The CrunchBang distro sounds interesting, will check it out.

Also ran across another useful one called Super Ubuntu. Which is Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic with all the extra audio, dvd, and video codecs preinstalled including many extra programs. Saves alot of post installation time setting up. Install is over 1gb in size, real quick with USB drive.

Have enjoyed the JFK FR discussions throughout the years, learned alot.

It's a joy to watch the ‘Lonenutters’ gradually disappear spouting the official line, which BTW seems to me the the farthest out conspiracy of all, about JFK!

Also a long time student on the assassination here.

Should be a good panel on JFK tonight, C2C with George Knappe and Jim Marrs.

Thats a very informative guide, thanks.

Have been using Ubuntu since 8.04 LTS.

Just installed Karmic 9.10 on a dell D600 dual boot with XP, and Karmic Ubuntu Netbook Remix on Acer Aspire One.

Karmic is my favorite version by far, very fast and smooth.

  • Arnold the fool ask's: Who is running the state?

    04/27/2009 10:23:45 PM PDT · 8 of 8

Vote in the poll John & Ken had today. It was running about 95% to 5% that they should run the state instead of Arnold. :>)

Bull or Not.......Just another important reason to secure the border!

And if it secures the border I don’t care if it’s true or not. It’s amazing more things like this haven’t happened in the past.

Congrats! And Enjoy! In a time when hams can enjoy the hobby with computer technology. They do a good job incorporating them together.

Passed Extra in 98, the nature of CW caught my interest and have stayed with that mostly. Like the fact that there's still lots of CW activity, and contests. Did alot of Fists operations, SKCC for manual keys.

    Good Luck

  • Obama To Push Immigration Bill Despite The Risks [12 Millions Illegals Get To Stay]

I’m sure the govt will try to push something else through when the nation’s attn is on Amnesty.

But, I’m shocked that any President would legalize people from another country when so many Americans are out of work!

It seems as though there are forces from within our own govt trying to destroy us.

  • Obama to Push Immigration Bill as One Priority

    04/08/2009 9:49:17 PM PDT · 43 of 49
This is a lie, there have been a wide variety of opponents from all parties.

All the way back to the 2006 election where many Democrats won seats based on their promise to oppose Amnesty!

A BS article from the NYT’s, as usual, meant to create a perception rather than report accurately. Also, Real Americans that are out of work aren't from one party.

***Opponents, mainly Republicans, say they will seek to mobilize popular outrage against any effort to legalize unauthorized immigrant workers while so many Americans are out of jobs.***

The debate about Microsoft and Linux reminds me alot of how people look at the govt’s and citizen's role.

With Microsoft more is done for you, less input is required, that's what you pay for. No matter your input/interaction with MS, there is a limit to what you control.

Linux is free natured and spirited, you become involved and interact with a system that puts the user first. The user sets the precedent, and gets out of it what they put into it. A few months of studying a Linux O/S from a book covering the installation, and use of say Hardy Heron 8.04 for example, would liberate many computer users in a refreshing way. :-)

  • Conservative talk radio on the wane in California

    03/15/2009 10:31:25 AM PDT · 43 of 63
This article is a classic example of the Mainstream Media creating a ‘perception’ rather than reporting responsibly and accurately.

I know the Calif Talk Radio scene well and for years. Some of the names mentioned not on radio anymore left over a year ago. This is mixing old news into a story fabricated for now. For example John Ziegler left long long ago, was involved in a station power struggle. John & Ken hit home more on the Calif budget problems than Ziegler did and they are still on the air.

Larry Elder might have been involved in a power struggle too, at KABC. He was replaced by someone more conservative than him, Mark Levine.

If anything there is more variety in conservative talk radio shows in Calif, and in the LA/Orange County area, there are new conservative talk show hosts being tried almost monthly. Check out KGIL 1260 stream.

This article is an example of how hard talk radio has hit California's state policies, ppl are being informed, tax revolts are developing, and the truth is on the air waves just like it's supposed to be!

