You "grow" into your name. I always wonder about a grown man "called", Jimmy , Donny, Junior, Bobby, Andy....
I hated my name....wanted to be a Debbie, Susie, Lauie, Monica or Katy...instead I was named for a Great-Auntie, Lola. A name I had to accept, knowing it was different and growing-up had to become LOLA. I was in my late 20's when I had a bit of a clue and now in my mid 40's, I am LOLA. Not Debbie or Katy.

Andrew, Ava and Grace are all "family" names and I if I am blessed with any more children those names are in the running....Elizabeth, Victoria, Peter, Michael and Ian have been named after loved ones, parents, aunties or uncles....not according to a "trend".

I am not saying that feel sorry for him in any sense, I just wonder what made him snap....just trying to understand. But I do know that that might be impossible. He is disturbed, and might be insane....but what made him so? He is a curosity, and has made himself a freak in a modern-day sideshow, why? He had opportunity and money and talent?....No, I am not defending, just wondering why.

Agree...BUT if our children have lost direction and childhood it is our fault for not taking charge and not teaching them manners, respect and proper decorum. One cannot blame the children if they are savages, one must look to their parents, community and schools. If a child cannot find direction at home or school they are lost. An we are a lesser civilization with each lost child, each child that cannot read or do simple math or has a child at 13 or drops out of school...they become our "child" for life.

At what point did that adorable little black boy snap? He is beautiful. Nice eyes, smile and so normal and happy looking. What happened? What happened to him as a child? Who abused him? Why did he grow up and want to change everything about his face? His nose, eyes and mouth? To only become a cartoon of himself? Was it his father? One of his brothers? His agent? His Mother or sisters? Who abused this child enought to make him "mad"? Not defending his actions but he speaks of his lost childhood...who made him grow up...they are just as guilty as MJ.

LOL !!! I read your post and had to laugh. My son, now 27, loved to watch spooky movies....vampire, Frankenstein...the older, the more of a bad B movie the better, he loved them and he was 3 or 4 years old and that was what ran every Saturday afternoon, could not tear him away from the TV. I deal in fine art and antiques and appraise personal property and real estate, and when he was a baby and toddler he went with me, everywhere ...old houses, old attics, spooky basements. Now, we were in the basement of a very old home and he was 4ish....there was an old hall tree with the mirror missing, my son looked into the place where the mirror should have been expecting to see his reflection and saw NONE !!! He screamed and yelled...it was awhile before got to the bottom of that "fit"....he thought he had become a vampire in the middle of the night because he had no reflection. He is a very well adjusted young man now and able to tolerate sunlight .

We are not headed for a crisis, We are in a crisis...right now. It is not that small business does not want to provide for employees and many that have in the past have found that in the post 9/11 economy, it is not possible and keep the doors open. So, do you fire an employee or two or three or do you lessen benefits? Hard choice. If they are long and good employees you do your best until it really hurts...then you have to make a hard choice. I decided to keep my employees, if they would stay, let benefits go...mine went too. All stayed. Bad times always get better, been there before. We are all in this together...some just don't understand.

The only thing that I can add, is that if you are good at what you do, you salary is what the market will bear at the time and go for it because there may not be a second chance !!! The KEY is, You are THE BEST, and you can get your price...
It does not matter your path just that you can deliver the goods...only those who cannot deliver complain that you are over paid.

LOL...You keep on trying to say that I am for mor legislation or fat tax when I have stated in previous posts that, that is not so. I just say get off your butt !!! Move more then you eat !!! Watch what you eat !!! It is no ones fault but your own if you are Fat and you are going to die early and miss tons of life. It is your choice !!! You don't have to be extreme....just careful.
Personally I want to see my kids and grandkids grow up and have a long full life. Healthy is up to me.
Stop trying to make in into the "fat police"...everyone needs to police themselves and know that if they are not careful food choices and lack of reasonable exercise will result in an early demise. The Government cannot make your choices but it is up to everyone to learn and why put your family through the pain of your illness, death or incapacity...simply because you did not eat right. It just makes no sense to me...why throw your self in the path of a bus?

