You are a funny person Shibumi. We need more of this type of dark, but common sense humor, with a touch brainstorming hope of trying to solve the problem. I was thinking the same thing only even so far as to have a snorkel for venting and “purifying?” The air hundreds of feet in the air and living like Bubble boy. There’s not a dang thing we can do to avoid this one. My sister just got back from a missionary trip to Swaziland and although it’s on the east coast. She came down SICK (poor Kellsiwells) with “something” and “they” don’t even know what the cause of it is yet, but hey! they let her in anyway! (And being ex Intel; I know my country cares for each and everyone of us and that they would NEVER keep any important knowledge from us that could possibly help save ourselves or others....mmmmm) I’m going to give her a huge bear hug. Maybe go back there to Swaziland myself and help them build something or teach. Life is too short any more to worry about the ramping up of plagues, knowledge increasing, signs & wonders in the heavens and on Earth, nations rising against nation, kingdoms rising against kingdom, men being lovers of themselves rather than lovers of God. You know the lists of signs of the End Times? The only one, well 2 I can think of not yet fulfilled is the 3rd Jewish Temple being rebuilt and the other “men’s hearts failing them in perplexity at the roaring of the oceans and its waves”? Whatever that means...It will be interesting though to witness the world panic when this thing takes off. Heck, it’s amazing it’s been so quiet this long since I last heard of it’s existence 20? something years ago. (Not that I wish EBOLA on anyone but...tongue sliding off of itself?...yuk) I just hope everyone has been working out their own salvation with fear and trembling like we were told to do. It would just infuriate the hell out of a Muslim who when he goes to chop off my head for not denying the Lord, and he goes to hold up my head my tongue slides out and the smile on my face melts into a gelatinous bloody mess all over himself. (Lol) “ Hey, Haadji, hatmohead or mohomeathead or whatever ever you call yourself...getsomonia? Ahhhh allah might be displeased at your “sloppy” workmanship. Actually he can’t hear a damp thing you poor misguided soul”

    See Vanman?
This is what I was talking about. People who think they know everything without all the facts and just gleeful to go on the attack. In those days, before I took a breather from FR, my ID was “Pizarro”. I’m sure if there are records of posts going back to that time-frame you will recognize my writing in those writings. I came down with M.S. in 1999. I closed my FR account, but checked in (as a “civilian”) from time to time to see what was going on. I dropped out of most everything for some years to deal and come to grips with this illness. When I did decide to give FR another chance again and become a supporting member, I opened a new account and named my ID after my art gallery “Rainwaves”...No smoke and mirrors here...watching (yet sad watching the slow disintegration of FR) is not running away... I’m not afraid of a fight, not at all (I’ll even give you my street address if you want to come and kick my ass gleeaikin, if that’s your bag) something some people who “hide” here on FR would never do...Fighting physically or verbally is such a waste of time. I’ve had too much of it in my life.
To those savvy Freepers I know are out there...I challenge you. Find those posts from the mid to latter 90’s and you will see I speak the truth.

