I was a catholic altar boy. I hated it when I took it at the catholic high school I went to. I prefer to use English words. Only scripture and only faith. Yes, I ONLY accept that. Nothing else. On that, we will probably have to agree to disagree, probably forever. Maybe we do not mean the same thing by WBR. let me give you my definition. A WBR, to me, means it is a combination of faith and good works, either to get saved, or stay saved. If it is 95% faith, and 5% works, to endure, or to keep it, it is a WBR. I do not accept that. If the Catholic Church is not a WBR, according to that definition, then those priests and nuns gave me some bad information. Without trying to mind read, I have a feeling I know what you are thinking. You might possibly be thinking that I believe I can get saved by faith and then live like Hell. Am I right? I can answer that thought with one word: NO. It can't be done.

Now, I would like to hear your plan of salvation. What will you use to get to Heaven? Preferably the short and to the point version. I will pray that we see each other at the Pearly Gates. 🇵🇭😎🙉🙈🙊

Do you think anyone would be so foolish as to actually try that line? On second thought, don't answer that. Why is that so hard for them to grasp?

I don't know it's all right there...And it's so simple...I had no trouble reading and understanding when I first read it...But then I didn't have any preconceived notions when I started...

Well, who knows? I would venture a guess, though I don't know for sure. It might be spiritual blindness. In vain do they worship Him, teaching for doctrine, the commandments of men. Ever learning, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Am I getting close? I had preconceived notions, because I was a catholic myself, but when I started reading the Bible, the ONLY source of truth, I got saved too. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure it out, does it? 🇵🇭😎 It is so simple, a child can understand it. 🙀😂 So maybe most can't see the forest because there are too many trees in the way. 😕😞 They think it can't be so simple, but it is. 😆😃😀😁😇😄

If you'll pardon the interjection: if you'd only joined the Catholic Church, you wouldn't ever need to worry about belonging to a "works-based religion"; the Catholic Church condemned Pelagianism at the Council of Ephesus, over 1000 years before Luther was born.

LOL, the works based religion (WBR) I was in, WAS the Roman Catholic Church.
