Authorities on Wednesday night continued to investigate a Redlands home tied to Syed Farook, a suspect identified in connection with the mass shootings that killed at least 14 people and injured at least 17 people at a social services center in San Bernardino on Wednesday morning. A few hours after the mass shooting, authorities followed a tip to the home on Center Street in Redlands. As officers approached, the suspects fled in a dark SUV. A police pursuit ensued, ending back in San Bernardino, where a gunbattle broke out.

A bit of good news to share: A reliable source has informed me that Father John Corapi, a popular priest among orthodox Catholics who departed public life after a tumultuous period a few years ago, remains in the priesthood and is re-establishing his spiritual life. There's no indication he'll be returning to public life anytime soon, if ever. However, it's nice to know that Father Corapi can at least be a quiet prayer warrior during this extremely difficult time in the Church and world. I won't go into the particulars about what transpired in the past – it's water under...

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The Connecticut home of the man who carried out the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary school has been demolished, Newtown officials said Tuesday. The 2-acre lot where the 3,100-square-foot house once stood in a leafy, suburban neighborhood will be left as open space under a plan approved by town officials. Several neighbors had asked for the building to be taken down, describing it as a constant reminder of the tragedy. Among them, Dave Ackart said in a letter: “Not only is the property a constant reminder of the evil that resided there – those of us...

As Twitchy has reported, President Obama ordered the release of five Gitmo detainees to secure the return of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl from his Taliban captors in Afghanistan. Recently, a tweet was published from the account of Bowe Bergdahl’s father, Robert, which stated a desire to see all Gitmo detainees released. Here’s the tweet from Bob Bergdahl’s account, which was published May 28 and deleted Saturday night (at the time of publication the deletion of the tweet has not been acknowledged on the account): @ABalkhi I am still working to free all Guantanamo prisoners. God will repay for the death of...

A Texas talk show host stormed off set Tuesday after a heated discussion was ignited when she expressed disapproval of coverage showing Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend. “Can we just agree that this was an opportunity to make news?” KTXD-TV’s “The Broadcast” host Amy Kushnir asked. “He has every right to do what he wants, that’s not my issue,” she added. “I just don’t want it in my face.” “Well, then maybe you don’t need to see romantic comedies or when people kiss on television,” one of the co-hosts shot back. “Why does she not have the right to say...
  • Brian Kilmeade just blamed the Te Party candidate for Cuccinelli's loss.(Vanity)

Now I know why I take Fox News in small doses. I was watching Fox & Friends this morning and caught Brian Kilmeade blaming the Tea Party candidate for Cuccinelli's loss. Hello! Cuccinelli was backed by the Tea Party! He was most likely referring to the fake Libertarian candidate backed by an Obama bundler. Blaming the so called "Tea Party" candidate for the results of the VA race is flat out lying! No more Fox News for me! Not even small doses!

Police have identified Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, as the "black hat" bombing suspect, killed during the manhunt that followed. Readers have pointed out that Johannes Hirn made Tsarnaev the subject of a photo essay, "Will Box for Passport," taken before the boxer competed at National Golden Gloves competition in Salt Lake City. The captions give us a micro-profile of the suspect. Tamerlan, who studies at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston and wants to become an engineer, took the semester off from school to train for the competition. Tamerlan fled Chechnya with his family because of the conflict in the early...

The next American wealth boom has officially begun. It may not feel like it for many Americans. But with the Dow breaching 14,000, shareholders and investors have recovered the more than $8 trillion in wealth lost during the recession and attained levels of paper wealth they haven't seen since the Roaring Oughts. The stock market has gone from wealth destroyer to the nation's largest manufacturer of new millionaires and billionaires. The market moves are creating a new virtuous cycle of confidence for the wealthy. A new survey from Spectrem Group shows that millionaire confidence in the economy hit the highest...

The White House scrambled Friday to explain Vice President Biden's confusing statement that "we weren't told" of requests for more diplomatic security in Libya, claiming he was referring only to "himself" and President Obama. Biden, during Thursday's debate, had made the controversial statement in response to criticism from Paul Ryan about the protection of diplomatic posts in Libya in the run-up to the Sept. 11 terror attack. Moderator Martha Raddatz pressed him: "And they wanted more security there." But Biden responded: "Well, we weren't told they wanted more security there. We did not know they wanted more security again." Read...

