Social media users trashed Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, after she turned her gaffe about the moon being "made of gases" into a slam of Republicans on social media Tuesday. Reacting to the backlash she received for telling school children that the moon is made of gases ahead of Monday’s eclipse, the lawmaker said that her Republican critics are hounding her because they have a "lust for stupidity." She gave a speech at Booker T. Washington High School in Houston on the day of the eclipse, telling an assembly of students, "Sometimes, you need to take the opportunity just to...

Supporters of Donald Trump went on the defensive Sunday over his latest inflammatory comments, in which he said at a campaign rally there would be a “bloodbath” if he loses the November presidential election. Fischer: Last year the University of Nebraska at Lincoln campus conducted a first of its kind crash test of an electric pickup truck to study whether current Highway guard rails adequately protect against the growing number of those heavy EVS that are on our roads. At 60 miles per hour the 7,000 lb electric truck tore through the barrier without offering any protection to the traveling public or reduction in speed. I've recently heard from First Responders that are also concerned about responding to electric vehicle fires. 40% of firefighters have never had EV fire safety training and I've heard...

Ex-CNN reporter John Harwood gushes over sharply partisan address: Biden critics 'look pretty dumb' Liberal-leaning journalists and media personalities gave President Biden's State of the Union speech high praise, with some claiming that it made his detractors look foolish for voicing concerns over his age. Former CNN journalist John Harwood, known as one of the most sycophantic Biden White House boosters in the media, mocked the president's critics for saying they were worried about his vitality. "[T]hose Dems complaining that Biden lacks vigor and fight getting splash of cold water in the face right now," he wrote, later adding that...

The rates of Americans behind on auto loan and credit card bills continue to rise — in fact, both are at the highest levels in more than 10 years. Rising delinquencies indicate that more people are in financial distress. When auto loan or credit card payments are missed, consumers dig themselves deeper into debt and see major drops in their credit scores, so it’s usually an outcome people try to absolutely avoid.

One of the most common tendencies of human nature is that of placing responsibility on some external agency for sins we have commited or mistakes we have made. We are forever attempting to find some scapegoat on which we cast responsibility for our actions. ... And so modern man was convinced that psychology had given him explanations which relieved him of any responsibility for his actions. ... We are all familiar with the most common agencies on which we project responsibility for our actions. First we turn to environment. How easy it is for one to affirm that one's whole...

A new study found that fueling electric vehicles costs roughly $17 per gallon. In its paper "Overcharged Expectations: Unmasking the True Costs of Electric Vehicles," the Texas Public Policy Foundation stipulated that the hidden costs of fueling EVs drastically outweigh its low upfront fueling costs. The hidden costs come from an increased burden on the energy grid exerted by charging stations, and an enormous amount of federal subsidies. ... "Federal policy is also pushing EVs over hybrid vehicles, even though hybrids offer a far more efficient way to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions," it reads. "They use a much...

A new Emerson College poll out on Friday shows Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear and Attorney General Daniel Cameron in a dead heat less than a week before the Kentucky gubernatorial election — both polling at 47%. The results are a shift for Beshear, who has had a significant lead in almost all polling leading up to the election. Earlier in October, he was polling at 49% in the same poll as Cameron sat at 33%, and 13% of respondents would rather vote for someone else.

Black Voters Matter Action PAC claims Kentucky Attorney General and Republican nominee for governor Daniel Cameron is "a threat to the Black community." A far-left group being funded by liberal billionaire George Soros is targeting Kentucky Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Daniel Cameron, a Black Republican, with an ad disparaging him as an Uncle Tom. Black Voters Matter Action PAC, which FEC filings show received millions from Soros' super-PAC, has been running the radio ad on a local R&B station based in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, describing Cameron as "Uncle Daniel Cameron," and accusing him of betraying his race by declaring "all...

FRANKFORT, Ky. (KT) – Gov. Andy Beshear took to social media on Friday to respond to news reports that production at one of two electric vehicle (EV) battery plants planned for Hardin County has been delayed because of concerns about demand. The plants are being built by BlueOval SK, a joint venture between Ford Motor Co. and South Korean partner SK Innovation. “First, the full project is still on. Construction is continuing on both of those battery plants,” said Beshear in a video posted on social media. “The two biggest battery plants on planet Earth and all of the hundreds...

John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist church, wrote, " What one generation tolerates, the next generation will embrace." Wesley could have never imagined how much the church he founded would not just be tolerating but embracing in 2023. Thankfully, some members of the Methodist church have decided to take a stand. According to the Christian Post, Christ United Methodist Church of Jackson, one of the largest United Methodist Church bodies in Mississippi, voted overwhelmingly on Sunday to disaffiliate from the UMC Mississippi Conference. The congregation plans to change its name to "Christ United - Jackson" on Jan. 1, 2024....

Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear and Republican Attorney General Daniel Cameron accused each other of taking extreme stands on abortion policy Monday night as they wrangled over an issue that's become a flashpoint in their hotly contested campaign for governor in Kentucky. During an hourlong debate at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky, the rivals fielded questions over education, taxes, public safety and the monthlong strike by autoworkers, which has spread to Ford's highly profitable Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville. The candidates tried to one-up the other in their support for public education. Some of their sharpest exchanges during the...

All eyes are on Gov. Andy Beshear’s re-election bid against GOP challenger Attorney General Daniel Cameron. A lot of the state’s money is on it, too. Beshear’s campaign dwarfs Cameron’s in total cash brought in and on hand, the 60 day pre-general election reports show. The governor has brought in roughly $15 million into his general election campaign since the primary ended in mid-May compared to Cameron’s $2.8 million.

Gov. Andy Beshear's (D-KY) latest campaign ad attacked Republican candidate Daniel Cameron for opposing rape and incest exceptions to Kentucky's abortion bans seven weeks before the 2023 gubernatorial election. Beshear released a TV ad Wednesday featuring a young woman who is a survivor of sexual assault, stating she was raped by her stepfather at 12 years old after years of sexual abuse. The woman criticizes Cameron’s abortion stance, claiming he wouldn't give women and girls any options.

Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear began airing a new ad last week attacking GOP challenger Daniel Cameron for supporting Kentucky’s near-total ban on abortion. It’s a change in strategy for the incumbent, and many Democratic politicians in the South, who have avoided going on the offensive over abortion rights. Over his political career, Beshear has rarely gone out of his way to criticize political opponents for restricting access to abortion, usually sticking to broad statements and advocating for a middle ground. “I believe that Roe v. Wade had it generally right,” Beshear said last year after the U.S. Supreme Court undermined...