So totally American that I don't want anyone infringing on my rights and my life.

I have only one thing more thing to say...most everyone here, includeing my self is a Christian and belives in God's word. I belive that there is a passage about your body being a "temple" but it does go beyond that...you were given the gift of life and your body and it is your to take care of that gift.

I am not nor did I say that we needed laws to control food intake or a fat tax, all I said was watch what you do, watch how you live, embrace health and the rest of us will not have to pay for your poor habits and it will only get worse if you are not aware and you shorten your life and possibly become a burden to those you love and who love you. Not my choice it is yours. I don't belive in more laws just responsibiliy as any American.

Try owning a small business and wanting to do the best for your employees but you cannot afford to give them the best break possible on health insurance. No, I am taxed now and I cannot afford to totally pay health insuance for my employess ans some of them cannot afford the cost either. Is that fair, nope? Think about it, America is fat and is not trying to do better...to eat healthier or just want to live and live a good long heathy life. Think about this, fat people die younger and don't leave an attractive corpse, just a big one.

True lack of sleep does that as well but part of that can be traced back to being overweight. Not breathing properly during sleep is a result of overweight and results in some not sleeping for days. Depression, high BP, stroke, high cholesteral, heart problems, knee and hip problems, diabetes and on and on are a direct result of being fat and not being active. I say face the addiction it is greater then any other addition because it is legal and those with no self control can go wild.
Simple rule...You have to move more then you eat. You have to burn those calories to maintain. If you sit on your butt you will need a bigger chair !!!

I was there because I was hungry and it was the lesser of all evils....it was connected to a Quick Trip and I needed gas and Wendy's has good salads. Yes the parents were totally at fault for setting a poor example and feeding the kid all of the wrong things and not telling him about restraint and greed. I am with the lawyer...if that is what it takes to get the general publics attention, so be it. Something needs to shock the fatties as well as the enablers. There is no reason for super size or biggie....and put the litte order of fries back on the menu. Pandering is a crime in relation to sex...why not food? Fat people are just going to cost money in the future. They are going to have more health problems and mental issues...personally I don't want to pay more in insurance for anothers food addiction or resulting health problems. Getting off their colletive butts and walking would be a start !!!

Say what you will about the lawyer but he is not at fault. I was in a Wendy's in Ozark, Missouri...between Springfield and Branson, and there was this child about 10 or so he was at least 180 and still eating. His parents were no light weights and he had a huge meal...burger, fries, some sort of nachos, biggie frostie and everything was just a huge portion. And he was eating ....grazing and the entire time wanting his Dad's food...picking off his Dad's tray...it was sick .
After leaving I told my husband that we saw child abuse in action....that kid was a walking poster child for high BP, Diabetes, knee and hip replacements, heart problems, hope he does not smoke or drink because he will be dead and it will be his parents fault because they did not teach him moderation in all things !!! The parents were Sloppy FAT !!! NOt a good example.
Body is a temple...take care of it and it wil take care of you !!!
    Don't be stupid.

    I am afraid I am a bit more of a "consumer" !!!

    CATEGORY ACRES

    FOOD 3.2

    MOBILITY 0.7

    SHELTER 11.1

    GOODS/SERVICES 10.9

    TOTAL FOOTPRINT 26

IN COMPARISON, THE AVERAGE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN YOUR COUNTRY IS 24 ACRES PER PERSON.

WORLDWIDE, THERE EXIST 4.5 BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCTIVE ACRES PER PERSON.

IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 5.8 PLANETS.

There are better prices outside the "metropolitan" area and Sam's as well as Costco have good prices but they are not everywhere and available to everyone. I just find it odd that there was no reason for the prices to take a jump back up and they did overnight...we are being taken advantage of, no doubt.