BOWLING GREEN, KENTUCKY, April 24, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – Campus police stood by as students placed condoms over thousands of tiny crosses as part of an approved university “art project,” according to a pro-life student at Western Kentucky University. The campus group Hilltoppers for Life obtained university permission to erect 3,700 crosses, commemorating the number of babies aborted each day in America, as part of its Cemetery of the Innocents. John Sohl, the organization’s president, said he confronted two vandals early Friday morning with his video camera. One of them “told me at the beginning of this that she did have...

(CNN) - Ron Paul dinged rival Rick Santorum Monday for being a "very liberal" candidate, saying the former Pennsylvania senator and staunch social conservative voted for too much spending during his time in Congress. Speaking to CNN Senior Congressional Correspondent Dana Bash before a campaign event with his son, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, the White House hopeful said his rival had taken positions counter to true conservative ideas. I mean, have you looked at his record? Go look at his record," Paul said. He continued: "He spends too much money. He wasn't leading the charge to slash the budgets and...

George Lopez wasn't afraid to talk about show getting canceled on "Lopez Tonight" yesterday -- but he told the crowd that he was being fired because of the color of his skin. Lopez -- whose voice was featured in the "Smurfs" movie -- was talking about how Sony has greenlit a "Smurfs" sequel during his monologue ... and quipped, "So today I lost some work because I'm brown, but I got some work because I'm blue!" Is Lopez REALLY blaming race ... or was he just trying to crack a bad joke?

Washington D.C., Aug 1, 2011 / 05:45 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- The U.S. bishops spoke out on August 1 against federal rules requiring nearly all new health plans, including those of most religious agencies, to cover all government-approved methods of contraception as well as surgical sterilization. “Under the new rule our institutions would be free to act in accord with Catholic teaching on life and procreation only if they were to stop hiring and serving non-Catholics,” said Cardinal Daniel N. DiNardo, chairman of the U.S. bishops' pro-life committee. “Although this new rule gives the agency the discretion to authorize a ‘religious’...

A Detroit father said agents with the Transportation Security Administration singled out his special-needs son for a pat-down while the family was headed to Disney World, MyFoxDetroit.com reported, an incident that the TSA admitted was a “case of bad judgment.” David Mandy said agents at Detroit Metro Airport took his son Drew, 29, and asked him about the padding underneath his pants, which turned out to be adult diapers. Drew, who is severely mentally disabled, had trouble understanding the agents’ orders because his family said he has the mental capacity of a 2-year-old. When the father tried to intervene and...

An inflammatory anti-abortion ad equating abortion by black women with genocide will be taken down from a Manhattan billboard, officials said today. The controversial advertisement — posted on a billboard at Sixth Avenue and Watts Street and sponsored by pro-life groups Life Always and thatsabortion.com — features a pensive little girl beneath the startling message: "The most dangerous place for an African American is in the womb." The Rev. Al Sharpton and Planned Parenthood groups, which had blasted the ad as a racist attack against a woman’s right to choose, applauded the decision to yank the message. WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama said Monday that even though the recession has been officially declared over, for the millions of people who are out of work or otherwise struggling "it's still very real for us." Focusing on the poor economic conditions that existed when he took office, Obama said, "The hole was so deep that a lot of people out there are still hurting." He addressed a town-hall-style meeting telecast live on CNBC. He spoke shortly after a group that dates the beginnings and ends of recessions said that the economic downturn that began in December 2007 ended in...

With the Statue of Liberty as a backdrop, an impassioned Mayor Bloomberg yesterday supported the development of a mosque near Ground Zero and chastised opponents for what he said was trampling on religious freedom. "I believe that this is an important test of the separation of church and state -- as important a test as we may see in our lifetimes -- and it is critically important that we get it right," the mayor said in remarks on Governors Island -- chosen by the mayor as a symbol of religious freedom in America. "To cave to popular sentiment would be...

Matthew Snyder's funeral in 2006. "I don't think I'm going to be writing a check until I hear from the Supreme Court," Snyder told Fox News on Tuesday. "I'm not about to pay them anything."
