During the Garfield vs. Hancock election a handbill was passed out as a reminder of who the Democrats were. It would be considered inflammatory language today, but if you were at age to still remember the Civil War and was handed this handbill, it was very profound and true.

Why I will not Vote for the Democratic Ticket

I am opposed to the Democratic Party, and I will tell you why.

Every State that seceded from the United States was a Democratic State.
Every man that shot Union soldiers was a Democrat.
Every man that loves slavery better than Liberty was a Democrat.
The man that assassinated Abraham Lincoln was a Democrat.
Every man that sympathized with the assassin – every man glad that the noblest President ever elected was assassinated – was a Democrat’
Every man that wept over the corps of [end of] slavery was a Democrat.
Every man that cursed Lincoln because he issued the Proclamation of Emancipation – the grandest paper since the Declaration of Independence – every one of them was a Democrat.
Soldiers! Every scar you have got on your heroic bodies was given you by a Democrat. Every scar, every arm that is lacking, every limb that is gone, every scar is a souvenir of a Democrat.
The handbill then contrasted Republican and Democrats:
The Republicans have done some noble things – things that will be remembered as long as there is history. But there are some things they did not do.
They did not use an army to force slavery into Kansas…
    They did not oppose emancipation/
    They were not “Ku-Klux”
They did not scourge, and hang, and shoot, and murder men for opinions sake.
They did not organize the Louisiana white league or the South Carolina rifle clubs

They did not drench the South with the blood of inoffensive colored men…

A True or False test for Black Democrats

A “True or False” test consists of a series of statements to be identified as either “true” or “false”. “True or False” tests present an exclusive disjunction (i.e., a pair of alternatives of which only one is acceptable). A simple way to state this is: “One or the other but not both”. Usually there are more true answers than false on most tests. Finally, since there is no guessing penalty and you have a 50% chance of getting the right answer, feel free to guess.

    Statement #1
Dred Scott was born a slave in Virginia. In 1832, after following his owners to Missouri, U.S. Army Major John Emerson, stationed just outside of St. Louis, purchased Scott. In an April 1846 action when Dred Scott made his mark with an “X,” signing his petition in a pro forma freedom suit under Missouri law, to sue for freedom in the St. Louis Circuit Court, his case lit a fire that would not be extinguished until the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863.
In 1857, the Democratically controlled United States Supreme Court decided the Dred Scott Decision. Here is a quote from that decision announcing that Negroes (i.e., Black Americans) “had no rights which the white man was bound to respect; and that the Negro might justly and lawfully be reduced to slavery for his benefit.” 2
While the Supreme Court has never reversed the Dred Scott case, the Supreme Court has stated in the Slaughter-House Cases of 1873 that the Fourteenth Amendment overruled at least one part of it in 1868.

True or False. Your Answer Goes Here: __________

    Statement #2
In 1860, the Republican Party Platform boldly condemned the Fugitive Slave Law and the Dred Scott decision and announced its intent to end slavery and secure equal and civil rights for Black Americans. In 1865, attorney Charles Drake, a leader of the Radical Republican Party after the Civil War helped author Missouri’s state constitution that took away many of the rights, including enfranchisement, enjoyed by Southern sympathizers.

True or False. Your Answer Goes Here: __________

    Statement #3
In 1860 the Democratic Party Platform boldly supported the Fugitive Slave Law and the Dred Scott decision and in an effort to affirm their belief that it was their right to have and hold Black Americans in bondage, proudly distributed copies of the Dred Scott ruling with their party platform. 6 According to the speech of John Hossack, (who was convicted of violating the Fugitive Slave Law), while standing before Judge Drummond, of the United States District Court of Chicago, “the parties who prostituted the constitution to the support of slavery, are traitors.”

True or False. Your Answer Goes Here: __________

NOTE: The answers in this test are all: True.

