A Correct Anthropological Theory: How Conservatives and Liberals evolved!Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunter/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter. The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. Beer required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just...

02/18/05 Associated Press ATLANTA (AP) — The sponsor of a legislative bill that would have required public schools to weigh students and list their body mass indices on their report cards says she's dropping the idea. Rep. Stephanie Stuckey Benfield, D-Atlanta, said calls and e-mails to her office were running heavily against the proposal. ``I've heard from people loud and clear,'' she said. Benfield said she still hopes to do something to help with childhood obesity, ``but not with this bill.'' The measure would have required public schools to weigh students, calculate their weight in proportion to height and list...

Send a message to Washington By Steven Stiefel Times-Journal Staff Writer When I think about the Caribbean Basin Trade Initiative (CBI), I recall seeing dead American marines dragged naked through the streets of Haiti after a flawed military raid on warlords. The CBI gives Haiti and other countries in the Caribbean basin (Honduras, Guatemala, Jamaica, etc.) the same free trade status currently enjoyed by Mexico and Canada under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Currently this agreement does not cover socks, which means socks imported from these countries must have a 17 percent tariff added to their price. A ...

As I passed him, I looked in the rear view mirror as he continued ...

First reported on WBRC AM radio out of Birmingham, repeated on affiliate carrier, WAAX, AM 570 out of Gadsden, AL. This alledged to have occurred in Huntsville, AL. The NAACP is paying a $3.00 per head bounty on new voter registration. Each new registrant is required to be briefed on differences between political parties, before bounty is paid. Alabama Attorney General states that the bounty may not be illegal, but certainly presents a wrong impression. Others quoted as calling it "sleaze" on the part of NAACP.
