  • ‘No ma’am’: Letter from U.S. Marine to Dianne Feinstein goes viral

“Man” is generally acknowledged to refer to both men and women when a person is speaking generally.

I understand that many people who did not grow up many decades ago may not be as sensitive to certain forms of expression as those of us who experienced sexual harassment in our youth. And some people may not be aware that their parents inculcated a subtle inclination to resent women more intensely than they resent men who have power over them and to denigrate such women more vociferously than they would a man.

Is there any ruling on the natural born status of a child where one of the parents is not a citizen of the U.S.?

Me thinks he doth protest too much.

Yeah, I think a lot of women stopped and blinked when they read the ‘some woman’ part of the letter.

I agree with gleeaikin that this Marine seems to have an unresolved issue here.

I don’t think that graduate school attracts lefties, I think the screening process leaves lefties in command of the field.

To get to post graduate education you have to run a phalanx of leftie professors who give you lesser grades if you disagree with their leftist social views or Marxist agendas, and then you have to be accepted into a post graduate school and sponsored by a professor in the field you want to get your post graduate degree. Then your dissertation has to pass muster with the professors on the committee that reviews dissertations and pass your ‘orals’.

Looks like it’s probably pretty stacked against conservative leaning students.

Well, Ryan seems to pull off the hat trick of being personable, being interesting, and being conservative. For the first time in a couple of years I've gotten interested in listening to a politician to see what he has to say.

Not all of us seniors want to cannibalize the youth of America. Shaving some of our goodies and maybe even a few years to give them a reasonable start in life is not beyond my sense of duty.

Statistically children get their brains from their mother,

Genetically that doesn't seem to make sense. Perhaps it is really because a white mother is doing the child rearing, nurturing, and not a black mother?

If that sounds racist, I'm sorry; but I am simply curious as a scientist about 1) if this is really true and 2) what the cause really is.

Nominations are in for JustAmy for care package packer of the year.

Our crazy troop supporter had some candy canes left over and so she went out and bought more stuff and packed two more boxes just to have something for “fillers” to send to Kandahar with the candy canes.

    LOL!

Check out her post above, post 643.

Trying to keep up but failing, I tried to rectify a mistake in buying accidentally two boxes of sugar free cocoa mix, and finding they had only 8 envelops per box. So I was 4 short.

So, I bought two more boxes of regular cocoa mix, stuffed them in the already packed other boxes of cocoa, and added another 12 candy canes, snuggled between the little bags of corn nuts. And in the supermarket parking lot I finished packing and then taping up the box.

Mailed December 7, 2011, to FOB Joyce, 1 box 12x12
Box 8, (actually 7, but couldn’t remember sitting in the parking lot without my note pad), insured $71.98, postage $15.25

    Mystery, Alaska (Russell Crowe)

2 boxes 8 no sugar added cocoa mix
    12 peppermint candy canes
    18 bags BBQ corn nuts
1 magazine: Sports Illustrated, sportsman and woman of the year

    ****
740 cocoa and 743 plus candy canes to Kandahar. 116 cocoa and 112 candy canes to adopted unit at FOB Joyce.

Now, we are really finished for the year! (Unless mathluv wants to send a package for New Years.)

You are a wonder! I let them know that you will be mailing an additional 10th packages and to expect it around, perhaps just after, Christmas.

My mother had a theory (a rationalization for her tardy ways) that late mailed packages made it because they passed over the piles of stacked up boxes already mailed.

I’m going to send one more package tomorrow to FOB Joyce with the extra cocoa, but found that I had picked up a couple sugar free boxes instead of the regular cocoa yesterday at the local supermarket. That wouldn’t have been a problem except for some insane reason there are only 8 envelops in a box, and so I’m 4 short...

Your dedication is all that kept me from breaking down and gnashing my teeth and wailing...

    LOL!

With the box I mailed today and the one you just mailed we now have totals of 700 cocoa mix envelops and 713 candy canes on their way to the base near Kandahar.

You have 48 candy canes left, that’s 61 more candy canes than cocoa. If I had my preference I’d say get 6 boxes of cocoa mix to go with the candy canes so they are even and can be passed out together by the chaplain. However, 700 is 100 more than I promised them, so if you want to keep the candy canes and forgo sending more boxes, I say give yourself a break! You did great!

I don’t know what you’re paying but my local supermarket was charging almost $4.00 a box for those rich and dark chocolate brands of cocoa mix. I opted for the store brand at $2.00 a box so I could send them to FOB Joyce and even out the cocoa and candy canes sent there, a total of 100 each to our adopted unit there.

I wiped out WalMart. That was great at $1.29 a box while it lasted.

So, my vote is “put your feet up and pat yourself on the back!”

I have one box left to send out to FOB Joyce, and then I’m going to do the same.

During the housing building boom, contractors around here would often let go an American who was a trained and experienced electrician/plumber/etc. because he would hire on an illegal who underbid the American.

I think some employers were spoiled into thinking that 3rd world pay scale was the norm and thus can’t find anyone willing to train and work for that wage level.

Requesting prayers for Scott who sustained back injury in Iraq carrying wounded to safety (He was a corpsman). His pain meds aren’t doing the job, so we need prayers for God’s healing and His wisdom for Scott’s doctors/surgeons to figure out how to help him.

Blessed Lord, we pray for Thy healing for this courageous and caring man, Scott, who has given a great measure of devotion to help his fellow servicemen. Grant wisdom to his physicians and surgeons so that they may give him the proper care. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen.

Okay, so why do we assume that these are legitimate corporations? How about considering that they are shells conceived and constructed for the sole purpose of bilking the government (tax payers) on behalf of certain politicians or ex-politicians, like Al Gore.

The far lefties have a lot of experience in creating nonprofits and skimming their “salaries” and “bonuses” from these fraudulent entities. They also have a lot of experience in infiltrating and taking over legitimate charities and steering the money flow to their nefarious designs.

Search a carbon trading company to its roots and you find the same old crooks.

Don’t blame real capitalists for this fiasco till someone does a lot of sifting of the origins of these so-called “corporations.”

GWB won in 2000 ONLY because he caved and promised a prescription drug plan. Florida was that close, in case you don’t remember. The Rx plan was the cost of not having Gore on 9/11 and beyond.

And because GWB constructed the Rx plan he put in a lot of free market into the insurance plans, which the Dems would never have done. Thus his plan costs a lot less than the ones the Dems would have passed.

Do I like the reality that democracies end up voting themselves lots of goodies and end up bankrupt or vulnerable to overthrow?

No. Don’t have a solution either, except hope that we hang on long enough for “the people” to realize they are cutting the throat of the goose that lays the golden egg. But I wouldn’t count on it.