No ! Don’t leave “FR” Vanman!
I have been a member? Freeper since 1996-7? It was so great back then. Everybody got their point across. No body viciously attacked another for a differing opinion. And no one was so far out that they would wish any fellow human being any kind of physical or emotional harm (good people)
I don’t know how long ago it was, maybe as soon after as 9/11?, That FR started having different types of “Freepers” coming onto the scene. First colorful...then came the disrupters, and soon after, the contentious (spreading misinformation)...obvious haters of other people/s. The down right evil in my opinion.
I wrote to FR and complained of the way Free Republic had changed over the years for the worst, and that it just wasn’t worth it any more to be a contributor because of wasted time through endless rebukes and exchanges between **sholes, or the vicious personal attacks I saw happening to myself and others, instead of the constructive sharing or the uplifting dialog and discussions we used to have.
No doubt George Soros and his ilk infiltrated FR long ago to sow dissent. FR front office MUST have done something, because seemed to quiet down for a while. But only two? years later, it’s back to the same poison misinformation and one upmanship than before. Vehement, un loving.... unholy.
I still check in every once in a while to see if they’ve gotten back on the right track. Don’t write them off. The Free Republic I remember was like the birth of the revolution. Wonderful people, whom some of them may even be reading this now, that know that Free Republic will always be here. The dark forces will come and go, but the heart of Free Republic is good, and was born in good. So it will survive in the end.
I used to take things so personally, what people wrote. I just let all the negative back and forth go. The vehement quarrels, the mean dissensions...those who are rabid in the head, just let them go....out of my life. I found I can still be a constructive part of it all. You can tell who has a good heart or not, and those of good intentions. Stick and write to THOSE people.
I know there will once again be a time on FR that there will be fun, informative, respectful discussions and debates on the issues of the day, like we had in the good old days of “Really free” Free Republic. Don’t go away Vanman, there are many still here from old, of good intentions, who watch....and weigh in, form time to time, come what may. Take care, R
P.S. by the way... Romney made Mr. O. look like he a deer who got hit by a car and was walking sideways.

I was in a “peace through strength” march for Vets one day. On the other side of the street were anti-war protesters, throwing rocks and sand in our faces, screaming obscenities. They don’t have a clue. Nobody wants war. They are such angry, two faced, hateful, ignorant, hypocrites. To blanket judge all military, or to despise Christians and the bible so, because it tells them what they know is right but don’t want to hear.
In the last days, men’s (and women’s) hearts will be hardened and given over to seducing spirits. They will be haters of good, despise of ANY truth, given over (and running headlong without a flinch) into inordinate affections (Homosexuality, Bestiality, all kinds of Lasciviousness with out self control) For those who are perishing, the Bible is the smell of death & makes them gnash their teeth. They know deep down inside what is right and wrong but won’t admit it or want to hear about it...they just want their cake, eat it too, and reject any consequences of sin as just fantasy..
But to those who are saved, the Bible is the sweet smell of salvation and just bursting with hope. A wonderful, never changing, yet always changing..(a mystery to me) message and guidebook for every situation in life.
If they would only just simply (and honestly in their hearts) believe...and ask God to please come into their lives. It’s really so simple. Jesus died for us ALL, I don’t care what or how heinous your sins may be or have been...but those who flat out reject him are playing with fire (literally)
Jesus said “I am the way the truth and the light, no one can come to the father but through me”...another verse “there is NO other name under heaven by which men may be saved”(The name of Jesus)..or 1 Cor. 6-10 “ Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? DO NOT BE DECEIVED! Neither fornicators, nor Idolaters, nor effeminate, nor HOMOSEXUALS, nor thieves, nor covetousness, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers SHALL INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD”.
God Loves no one person any more or less than any other. For those who would simply believe and not be so quick to judge themselves or others so harshly (and in such ignorance), or for those who try to disprove or reject the Bible or believe and fall into the secular “slanderous and absurd view” of Jesus...THEY are the enemies of Christ.
Paul? said “work out your OWN salvation with fear and trembling” Life is so short and God is not willing that any should perish, but that all would have everlasting life. I fear though that may not be the case for many.
We are ALL sinners. And we will keep on sinning while in these mortal bodies,(but if you are a Christian, you TRY not to) We are STILL going to go to heaven to be with the Lord, where “Eye hasn’t seen, ear hasn’t heard, nor has it come into the hearts or minds of man what God has in store for those who Love him”.
I have many homosexual friends and I grieve for them. I Love and pray for them and am very careful what I say. They never ask me what I think because they probably know what I’ll say because they know I’m a Christian, but they love me anyway because I don’t ever “preach” to them..(unless they ask me something concerning Jesus or the Bible)
Those who don’t or won’t believe can’t bear to hear any kind of truth. Yes TRUTH...absolute truth...those who say that truth is relative are in great peril...
One last thing...I am just as bad a sinner as anyone else, and run headlong sometimes into sin, on purpose! even....But Jesus is so awesome, when I do mess up, he’s ALWAYS there waiting for me with open arms to forgive me when I ask him. I TRY to Love every person on earth. It’s hard, but I try...and I pray. I guess that’s about all a person can do..that and have hope for the future things to come and have faith in the promises of God...and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ..

