I was the good guy with a gun. In 2008 I returned from a delivery to find a guy pointing a knife at my 18 year old manager. He accepted my invitation to vacate the premises.
He is now in prison for 67 years. The girl is now 23, and I get free hugs whenever I see her. I don't want to look over the front sight at another person again, but if I have to, I know I can.
Seriesly, I'm thinking about getting more involved. I'm friends with State Rep. Brian DelGrosso, over in Loveland, and also local talk show host Amy Oliver, who's married to Weld County Sheriff John Cooke.
Look up ‘Paul Gomez’ on YouTube. I think your first video is a hoax, but the second, racking the slide on the belt by the sight, is a legitimate one-hand technique.
Too bad about Cosby. My brother-in-law met him in NYC. Said he was a nice guy.
Anyway, a couple of videos:
Ursalina. A Cosby composition, with one of my favourite players, David Murray on tenor, the late Sonny Sharrock on guitar, the late Don Pullen on piano, Mark Egan on bass, and Al Foster on drums.
The guy was a concert pianist. Lost a hand in the war. Wanted to die, but Charles got him some one-hand Piano music. I think it was Ravel, who wrote for a friend after WWI.
Pretty girl. I came damn close to losing my left hand and arm a couple of years ago. Still have it, but it doesn’t work very well. No more saxoffoning, though...
Randolph Mantooth and Kevin Tighe couldn't get gigs for a couple of years after 'Emergency!' ended, because agents thought they were actually paramedics, not actors.
That would be a good one to reboot, with today's positive attitude toward first responders. I'd say find a couple of 30 year old unknowns for the paramedics, and maybe a few better known names in the hospital.
There's a girl named Amelia Earhart who does traffic and weather on 9News in Denver. A distant relative of the original Amelia Earhart and also a pilot.
