Once read a book about a baseball player (name slips my memory). He didn’t mind giving autographs but what made him angry was when kids were used by adults to get autographs that you knew were later going to be sold for a profit, or fans were rude and demanding.

I heard that almost lead for ammo comes from recycled batteries,etc. Don’t know for sure though.

Brain studies indicate a lifetime of damage to growing brains especially in the areas where “moral decision making” occurs. After the age of about 21 these areas are “set” and are not as susceptible to damage.

It is our sinful nature to be embarrassed and angry when the truth confronts us.

CFLs do not last for me. Just before they may actually begin to pay for themselves they burn out. Some have been rather interesting with the sizzling and smoking when they go. I bought a LED and wrote the date of purchase on it so I don’t forget to check how long they last. I love it so far.

Not every teacher...at least not this one. A new philosophy is emerging whereby teachers and students are taught to “Fight Back” and try to overwhelm the attacker. Some would die but cowering in a corner causes all to die. Right now just teachers are taught these tactics but soon students will also be trained in these tactics also. Some teachers here at my school are CC but I’m sure they don’t have their gun with them. Safe Zone yah know.

At a small farm near where I grew up in SE Missouri an old farmer had a heart attack fell over and was partially consumed by his hogs. So I know it happens.

Not sure where you can get these (if you still can) but Dole raisins are by far superior to the dried out Sun Maid raisins.

Evangelical means “preaching the gospel”. You should feel at home as a Missouri Synod Lutheran, but wherever God leads you find a church that puts the Bible first!

Lutheran Church Missouri Synod is Bible-based and holds the Bible (all of it) to be sacred and the word of God. The ElCA injects a lot of social doctrine and Biblically incorrect feel-good ideas into their beliefs and practices.

At our rural school we have at least one second grader and one kindergarten kid with their own cell phone. Ridiculous!

This is why it is so scary when I see Cisco and other manufacturers of infrastructure networking equipment being made in China. How hard would it be to plant something in those devices.

Missouri teachers are treated like this also. You can get Social Security after 40 quarters but then this "benefit" is dedcucted from your teacher's retirement.

I was on the '97 Sunrayce as an official (we were called Observers) which replaces this race. The speeds of the vehicles then were 50mph easily but they had to obey speed limits through small towns and conserve power to climb hills etc. Penalties for violating rules gave the teams addded seconds or minutes so the time of the race is a bit misleading if they are still doing it the same way.