    We Cannot Escape History
According to David Barton: “It is worth noting that for over a century-and-a-half, Democrats often have taken a position that some human life is disposable — as they did in the Dred Scott decision. In that instance, a Black individual was not a life, it was property; and an individual could do with his property as he wished. Today Democrats have largely taken the same position on the unborn human life — that an unborn human is disposable property to do with as one wishes.” Even our Supreme Court has mentioned its own Pro-Slavery Dred Scott Decision fifty-six (56) times over more than 150 years since issuing their opinion that Black Americans could be owned as property.
I would have thought the United States Supreme Court would be ashamed to even acknowledge, let alone mention, its own ignominious “Dred Scott Decision” in public. However, I would have also thought that Black Americans would never join the party of the Ku Klux Klan. If Marcia Cavell is right and “hope is the other side of history, I fear that neither the Republican nor the Democratic Parties are on the right side of this equation.

Brothers, we really need to talk.

The Left being everything they claim they hate. And you can see why they do it. Just look at the knee-jerk reaction a headline like that gets here. I guess him being a former “George W. Bush administration official” is not an important part of the story at all.

The first line of the story points out he was a former “George W. Bush administration official”. It was the Liberal media that felt him being gay was a more important part of his story, than his experience. Again the Left being everything they claim they hate. And judging by many of the responses I’m reading here looks like the majority have a lot in common with the Liberal media.

No, the mission you accomplished is sending another long time Freeper away, and to the GOP Briefing Room. Me.
Because the insanity tolerated here, many good Freepers have left FR and can now be found having level-headed intelligent discussions about this election at the GOPBR, without all the religious bigotry, or the willful destruction of the last man in left in America that can kick Obama and his evil horde of communist radicals out of the White House. I think I will join those former Freepers. And I will self-ZOT myself, being there is no “cancel my membership” button to be found, and I invite moderators to terminate my account.

Nice job digging back finding past post of mine. Maybe if you would dig father back you will see I strongly supported Cain, and before him Palin, and before her Bush. Romney was never in the mix until now when he is the only one left standing. And maybe you would also learn from my old post what church I attend, which is not Mormon.

For me, when I see “Sea Creatures” and “True Beauty” in the same sentence I have a vision of Mermaids. But for reefers like my wife who has a 250 gallon salt water reef aquarium - sea slugs, angelfish, soft corals, crabs and mollusk of all kinds are like fish porn. She has taken some amazing photos of her own collection, which has been used in magazines and brochures.

I have taken home videos showing the same when I was on the Saratoga. I worked night ops on the flight deck (G2 Ordnance). It is amazing how much the deck will pitch, and still we we remain open for business. Even seen spray-wash from monstrous seas come over the bow on some occasions.

    It’s not just about the person who will sit behind the Resolute desk. We must not forget the President’s cabinet, his advisors, and others that influenced his political ideology ? For Obama we all have become familiar with names like;

A partial list of those who influenced Obama’s political ideology

    Van Jones
    Bill Ayers,
    George Soros
    Cass Sunstein
    Debbie Wasserman Schultz
    Frances Fox Piven
    Reverend Write
    Saul Alinski

We are still in the Primary process, and for those still pinning their hopes on Newt or a third party candidate, then by all means go for it and good luck. But for me I proudly stand with other Palin, Cain, Bachmann, Perry, and now Santorum supporters that are now in the fight of our lives to support Anybody But Obama.
We must not forget, it’s not just who sits behind the Resolute Desk, but the list of names that shapes that person. Do we want to give the list of names above another 4-years to finish what they started?

The only reason I haven’t left FR yet, is because I’m curious just how Pro-Obama this forum is going to go. There seems no stop to it. Especially now that Jim Rob released a statement that he is standing firm on his opposition to Romney throughout this election. That gives complete immunity to all kinds of statements that would not have been tolerated a year ago. You can’t tell who’s serious, and who may be a DU Troll.

For now I’m staying, but I’ve been threaten with Zots a few times for posting level headed statements about this election. Only a matter of time till I get thrown off, I think.

I’m not going to argue that it’s not a cult, But when was the last time a group of Mormons hijacked airplanes and flew them into buildings? One of the candidates running befriends the people with the ideology that see’s America as the great Satan and desires to see Israel wiped out. The other, I take it, supports how the Bush administration handled them. I think this is how this pastor is viewing the choices. Would we rather have him send the message to his congregation that Obama is the better choice? Would that make us feel better?

“I will be dead or in jail by this time next year,”

For a large percentage of people in the Rock Music industry, that is not much of a bold statement. In fact, they probably have beaten the odds if they can go a year without an arrest. But a death threat? They are making things up so they can get a few days of basking conservatives?
