I heard Victor David Hanson, the military historian, being interviewed on Hugh Hewitt's show today. He compares our current situation in Iraq with that facing Lincoln in 1864. Everyone had turned against Lincoln after the bloody campaign in VA in the Spring of '64. He was villified by his own party, couldn't win the general election and probably wouldn't even be re-nominated. Anti-war sentiment was gaining strength in the North and it was likely the country would elect McClellen who would then sue for peace with the South. Then Sherman took Atlanta and everything turned. People who hated Lincoln suddenly...

As most of us on FR know, Bush's rationale for the invasion of Iraq was fully justified. This justification has been solidified by physical and documentary evidence found in Iraq after the invation. Just a few examples: 1. The seizure of massive terrorist training camps and official Iraqi documents detailing that terrorists from around the world were being trained over a period of many years. 2. Documents showing an advanced nuclear program that was virtually ready to be jump-started the day we invaded. 3. Documents detailing the solicitation of suicide bombers to attack American and European interests. 4. The providing...

I need help. I got into a shouting match with a "friend" in a store today. He informed me that the hurricane disaster relief from the Red Cross was indeed held up by the Louisiana branch of FEMA, but that FEMA in LA is run by a Republican who was part of the Bush plot to starve/kill Black people. This is insanity, of course. But I'm wondering. Is the Louisiana head of FEMA a Republican, and who appointed him.

Presidential Vote Equation--April 29, 2004 The predictions of GROWTH, INFLATION, and GOODNEWS for the previous forecast from the US model (February 5, 2004) were 3.0 percent, 1.9 percent, and 3, respectively. The current predictions from the US model (April 29, 2004) are 3.2 percent, 2.0 percent, and 3, respectively. In the previous forecast 2004:1 was predicted to be a GOODNEWS quarter, but it turned out not to be. For the current forecast 2004:2 is predicted to be a GOODNEWS quarter, so the total number of GOODNEWS quarters is the same at 3. The economic predictions thus changed very little. The...

Today my son registered at Cal State San Marcos. He was greeted by a Freshman counselor who explained to the crowd of incoming freshmen that "there are lots of really bad professors here." From this introduction, the orientation session went down hill. The students were forced into diversity games, in which the assembled students touched heads, hips, sat on each other's laps and probably exchanged various diseases. Three routund women walked up and down the aisles rattling rattles and talking about diversity. No, they didn't have bones in their noses. There were various booths set up by progressive peace fascists...
