  • Network Axes Fall Hard on Gay Characters

I agree that HGTV overuses homosexual pairs in their programming and I increasingly have to skip that segment as it is totally a waste of my time. I also do not stay tuned to any other TV program that insinuates homo characters into the story line or feature them on a regular basis. The homosexual agenda driven media has spoiled the pleasure of watching TV for me and apparently others as well. That is why I want the cable and dish networks to offer menu's for subscribers to chose their own programming instead of having to pay outrageous fees to carry all of the undesired programs which could never be financially sustained on their own merits.

There has to be shared interests between the US govt bureaucrats and our own socialist elected officials with their counterparts in Mexico. Every time immigration is mentioned by a Republican spokesperson, they should preface what is said by reading off the requirements that Mexico has for entry into Mexico, along with the enforced, stringent rules for any legal transactions such as business, real estate, working, etc. The US has no reciprocal agreement with Mexico that is a tit for tat regarding American citizens receiving the same considerations, and codling, as that which activistists here are enforcing on US tax payers. Nothing about our immigration policy, as is apparent to our citizens who are rightfully concerned about the matter, makes any sense. On any level. Collusion between Mexico and the US has to be exposed and dealt with by our elected Representatives or the end result will be the usurpation of this Republic by a totalitarian regime which will surpass anything that immigrants from any other country are fleeing from. So sad.

I have long wondered why the food stamp program does not require that the amount allocated to kids is also to be used to pay for their school lunches as well as other meal programs. Seems like double dipping for those whose parents will not feed them at home. My sister and I both worked cleaning a class room each school day to pay for our tuition at parochial schools and generally had friends keeping us company and never did we feel in any way put upon etc. A relative worked in the cafeteria to help with her children’s tuition and my children held jobs instead of receiving allowances. Who has gained from the culture of responsibility avoidance whatever the social level they come from? It takes a rather stern approach from this WV state delegate to get the attention of citizens who pay taxes coming and going for social experiments that are contributing to the cultural deterioration of America.

Here we are, watching elected leaders of this Republic, debating the give away of the US treasury to fund the unsupportable maintenance of an endless stream of people from foreign countries. We cannot take care of our own native born Americans and legalized citizens without borrowing money from other countries and running our money machine printing press full time for even more. Money that this socialist, communist, anti American administration has absolutely no intention of ever paying back. Therefore, the theft will never stop without Americans finding a way to stop the treason. The only debate that should be going on is the number of immigrants to be accepted by this govt for permanent citizenship . There has to be a limit which is tied to the capacity of the US to take care of them. It seems that no rules or laws or sacred oaths of office apply to anything this DC crowd is doing, just show time all of the time while our country is circling the drain.

I have to say that I feel the same about the death of Roger Ebert. Further, I extend that negativity to the demise of all, especially free born American citizens, who have, are and will continue to betray this Republic. Low information voters know the difference between right and wrong so I include them as well. Refraining from saying anything bad about those who die with their unrepentant betrayal of America intact is the best I can do.

We preferred gas cook stoves until we picked up a used glass top range to use while gutting and rehabbing our house. I liked it from the beginning because for starters, no well beneath burners having to be continuously cleaned and scoured etc. It also had the control knobs raised at the back of the surface and that eliminated the need to remove the knobs placed in the front which collect grease etc and which also require constant removal for cleaning. We used all of our old cookware, which included much loved and used cast iron skillets, because the surface was already pretty well scratched. We replaced all of the old appliances with stainless and black and got a beautiful black glass top range with knobs at the back. Replaced all the cookware, including spatulas etc. with Teflon and it all works beautifully together. No cast iron because it would scratch the surface and I would probably sooner than later drop a heavy piece and break the glass. Costly replacement. I love shopping for household stuff, so much new and improved to look at. I especially appreciate our now silent diswasher. Have fun when spending big bucks on your big and expensive kitchen appliances and knowing you are taking bread out of the mouths of hungry liberals.

Just finished reading this thread and your observations regarding Pope Benedict laying the groundwork for Pope Francis has been my thought as well. Each pope has his mission from God and considering the house cleaning that was overdue at the Vatican I think that Benedict did his job and made it possible for Francis to do what he has been chosen to do. I admire them both and have read that they are good friends and have worked closely together the last few years.
Another belief I have is that Pope Benedict has chosen to live a mostly monastic life of prayer to help both Pope Francis and the Catholic church. Cloistered prayer is powerful and having a retired Pope pitching in to help the church minister to it's huge population of faithful members is a most welcome and needed thing. Thank God for both Pope Benedict and Pope Francis.