It just highlights how serious things are getting. If one of those rockets had hit Aqaba do you think Jordan would have taken it lightly? Israel is showing amazing restraint.
On a side note, Mr. Obama hosting the Muslim Brotherhood in D.C. is utterly disgusting. How can it get any clearer what the POTUS REALLY thinks about Israel? I’ll bet anyone my next paycheck Israel will commence it’s campaign on taking out any Iranian threats before the Nov. elections.

Poor Bill Clinton got shafted compared to the things this guy is getting away with. America deserves what it’s going to get if we don’t get our heads out of our asses and make sure this man is not re-elected. I did not know we had as a nation such a self destructive mind set. It’s more clear by the day we are a nation of sheep being led to the slaughter.

I work part time in a fruit & veggy stand in Port Townsend and we get a lot of exotic stuff in. I think Heirlooms were an oddity when they first came in and sure, they tasted good and looked fascinating, but it was hit and miss. Some of them were actually on the tasteless side to me if anything. Also I noticed that they would sometimes be “pithy” on one entire side, while fine on the other.
Don’t get me wrong, some of the large purple or multicolored Beefsteak type Heirlooms were actually outstanding. But nothing can beat any of the West coast farms which produce the large, red, in-season Beefsteak tomato. They are like a meal in themselves, no need for even salt. So dang incredible. Organic or otherwise, major farms or family. I used to grow the Better Boys and Early Girls myself that turned out excellent but was never able to grow a nice Beefsteak for some reason. I just had to respond to this post. I hope YOUR tomatoes turn out great!

Exactly, they need to keep the U.S. out of the picture and in the background to support Israel in other ways. Israel can more than take care of themselves. I worked with the I.D.F. once during the Iran/Iraq war and they had their shit together then and always seeming to be steps ahead of everyone else. I know from their supernatural victories in the 48, Yom Kippur and 6 day wars, that God is most certainly on their side. I wouldn’t believe all the misinformation going around...like..
    A. Has Obama somehow influenced the health Care bill decision by the SCOTUS by his recent press announcements?...no..the SCOTUS will vote the bill unconstitutional and it will go down in flames, therefore shining the light on how Obama wasted two years when he should have been preempting a lot of bullshit.
    B. Israel knew they couldn’t trust Obama a while ago so they are going to do what they need to do exactly when they need to do it. How Vain Obama is..to think he can influence or have the Gaul to take political advantage of an age old blood and spirit feud between the Israeli’s and those who hate & seek their destruction.
    C. Israel can wipe out most, if not all Iranian threats completely on their own with minimum casualties. They are more worried about what is going to happen in the world afterwards. If and when Nuclear weapons are used, all bets will be off for a sane world.

    Rainwave to SuzyQue

Yes, you are so right..very frustrating, I’m with you SusyQue.
Again to all skeptics and naysayers...God does not make mistakes. The King James version has been the rock basis for complete scripture and inspiration for centuries now. It was commissioned “by God, through the Holy Spirit” so that the word could be read and understood by all people in clear and poetic verse, being excruciatingly faithful to the oldest and most accepted manuscripts and Gospels. The Catholics Love pomp and circumstance and talk of venerating saints. A couple of extra ancient texts that may or may not have been inspired scripture is ok with them, as it makes for interesting reading and reflection. Not to say those books are not true or have any value to them, but for some reason with all their detailed solemn masses, God may have wanted to break away from the constraining structure of the Catholic church and bring men and women closer to him through a Bible that had no more or no less teaching than what mankind needed for a more personal way of study, belief and worship. A.K.A. The King James Version. I’m not saying the Catholic church is in the wrong in any way. Some people Love the quiet, meditative and long practiced Latin Mass...The books of the Apocrypha make for interesting reading, as do some of the other “Lost books of the Bible”. The New International Version, the New American Standard versions and a few select others are accurate translations for a modern world, but I still find myself quoting scripture from time to time in the language of the old King James.
What worries me more than the addition or omission of the Apocrypha and or other books, is the blatant “Re-translation” of accepted scripture to fit political correctness. Changing the meaning of verses completely or adding or subtracting words to fit their own self interests or lifestyle scares me more than any “conspiracy” surrounding the Apocrypha.

