Yeah, that’s it guys. Mock one of the people holding the purse strings to a Mars mission.
This HAD to be written by a Gen(?)dumbass if actually employed by Space.com.
Not every seemingly dumb question is an opportunity for you to show your superiority. If Rohrabacher asks a question, you can bet your a$$ he’s asking it for MANY others, whether you think it’s silly or not.
I’ve rarely seen opinions as ill-considered as yours outside the religion forum.
I won’t bother to refute your opinion on a point by point basis as I seriously doubt it would make a dent in your already myopic view. Suffice to say, Obama drained the troops to a level that was UNIVERSALLY denounced by military experts, AND he did so loudly announcing to the enemies WHEN he was going to do so. Obviously, they knew from his announcement exactly how long they had to prepare, and exactly how long they had to wait before going about making a WASTE of all the blood and treasure that was spent on that country.
Further, I do agree the unpopularity of the Bush administration was it’s own fault, but ONLY because it refused to answer it’s critics in the media. We got Obama because the Bush administration refused to fight the Maumau campaign waged against it by the MSM.
Obviously, many of the American people understood this as the very next Republican (Trump) that refused to play by their rules, won.
So best keep to your day job. Political analysis is DEFINATELY not your forte’.
They may tear down others beliefs. They may ridicule.
With almost twenty years of FReeping under my belt I don't need advice from you. How is it "tearing down ones beliefs" to continually harangue other posters about what they DO NOT believe, particularly after the matter has been clarified ad nauseum.
Furthermore, engaging in criticism of things like "The Real Presence" is perfectly fine, but accusing one who believes that doctrine of being a "cannibal" IS a personal attack regardless of what rule it's cloaked under.
The Catholic bashes on the religion forum are well aware of your point.
This is just typical of the hypocrisy endemic to this religion forum as “mind reading” (by definition, as Catholics have repeatedly clarified the Church’s position) is specifically prohibited, yet allowed for the bashers.
Further, how this kind of provocation is NOT considered a “personal attack” as all Catholics on this forum are persons, just goes to show the situation you’re dealing with.
I will always remember the monograph my wife had me review for her when she was in j-school. It was written by a Colombia journalism professor about the legitimacy of letting your personal opinion influence your writing of hard news.
She wanted me to read it to see if she was really getting the gist of what this guy was trying to say.
My assessment, which agreed with hers, was that he was advocating for allowing your personal opinion to influence your reporting as long as you REEEEALLY agonize over it before you do.
I have come to the obvious conclusion that people on the Left really, truly, honestly and with all their hearts and minds believe that if you really, really, really want something to be true despite clear evidence to the contrary; that if you just say and write your distortion of reality often enough, with enough conviction and -- most importantly -- say it loudly enough it will become true! It will become the "new" (and for the Left, the "better") reality.
You're almost there!
The left believes if you can make enough people agree the emperors new clothes are the finest anyone has ever seen, it DOESN'T MATTER if he's actually naked.....
Not at all. I’m using AA as a concrete example of the difference between keeping your sinful ways between you and God, and having to confess them before another person.
I’m always amused when Reformed snark about how Catholics can just sin on Friday, confess on Saturday, and go to Church on Sunday. To which I have to ask “So what do you do after sinning on Friday?”
I’ve been in the house with people who were knocking boots on Friday, and speaking in tongues on Sunday.
My heart really does ache for those people who have to look for the answer in calling themselves “addicted” because they can’t figure out why asking God’s forgiveness and the strength not to fall into their besetting sin yet again, but fall anyway.
The answer is really very simple. When you have to confess your besetting sin to another person over and over again, you will either give up the sin, or you will give up confessing it and thereby knowingly turn away from God’s grace.
Why do we confess to a priest? Because we are told to “confess your sins one to another,” and making that person a priest is the best safeguard for mistakenly confessing your most damaging secrets to the wrong person.