As you said, nice work if you can get it. This royal family of princesses, queen, and dictatorial king, does beat all.
I have long been an advocate of time clocks in the White House. Obama is in need of having a daily reminder of who hired him and what he was employed to do. These frequent vacations for himself undoubtedly are as much a subterfuge for other democrat business as for pleasure. Obama is paid a salary of nearly half a million dollars a year to govern the people of the United States under the rules set forth in the constitution which he swore to uphold and defend. He has in fact spent most of his tenure in office campaigning and raising money for the democrat party. We should get our tax money back and send his royal upkeep to the people he is beholden to, whoever they may be. Unions, academics, etc. and on and on.

My take on the silence of Rush and others regarding the obvious deceits surrounding the Obama eligibility to be the US president comes down to wisely picking your battles.
No value in destroying yourself to no avail.
Obama was put in place to do the job he is now carrying out. It may be that opposition which might impede or seriously interfere with the agenda of the powers behind the Obama throne is just tilting at windmills anyway.

The House Committee on UnAmerican Activities came about because they defined the communist party as advocating the VIOLENT OVERTHROW OF THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT. Sedition and treason were not taken lightly by either the US citizens or most of their elected officials. Most democrat and Republican senators and congressmen supported the US govt whatever political differences they may have had. My only vote for a democrat EVER was for Congressman Larry McDonald of Georgia. LM teamed with NC Republican Senator Jesse Helms, former democrat, to fight the communist infiltration of the US govt. McDonald’s death in a plane headed for Korea, which was shot down by the Russians, was not a coincidence IMO. The communist infiltration has progressed to their now open advocacy of the total destruction and remake of our Republic into an appendage of the socialist, one world govt. Communists and variations thereof call themselves whatever umbrella name fits a current agenda and avoids whatever is left of the stigma of admitting their communist affiliation. Oh well, speaking of pills!!!

Obama includes reference to gays in just about any opportunity to give a statement on any topic. It is a daily occurrence and along with his pro gay marriage support we now have Hillary Clinton and Bob Portman chiming in. The barrage of pushing the gay agenda forward is concurrent with the Supreme Court now taking on their issues and the attempt is to influence the SC to rule in their favor. After the peeling off of SC Justice John Robers on Obamacare for the socialists, I am prepared for any outcome.

One thing I am expecting, particularly if things go the gay route, is for the closet door which is being inched open by Hillary Clinton and Obama, to be swung wide and both they and their toadies will come clean as to their own sexual orientation. The democrats are preparing the way for them and will make it seem so acceptable that it will be the main plank in Clinton's presidential platform.

The most offensive thing about the MSM ridicule of Rubio was the attempt by their designated comics to appear hip and knowledgeable with a contorted exaggeration of the water sip incident. Unfunny and disgusting. They were not anywhere close to being entertaining. I cringed at the really strained attempts made to squeeze a laugh from their audience who is being stage prompted to do so. The left agenda just pushes where it can, dupes are easily found for the right bucks. Rubio handled it all just fine and maybe his bottle of water will become a prominant part of all of his speaking arrangements from now on.

FOX Roundtable this week brings introduction to the new on the national political scene, Congressman Tom Cotton of Arkansas. Articulate and knowledgeable and a Republican who is not shy in the public arena, particularly important when TV appearance is involved. He would resolve the sequestration dilemma by leaving the defense spending basically as is and favors cutting unnecessary, and or frivolous, social programs. Based on his military service in Iraq he supports the drone program because it is under the purview of the CIC, the US President. He further said that a federal judge should never be involved in military operations. When Wallace asked first term Congressman Cotton his thoughts about Senator Marco Rubio responding to the upcoming State of the Union address by President Obama, he was enthusiastic in that Rubio is a fresh young voice (as is Cotton) for the Republican party and thinks his selection is a good choice. POWERLINE blog has an interesting writeup on Tom Cotton's background. Impressive. Oh,the South East Arkansas Tea Party Express enthusiastically endorsed him and held a rally in Hot Springs on his behalf. Tom Cotton won and became the fourth Republican congressman from Arkansas.