  • Ben & Jerry's issues pro-gay marriage flavor

    Rainwave to mnehring

I had a gay friend who was kind of like that, he was actually a Republican and never brought up the issue of his sexuality or talked about it so it never bothered the rest of us & we all respected him for it. Although I vehemently am against it as an “abomination”, and there are only a few sins in the Bible that are an abomination to God so I know it’s pretty bad conduct in God’s eyes. Let alone flaunting your sexual preferences out in public, or publicly getting “married” to another of the same sex? (puke) How is that not throwing it in our faces? The “Don’t ask don’t tell” policy was working fine. Obama has opened a can of maggots. The “Everything Pink” going overboard for Breast cancer awareness is one thing, but labels on our food and drink promoting a perverted lifestyle? I’m glad my friend never asked me how I really felt about his being gay. He knew I was a Christian, and probably knew he wouldn’t like what I had to say about it.
It IS a perverted lifestyle, it IS a choice. People are NOT born that way (well, at least 999.9% of the time, except in the case of transvestism...which I still can’t figure out) If homosexuality WAS an “involuntary” desire then you’d have people marrying chimpanzees or cows, or their own children?
All of us, as a people “exercise” the direction in which our sexuality goes by what we dwell upon, by those images in our minds that turn us on. Thankfully God DID put it in man’s genes and character to be attracted (99.9% of the time) to women...Can you imagine a world in which women are so scarce because the general population has turned to such perverse endeavors that any “Family” type structure in the world would be rare or even exist anymore?.
It’s hard to quash and not dwell on taboo temptations that we ALL have from time to time because we are all tempted by anything the mind can visualize...or by what is put there. We choose how much or how little time our minds spend focusing on things that tempt us whether it’s the lust of sex, the greed for wealth, or the hatred or envy of others, whatever the obsessive force. WE can change the subject! in our minds.
It seemed that this “Gay marriage” agenda was being promoted big time on my college campus as early as the mid? to late 80’s, when seeing a report on TV about this issue, I wrote an essay on “Why homosexuals should not marry”. I flunked my English class and was quite p*ssed off because I had been to every class and thought the essay was pretty good, until I confronted the teacher and he wouldn’t look me in the eye, and was very angry with me, yelling at me (He did not give any explanation for my getting an F whatsoever)...I found out later he was gay. I honestly had no idea.
That was my first encounter with a gay “Activist”, who are a far cry from those people who lead quiet lives, keep their own sexual escapades to themselves, and seem to have no problem respecting other peoples and beliefs...It only takes a few anarchists or activists to stir things up in this world today. They know how to push the right collective “buttons” of the American people to force them to respond to or shine the light on any number of social or societal issues.