Really like racing cars in general, used to do it, SCCA racing mostly Riverside and Willow Springs. Formula Vee...The yearly racing schedules at Riverside held a variety of different cars Nascar, Sports Cars, Open Wheel, Indy, Bikes, I think there was some Drag Racing at one time.

BTW, there is one racing series that includes drag racing and road racing together, :-)

  • Senate Rejects Fairness Doctrine, But Dems ‘Open Back Door to Censorship’

So the Fairness Doctrine has been killed. That applies to radio waves.

Wouldn't the ‘Backdoor Censorship’ through the FCC require that all broadcast be balanced like CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, NPR, CNN, MSNBC, Foxnews, Newspapers, etc?

If so that might kill the deal right there.

For those around Orange County or San Bernardino keep an eye on the KFI 640 John & Ken site. They will be holding a Tax Revolt Rally as soon as they secure a location. I look forward to going.

I was disappointed that the Republicans didn't leave the Lockdown in a Civil Disobedient way to make a point on no new taxes. Could have been a start to an anti tax revolution. Of course all they were doing was posturing and acting, nothing else.

Been on here for years, and was a big supporter of Fred Thompson on FR. Big FR fan here.

The Media won't have a choice, they can cover the Republican defiance anyway they want.

It's the attention it will bring that will count. The Republicans already have support from the John & Ken show on KFI 640 and many others, stream the show now. And support the Fatwah to establish a new anti-tax Assembly leader.

It's time to resist, the moment is right. And another suggestion, I would recommend those who have not read the book ‘John Adams’ by McCullough order it now and read it a couple of times for added direction.

***Are you out of your mind? Republican obstructionist treated sympathetically by the media? You must be new here, I mean to this world, to even consider for a moment even fair treatment by the media.

The Republicans will be vilified as beasts from hell. The media will use pictures of starving babies from Africa, photo layouts Hurricane Katrina, and the tidal wave disaster from SE Asia. All will be attributed to the devastation that is being caused by the Republicans.***

The Lawmakers are confined in the ‘Lockdown’.

The ‘anti-tax’ Republicans need to DEFY the lockdown. (Just Leave)

Then, as they're being arrested and interviewed they can create a sympathy situation in the Media, and establish a rallying point for supporters.

They already have Rush's support and others, doing this could be the start of a Conservative/Republican revolution!

He doesn't know what to do? Why not do what he campaigned for during the recall? He's not supposed to be supporting tax or other increases!

As for the Republicans, they need to organize now around Hollister, and establish an anti tax Assembly leader. They have ultra big support in the KFI 640 John & Ken show and their listeners who would promote them and they should have some of these anti tax Republicans go out and promote their new agenda over the airwaves and media.

Call these people and lawmakers, let them know. All the info is on the KFI 640 John & Ken website including a tax calculator to tell you what your tax increase would be. Tax payers are horrified at what our state is trying to do!

***I just called Schwartzeneggers office and the lady there said that as of last night there were three votes needed to pass the budget, and that the Governator doesn’t know what he is going to do. She said he doesn’t want to start from scratch on the budget, but doesn’t know what will happen now that there is a new minority leader.***

John & Ken on KFI yesterday proposed a budget plan without increased taxes. And came up with more than enough money (in the millions) with just spending cuts!

BTW, excellent daily coverage on the budget via their radio show at 3pm pacific.

I have been a McClintock supporter from day one and living the California topic.

Arnold should be questioned and criticized on his support of the increased taxes in the Mainstream Media, and campaign promises. He is conveniently being lumped in with Democrat support for the budget by them.

Arnold is included in the KFI 640 John & Ken Tax Revolt.

***why Arnold and the Republicans against this aren't out there complaining publicly

The msnpatriot account is apparently new to the California topic.

Yes, start where the balance is at it’s worst. Public TV & Radio etc.

Market driven broadcasts would be the last to look at because of their nature.