What I understand about Cris Cristy is that he was and is a disappointment to me but that is my misunderstanding of his politics. The reality hit me when I listened to his speech at the Republican convention which was supposed to be an endorsement of our candidate Mitt Romney. Christy endorsed Christy. It went downhill from there and remains so. I cannot imagine that Christy will be the Republican nominee in the next round, if there is one. Unless Republicans learn how to offset or overcome voter fraud, notional elections will be moot for our candidates.

I have talked with family members who have children in school and they are all pro gun for one or another reason. As for safety in schools, an armed guard was only one solution, backed up by practical means of protection for individual classrooms and other school facilities. Pointed out was the fact that all govt and state buildings, court facilities, and more, have surveillance cameras everywhere, armed guards to enter the bldgs, and it is just accepted by all who come and go. So, practical backup is relatively affordable, acceptable because of acquaintance with usage elsewhere. Cameras in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, etc. Pepper spray canisters, mace, taser for the teacher to use, and whatever other useful weapon, could be in locations within every close off area for protection of those within. Sensible application of course for availability of usage. If every room had a switch to trigger the sprinkler system, which should be in all schools already, it would be a major interruption to invaders and stop or buy time for more lethal action by the victims. Lots more but people are thinking about the situation and I am hoping that the political prostitutes who thrive on crisis are not going to distract from the real issue of safety for the inhabitants of school buildings, children, teachers, etc,.

I recently received a letter from Rience Previs, spelling of name is phonetic, asking for input and funds. I have replied that until, and unless, the Republican party acknowledges and publicly supports an investigation into voter fraud, nationally and regionally, I will not have confidence that the party can actually win a national election. Further, our financial support will only go to local candidates, possibly state, until our votes are secure from theft. That is a starter for what is an absolute must for the Republican leadership to attend to ASAP if it wants to encourage members to listen to anything else they may have in mind.

A blessed Christ mas to all.

The only way I see to change the course of this now socialist govt is to shut it down in any way available. Congress should go home, having done their job of submitting pertinent bills, and leave the senate to their predictable cowardly approach to governing by inaction.

There is no point in worrying over what the socialist democrat media will say about anything. They will pitch the Republicans as villains and the socialist democrats as either saviors or victims, and/or both, as the situation calls for. Principle is all that the Republicans have left to guide them. Black and white might be harsh, and gray is useful for moderation, but a stark line in the sand is upon us and no time for dithering. This socialist administration is in full destruction mode of this Republic's very existence. When all is said and done, only our congress has the power and means to do anything permanent about it. In short, cut off the money. Maybe submit a bill of impeachment for Obama which will accent the seriousness of congressional resolve to take back control of this country for themselves and the US citizens who elected them.

We have spent years saving money for the democrats to spend. Time to call the game what it is, BLACKMAIL. We will not win whatever course of action we take.
Therefore, do what is best for America and take the hard road of closing the taxpayer funded ATM. Congress should just adjourn and go home. Obama is already one foot out the door to his new digs in Hawaii, also tax funded of course. Obama and the socialists have feathered their tax funded nests and will continue to enjoy their lavish life styles until the reality of national disaster invades their own lives.

Asked how they made much of a living that way, the response was, “I never have less than $150 on me”. Then they explained that there were COMPASSIONATE people who always gave when asked.

Obviously, there is a way to get out from under this ,beyond stupid, one sided deal with democrats. Could have been done years ago. Form a new party doing the same as the closed down GOP. And why is this coming out now at this particular time?
Seems to me we still do not know all of the facts especially how fraudulent voting cannot be stopped under the civil rights voting laws. I am missing something but thirty years is a long time for Republican administrations to have tolerated this facilitation of voter fraud.

I think that your last paragraph is where I am just now. Four more years of flooding this country with foreigners who will support whoever feeds them, food plus whatever, and consolidation of control of the US govt by those who now have a good grip on it will leave us with a lost and betrayed Republic.
We have a certifiable loony Vice Pres and a lazy, self absorbed, anti American Pres whose main function these past four years was raising money and campaigning for his democrat reelection. Still this election kept them in office and the commie band plays on.
Voter fraud has to be accepted as a major factor in any further elections. Unless we can either find a way to become experts at that game or stop it, we will not win anything important.
A way must be found to circumvent the media, MSM, because they are beyond doubt an adjunct of the democrat party and report thru that socialist lens. With voter fraud , media bias, free loaders, and power hungry individuals the world over, America has once again come to the point of sink or swim. Or drown.
On the bright side, I believe that Romney did win, and by large margins. That means there are millions of Americans who got the message of freedom and who will be taking more notice of where we are headed. We can still survive but reality has to govern our thinking and plans for the future.

