There are a lot of people, some of whom I do or did respect, who fail to get it.

(”You were not put upon this earth to ‘get it,’ Mr. Burton!” — Lo Pan)

Even I am a bit left behind sometimes but I recognize that’s because I’m lacking in information; usually (not always, yet) something comes in later that completes the story.

Not to (letter not desired outside of its own thread)-ize the topic but there is a certain merit to trusting the plan -— as long as you’re still questioning it at the same time, which is IMO the whole point. Think or go home.

    >That’s 7.1% annual return, not even including dividends which add another 2-3% in annualized total return. The market has overperformed Newt’s so-called “crazy” plan.

Exactly. If SS were like everyone’s 401k plan, with the ability for people to select their own path, and necessarily including the micro-load index funds, all would be well.

At every downturn someone inevitably posts the “see, you didn’t want this risky scheme” BS meme ‘cause of course I really want 2% gain and the entire thing to fall apart before I see one cent.

Knowing corrupt DC, even if they did manage to do a privatization, it’d be partial, have dozens of brutal restrictions, and be tied to funds that happened to be managed by and provide lavish incomes to the biggest DNC and RNC contributors. … and it’d still beat what we have now.

For the rest of us, it’s rather uncomfortable when the crazies who insist on Total Social Conversion are your employer, your boss/manager/whatever, your clients, or other persons whose whim can tank one’s career, income, reputation and potentially freedom (not so much here yet, but ask Tommy Robinson).

This demonstrates perfectly the plunge into madness that is intersectionalism.

Normal world: Hey, there aren’t a lot of board games appealing to minorities. That’s a big opportunity! (Designs game, makes $$$, everyone happy)

Politically Correct world: Hey, there aren’t a lot of board games appealing to minorities! Let’s protest so that GameCo is forced to issue a game that matches our (leftist) idea of what minorities want! (GameCo makes game, it’s awful leftist diatribe junk, nobody buys it)

Intersectional world: Hey, there aren’t board games made by and for every variation of fictionally-repressed subgroup! Facist (sp) whiteness! Reeee! Destroy all of civilization and replace it with the prosperity of Venezuela and the basic decency of Maoist China.

    In Broward county USSSA:
    - Defrauding an election, illegally keeping reporters out, conspiracy to commit election fraud = retire with generous pension
    - Wearing an unauthorized patch = personal and career destruction

And of course the good guys quickly jump to the defense of the destroyers as they’re following the letter of the law (when it suits them).

Getting really tired of the I-didn’t-get-everything rant from her. So two years in thousands of regulations gone, a tax cut, judges, NAFTA done, 2 SC justices, NK progress, ISIS demolished, and more but no wall yet means it’s all vapor gone 10 minutes after he leaves?

    Fodder for never-win whiners.

    >What good does it do to claim to know all that stuff

FTFY. My experience with Gnostics is that they don't, actually, know something the rest don't. In my opinion, rather, authentic Christianity is exactly the opposite; it removes all the arcane rules and secret whatevers and is starkly plain.

Our rational, egoistic nature tries to rebel against the simplicity of Salvation, almost screaming "that's too easy! It must be more complicated than that" and in recent example Skinhead O'Connor's Muhammedan diatribe boasts the minute regulation of everything that is Muhammedism.

Of course when one says it must be complicated two things happen:

    • One then needs a sufficiently advanced authority that isn't Christ to explain the really real reality, whether that's an imam or as gnostics prefer, a bit of likely-invented text; and
    • Invariably, always, without fail, the other authority flies directly in the face of a clearly stated, obvious, can't-possibly-be-misinterpreted passage of Scripture, to claim that one must do [something expressly forbidden] or not do [something fundamental to Christian life]

It's easy, which of course makes it challenging to us, to discern; the rule is in 1 John 4: "Try the spirits whether they are of God: … Ever spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God..."

Everyone can readily admit that they don't know all of God's plan; but at the same time it's not too hard to see what it *isn't*; and among the things it *isn't* are super-secret mystic knowledge He didn't tell us and behavior entirely at odds with everything He did.

The current leadership of SA displaced rabid Wahabists and disrupted plans to instigate a US/Russia conflict over Syria.

The uniparty, very vocally on the part of former senator no-name but also many nevertrumpers and the MSM, has been incessantly trying to reboot the conflict ever since. The “cui bono” analysis is at once obvious and left to your own device.

While obvious murders like Seth Rich and Jason Fitzsimmons (just to name two of many!) pass without notice, Khashoggi is supposed to be casus belli and the stories pile on unceasingly about how awful it is that we haven’t thrown all progress into the fire over his death.

    > it might force her entire slate of leadership to give way to more moderate leaders from the Midwest and Rust Belt

That’s what people with sense might do; if their message doesn’t work, consider another course.

In leftylogic, the course is always right and above question; the *people* are suspect for not lining up for their own destruction. If (when, God willing) they lose again tomorrow, they will redouble on hate and escalate on sedition.

Nice citation! If memory serves, he says this after Puddleglum speculates that the (green) Witch’s death ended all her magic, and that’s why the underworld is collapsing, but that she was the sort that would be OK with that as long as her slayer would be burned or drowned five minutes later.

1: It’s a topic to itself, and although it does obviously touch on many other subjects of interest nobody should want every discussion to be Q this and WWG1WGA that.

2: A great number of people, good- or ill-intentioned, on other fora introduce extra bonus topics like hollow earth stuff, ancient aliens, and gematria, and those definitely don’t need to be part of the general FR flow (even if you support these correlations, which I don’t).