I agree whole heartily, I have had friends who were Mormons in the past, wonderful people with a unique family life on the exterior, but with some, you get the sense they are keeping a secret from you or they know something you don’t. It’s not a smugness...It’s like some “aura” hanging about? I once had a friend who was a church elder, but worked with me on subs. They don’t drink, of course, but because we had had a close call that day, meaning one or more of us almost died, we were all hyped up, just him and I & he decided (on his own, no arm twisting.)to have a beer with me to calm our nerves. After one, he was already talking...I did not take advantage of this situation, but have always been interested in what the Mormons REALLY think. So I asked curious questions in a nice way..He said that “God has a wife”..this blew me away..He said “Of course he does! and that “She was the most beautiful woman in heaven”, and that “They made love like everyone else in heaven did” I always thought that “Neither is there marriage, nor was anyone given in marriage in heaven”. He talked about of not only becoming an offspring of god, or “little” gods, I thought that very strange but kept quiet/er and he was saying something about all of us having our own universes and our own planets and some of the same kinds of powers that “god” has, WE will have someday (wt*?). Buy now we were on our third beer and he was plastered. He was talking about the meanings of each of the strange symbols their church sews into little girl’s underwear. I found this really weird & He must have realized he was saying things he shouldn’t be & talking to “non-believers” about. We drifted off into non-conversation & soon after decided to turn in for the night. I helped him back to the ship we were staying on. It never again came up in conversations in the future. Like I said, He was, and always will be my friend.. I looked up The “Book of Mormon” and “Peal of Great Price” (SP?). When I began reading their “scripture”, I found it caught you and flowed like the Bible in many places describing How the Lost tribes of Israel came to be in the new world and the angel Moroni and all of his adventures, the gold plates @ the hill in Cumara. But looking back, it felt more like reading a good Clive Cussler novel. I never took it for divine scripture, but whomever(or whatever?) wrote them did a great job in describing the mechanics and concepts of the religion. Like reading a great novel..writing with such authority and fantastical ideas of how things could have been in the years after Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection.

I spent some time there in 1996 while my brother was in the Peace Corps. The black market was the “other’ store just around the corner, right out in the open. Selling everything from American cigarettes and under arm deodorant to hashish and switchblades and sometimes even offered the services of their “daughters”. People waited in very long lines with twighlight zone like patience to get a stamp at the post office, only to have the window slammed in their face just as their turn came up, and passively walking away with a glazed acceptance of the “system”. The political corruption was visible in all areas of public life. The restaurants where cold war hit men would spill a beer over your table if you even mentioned politics. The same thugs (more like mercenary’s) looking for any signs of dissent or opposition during staged political rally’s. How they would push one persons name with Orwellian tactics and beat the shit out of any man OR woman who might voice any opposition or public proclamation for another candidate. It was like a real life Scorsese film. The people were so wonderful and kind but would shut right up when large men appeared out of no where acting like they were part of out group. I felt so sorry for those people then. I hope things have changed for the better because I never met such kind, generous, intelligent and inventive people in all of Europe than those in the Slovak Republic. It’s sad to see the suppression of free speech & thought of an artistic, passionate and intelligent people happen right before your eyes. No wonder “Pivo” bars were so popular from breakfast until? Thank God we never had to venture out after dark. The movie “Hostel” keeps coming to mind.

I’ve chipped in on the FR fundraising effort as I wish everyone would, but what I really wanted to say, was that maybe 35+? years ago, I was one of the “groundbreaking” members of the Crystal Cathedral. At first, Reverend Shuller had a nice, clear message of the Gospel of Christ. He was very popular and DID inspire and give hope to many people in the early days of his televangelism, But some years down the road, he drifted into “new age-ism” and started delivering “feel good sermons” with rarely any biblical content, except once in a while throwing in the name of Jesus. Probably not wanting to offend anyone of other faiths?
He is now linked with other prominent “mainstream” ministers and pastors who have started an outreach to Muslim people, and branding that kind of outreach as “Chrislam” meaning “We are all in this together” and “we all worship the same god” (not) so... “Can’t we all just get along?”. It makes me want to puke. They are totally falling into the trap of the end times in which preachers will take heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons and deliver sermons which would tickle the ears of the congregations. It’s not my place to judge peoples of other faiths, I do not know what God has in store for them. It says in the Bible that “God is not willing that ANY should perish, but that all have everlasting life.”
I only know that for ME, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light. NO one can come to the father but through him. JESUS IS Lord. There is no other name under heaven by which men can be saved. So in my humble but fundamentalist, “The Bible is the LIVING word of God” opinion, Robert Shuller, Rick Warren and the others are falling right into the Anti-Christ’s hands and wittingly or unwittingly helping to set up the coming “One world religion”. I would send my Crystal Cathedral “groundbreaking” shovel in if I could find it. I’m not without sin, (by a long shot) so I can not cast a stone that I wish would shatter the Crystal Cathedral.