Now, I emailed a response to a friend who was keeping the death watch with me as others retired and the defeat of the good guys was locked in. GOD IS A DEMOCRAT! His whole progressive, socialist, democrat party is infected with treason top to bottom and they are aware that this presidential outcome is win or die for them.

I watched the debate and was impressed that Mitt Romney once again was sure footed, well spoken, informed, and competent to perform the duties of President of the United States of America. Obama has not been informed or competent or even present on the job he was hired to do when he was sworn in to be our president. i.e., Obama has spent the entire past ten months fund raising and campaigning for the socialist democrat party he officially heads. The tax payers have been bilked for his generous salary and the millions of dollars of peripheral costs it takes to cart him around.
Mitt Romney is a doer, Barack Obama is a talker. Both have their talents and it is clear which resume fits the needs of the US Presidential office. Debates can easily degenerate into bumper sticker zingers, smackdowns, gotcha etc. and will still never cover all of the viewer's super sure fire perfect response had they been on stage. Romney won by not being drawn into the quicksand of the Obama tactic of flinging out lie after lie which cannot be addressed in the time allowed for rebuttal. Showing yet again just how experienced and capable of dealing with world leaders a President Romney is.

Mitt just has to keep on telling the truth and not be distracted by the various vested interests who want to destroy him. So far the efforts of the Obama operatives have backfired on themselves and only drawn attention to the meanness and deceit that drives them.
Mitt Romney will probably win even the reprobate vote with the continuing efforts of these socialist losers to bring him down. The prospect of Obama and Biden winning this election must be quite worrisome to those who ride the wagon. A repeat of the last four years with Obama and Biden at the nation's helm means many of the freeloaders will be dumped from the cart and have to fend for themselves. I honestly believe that many democrats are hoping that Romney wins and saves them from themselves. Reality has to kick in with the smarter ones.

Why would she cover for this administration? Clintons do not do anything political just willy nilly. They may gain in ways known only to themselves but Obama for sure cannot count on them being concerned about his best interests. .

Joe Biden bordered on maniacal with his switching expressions of somber and then inappropriate giggling and smirking and eye rolling and general distracting behavior. My husband left the room for another TV with sports on. I hung in to see what could be garnered from this high level debate between two men, either of whom could be our next national leader. What I saw was a serious Paul Ryan trying to have a back and forth discussion with a political hack whose only goal was to obfuscate and diminish any positive impact that Ryan might have on this election. The Biden antics, no doubt rehearsed, canceled any gain that might have been made by either side. That was the point of course. An honest debate would have been negative for Obama and positive for Romney.

Obama is the ultimate in "enough about you, let's talk about me" The national mood has now switched to talking about Romney and the Obama supporters have to deal with the shift in public attention to what Romney is saying. The real Obama has to suffer being shown up for the self centered anti American he actually is.

Last night we saw the real Romney and the real Obama. Romney did not have to dodge and fake intelligence and knowledge. Obama is shallow and biased to the point of ignorance of anything beyond that progressive, socialist bias.
More than ever I saw Obama as a puppet of the machine that brought him to be CIC. He does what he is told and is happy to comply. He will leave office and live in luxury for the rest of his life. I believe that he will be happy to lose this election and get on with what is really important to him---cool, pretentious, important to know celebrity, man about town, jet set darling, etc.
Mitt will continue to be the person we saw in this debate. Knowledgeable, intense, focused, determined to do the best he can at whatever the situation calls for. Mitt is wired to work hard and views a job as a challenge. Obama is wired the complete opposite.

The lady needs to lose weight for health reasons but that is her problem. I can see that her viewers might comfort themselves by comparison of their overweight bodies with hers but neither she nor they should delude themselves into thinking that nobody notices. I see so many people terribly overweight and if children are with them they are generally overweight as well. The younger people can lose weight while their bodies will still more easily absorb the stretched skin that results from being fat. The older one gets before losing the weight, the more serious the problem becomes of dealing with all of the extra skin. Major surgery for those really obese, no longer young, people who have delayed the decision to trim down. Exercise and a healthy diet has to become a habit to replace the lack of both which results in poor health as well as surplus weight. Dietary self indulgence can be overcome with awareness of the problem and a desire to normalize ones weight.