Not only Nostradamus, but several Popes going back centuries including the recently departed Pope John Paul, said that the next Pope in line after our current Pope will be in league with the Anti-Christ...that may be why Nostradamus said our current one would be the last Pope...the last “real” Pope. The next one will be a false prophet, probably heading up or organizing a one world religion for the Anti-Christ. Time is short...”Let every person work out their own salvation in fear and trembling”...Can’t remember what verse, but it’s just one of many that come to mind about the last days. It’s something we should all give great thought to because when we die we are all by ourselves before God and must give an account for our lives. Whether we believe in him or not. Some people are going to have one hell of a rude awakening. I hope I’m not one of them.

I’ve been with and loved Free Republic and all freepers from the beginning, And I think Drudge too. Matt Drudge was THE the sources of raw, unblemished media intelligence (for some of us) for many years after he broke the Monica Lewinsky story....then everyone would be hanging out on Free Republic and shooting back and forth about all the great stories of that day, many of them having been funneled first through the Drudge Report..
Until I saw this post I thought ..” I’m NOT going crazy, some others are thinking the same way I am”. There have been just TOO many bone headed presentations on the Drudge report for a while now that have gone against my gut instincts.
It seems like Matt has not been as “hands-on” of his site as he used to be. I’ll still go there to check things out, but I’ll be wary and stay alert, because things have seemed “off” a bit lately, not only with the Drudge Report but with other formerly trusted sites as well.
I hope Matt returns to his roots, but commercialism and success may have gotten to him and dulled his quick wit and integrity.

I always mention Jerusalem and the people of Israel in my prayers...It’s so important, and even more so than I think we can understand, that’s why it’s a peculiar and kind of urgent on-going request. People ask me why I pray for the peace of Jerusalem? Not only do I wish the “cup of trembling” be lessened in these “Last days”, but it really gives me a great starting point to discuss the history of that area of the world with people who don’t know a thing about it.
And, it’s God’s Holy city, the one he married. (Spiritually) the one he’s going to return to when he lands on the mount of Olives and walks through the Golden Gate into the Temple Mount. Maranatha! (Lord come quickly)
But I can also see why the delay, God is not willing that ANY should perish (and who’s to argue with God?!) well, I guess a few did? like Abraham..did’nt Jonah?, Moses and Jacob? (I may be wrong on that)...I just think it would be cool for EVERYONE to go to heaven someday, and I mean even the worst of souls, but it may not be that way, I don’t know what God has planned for us, but it’s going to be pretty darned wonderful. Eternity is an awful long time and God has more mercy and love than we can fathom.

My dream ticket was always Palin/Bachman (talk about (”pilf’s”). I’ts not be too late for them to jump in as a package deal..But the American people are so enraged right now @ the Left & the demon possessed media that any “dirt”, no matter how bad..unless Newt killed someone, will be seen as bullsh*t for the most part by even the dumbest of the electorate. If Newt does not buckle under, like Cain did, to the billion dollar smear machine, he will clean Obama’s clock in the debates.
My guess is if it ever gets that far, the “O” man will not agree to the long “Lincoln/Douglass” style debates that Newt proposes. Obama can’t afford to have any light shone onto his falsehoods and dark deceptions, to be so starkly set against the clear straight truth, honor and intelligence coming from Newt’s speech and demeanor.
We ALL have dirt in our closets. That’s the human condition, but I think Newt is one of the only person/s who could actually turn this mess around. He can do it if he gets past this “Pelosi bomb” and the other stuff that will come.
I know it’s only a short time until the caucuses, but people have said “yes” after they’ve said “no” before and it was not held too badly against them. Christie, Palin, Rubio, even the Donald could still all get together & do some brainstormin’ to save this country.