This is my view as well. Seems that intentional or not, Romney has found the way to get main stream media attention. Talk strong and truthful and let the utube process run with it. The democrats have to refute what Romney said and in so doing admit that what he says is factual. This will not daunt them since they lie and distort as easily as they breathe but it will help Romney with Americans who are just now seeing the full extent of the devastation Obama and his socialist administration have brought on all of us.

I see Romney as having nothing to lose and everything to gain by continuing on a blunt and truthful path in voicing the status of our country economically and the cause and effect and solution of same.

I think that letting the media decide what is acceptable for our side to say is what will destroy us. Free ride for democrats and walk on eggs for Republicans.

Quote 1. they intended it as an ambush in Oct.

I have high hopes that the Romney campaign has a mutually assured destruction plan, MAD, ready to go when, not if, the Obama forces unleash their usual cutesy, smugish, ambush of the Republican opponent.

This particular video of Romney speaking the actual facts driving this election, is not damning since to refute it is an admission of the brink of disaster this country is teetering on.

“What a revealing week” indeed. You have expressed what has been the observations of our family regarding the absolute meltdown of US foreign policy and the deliberate lying of the media about the cause and effect of those policies both at home and abroad. Glenn Beck has been predicting these riots and upheaval for months. The administration had only to tune in to his TV program on Fox which ended over a year ago to see the need to secure our embassies and personnel from the upheaval now taking place. The UTUBE film being blamed is after the fact and an excuse for the usual denial of blame by this Obama president and his democrat administration for any and every failure of their socialist, progressive, communist policies.
Mitt Romney responded to the news of the murder of the American ambassador and other Libyan personnel as he should have and the press and other mouth pieces for this inept and dangerous administration continued to focus on his response rather than the absence of US Embassy security.

The whole of the Democrat lame convention renomination of Obama wherein we saw the debacle of God and Israel first in and then out and then back in their platform because of Muslim votes is part and parcel of this rioting and mid East turmoil. Obviously the Muslim Brotherhood is in full sway and flexing their mussels in a power play.
The US is in deeper peril than can be expressed by me. We have our country being run by an administration which by any rational standards has failed both domestically and internationally. I pray most fervently that Mitt Romney replaces these traitors now in control of the US govt.

Agreed. Pot yes, beer no. I recall that Billy Carter, Pres Carter's brother, had a beer line going but it did not help Carter to get reelected. Again, Obama and his crew are misreading the electorate. Beer drinkers are pretty much reality based. Maybe drinking beer helps to brunt the reality of Obama's wrecked economy.

We have been without Internet access for the better part of this week and it is now restored so what do I see right off but the Mormon bashing regulars still recruiting for whoever is running them. I only post to add my voice to those posters who have already stood up for Ann Romney. The future First Lady gave an outstanding speech which was uplifting, inspirational, and very intelligent. Being a stay at home mom takes an abundance of smarts and survival skills and I doubt she spent any time hating on non Mormons.
The reason there is an absence of more pro Romney posters is quite obvious.

When this Todd Akin story first broke I thought how lucky that it happened now instead of closer to the election when nothing could be salvaged. I think the dems had a plan for getting Akin to implode at a more strategic time for them and if he stays in they will still implement it. They just have to create another abortion related situation which Akin will handle as adroitly (!) as he managed with this present self inflicted political blunder.
I heard Akin say he had done no moral wrong and he was staying in the race. That is certainly true but I would add that the word 'yet' belongs after wrong. I believe that the risk of losing this national election to the socialist democrats if he continues to block another viable candidate from replacing himself, is not justified only for the purpose of bolstering his moral position.
Akin was trying to present his position as a pro-lifer who wants to protect the lives of unborn babies regardless of the manner in which they were conceived. Like many of us who get wound up and don't always choose the best way to express ourselves, Akin goofed. Both politically and factually.
What are the chances that Akin voters in the primaries will still support him in the general, especially those democrats who crossed over to help him win? He was in a three way race so there are others to consider for replacing him. Akin has already made a huge blunder which will continue to impact the Republican campaign adversely. I hope he does not continue gifting the democrats with his insistence on a moral stand that is not the issue in any case and is chiefly a concern for himself.