No. 2 The cult of personality does not too soon reject their own messiahs or figure heads...(Gore is still a god to them) The world still loves Obama..he may yet someday be the president of the IMF, E.U. or some other international body. But time will clear things up. maybe not in our lifetimes, but he will eventually be looked upon as a vainglorious, inept, corrupt, flat out hard headed dim wit in his dealings with congress, the rule of law, the American people and his handling of international events. Jimmy Carter will look like a saint someday compared to him...and it won't surprise me if someday we find out he was NOT born in the U.S.A.

I’ve had many wonderful Mormon friends in my life, but one time, at the end of a hard day working on a sub in Canada, I got my buddy “Ron” who was a Mormon to have a couple beers with me, which was probably the first time he ever drank?. He started talking about God having a wife in heaven and having sex in front of all the saints....then rambling on and obsessing about the purpose and wonder of magic symbols on little girls underwear?!?...and other very strange things I’d never heard before. When the “Book of Mormon” and “A Pearl of great price” take precedence over, or become equal to the Holy Bible, that’s where they really go off track. The last verse in the Bible warns about adding or subtracting from scripture. other verses state that the Bible as we know it is complete is exactly how God wanted it to be, working through men, guided by the Holy Spirit..(wheather we wanted more or less is of no consequence) “All Scripture is good and profitable for exhortation, teaching and rebuke”. “Not one jot or tittle of the law will pass away” Jesus said “ Heaven and earth shall pass away but my word will remain forever”. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God” (the trinity)..”Many false christs and teachers will come in my name, proclaiming another gospel” and “some teaching doctrines of demons”...Paul?. The book of Mormon is fascinating reading though if you like fantasy and adventure, the exploits of the angel Moroni and the lost tribes of Israel coming to the new world and becoming the ancient Maya’s and Aztecs and other cultures..)Everyone thinks THEIR way is the RIGHT way. “God is not a respecter of persons”. He loves everyone equally. In the end each one of us must “ Work out our OWN salvation with fear and trembling” and not be intimidated by “arm twisting” by any religious groups or beholden to any person/s telling you what you MUST or must not do. Search for yourself. Read and learn about other religions too, but give the Bible a chance. Don’t let anyone tell you what it says or what people may have told you about it in the past. You are so right, Glen has always come across as genuinely concerned for ALL his fellow man. Sure, sometimes his passion of his faith glimpses through into his dialog, but he has never pushed it on anybody. I didn’t even know he was Mormon for the longest time. He had at times hinted he was a Christian, but I did not know what denomination or offshoot. The first hint of it, to me, was when he started talking about preparing and stocking up on food & water (which is a good idea no matter what your beliefs may be)
I have friends of many different faiths. The secret to us all getting along is when we try to be courteous and understanding of every other person on this earth regardless of their faith or upbringing. Peace and kindness will most often follow. It’s when malice, hate and “evil intent” brings confrontation (not honest debate) into social discourse that leads us off the issues and into distracting, almost calculated wastes of time.
And time now is short now is short, when all constructive honesty is need in discussing the important issues of the day.

How they took worthless mosquito infested swamplands and turned them into a garden paradise? Or of the story of the Exodus? The refusal by the “Palestinians” to accept their own country offered to them at the same time of Israel’s rebirth, And then who cowardly fled as all surrounding Arab nations went to war with Israel the day after they were declared a nation? How under the most certainly spiritual circumstances of God helping them during the 1967 6 day war, and then again during the 1973 Yom Kippur war?
I know God will always protect Israel, or a remnant thereof, but our President just slit our throats as a nation. The evidence is so overwhelming, he is definitely NOT on the side of the American people. He lit THE fuse today. He has no one to blame but himself when he sees the world snowball into armageddon.
