  • NFL Players and the National Anthem

I know this probably wont have any real effect on the NFL players who decide to not stand for the National Anthem, but I would like a list of all players who don't stand. My reason is pretty simple....I don't want any of them on my Fantasy Football team. I sent an email to my league asking them to tell me if any of my players fail to stand so that I can drop them. I realize that this thing is gaining some momentum and some great players may join in. It's easy for some people to say, "punish them",...
  • Is Islam "Mystery Babylon" of End Times?

Who is the Scarlet Whore who sits on the Beast First we should consider what it means that the Whore sits on the beast. Walid Shoebat reasons by interpreting mountains as nations / empires and not as hills, the seventh beast empire was Islamic ending with the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1922AD. Revelation 13 claims that the “head” will be revived. That is, the Islamic empire will be rejuvenated coming from the same persecuting empires that preceded it, but NOT including Rome. This is a clear indication that the eighth beast empire will be Islamic, NOT Roman. We...
  • Military pay would stop with a government shutdown

According to draft guidance circulating around the Defense Department, military personnel would be required to work without pay if the government shuts down, reports the Air Force Times. That differs from the 1995 shutdown when U.S. troops reported to work and were paid, the article states. But the 13-page contingency plan, in which DOD highlighted which parts of the military would continue to operate if the government shuts down, states that this time the military would miss a payday if a shutdown continued through April 1.
  • Great family/teen movie

I just saw this movie with my teenage son and found it very pertinant to stresses faced by teenagers today. The story line and acting is very well done and I highly recommend it for families with teens and preteens.
  • Son in the Army now.

My oldest son left last week for the Army. He is currently at Fort Benning waiting in the "receiving" barracks. His Boot Camp Company (I'm not sure if that's what the Army calls it...I'm exNavy) forms up and starts actual Basic this next Friday. We've gotten a call from him the other night. Other than being tired and anxious for actual training to start, he sounded like he was doing fine. This is new territory for me and my wife. I don't feel old enough to have a child in the military. We are planning on going out to his...
  • HELL: Eternal Torment or Complete Annihilation?

INTRODUCTION— I grew up in the church. For many years, I believed in the traditional view of Heaven and Hell—that souls are taken from the body immediately following death and are placed in either Heaven or Hell where they will spend eternity in bliss or unending torture. This is what most of the Christian church right now believes. For the last six or seven years, however, I have found countless scriptures that have changed my thinking considerably in this area. It seems to me that nearly the entire Bible teaches that eternal life is only experienced in Heaven, that Hell...
  • Obama coming to Wisconsin, stirs up local libs

An article in a local Wisconsin newspaper brings out the liberal moonbats. What is interesting is that La Crosse is in the middle of it's big October Fest celebrations. It'll be interesting to see where he holds his rally and how many people will appreciate him "crashing the party" with politics. I posted this story because I thought it might be fun to see the remarks section of the Obama story Freeped. La Crosse doesn't have alot of vocal conservatives, so the blogger sections of stories are usually dominated by local libs.

Arcadia rejects immigration proposals The city of Arcadia, Wis., will not pursue a plan to crack down on illegal immigrants and make English the official language. The city’s attorney announced Friday that the city council has backed away from Mayor John Kimmel’s proposed ordinances targeting immigration issues, citing the potential for lawsuits. Kimmel had proposed five ordinances that would: alert federal agents to complaints of undocumented workers; make English the official language of Arcadia; forbid any other nation’s flag from display without an American flag alongside; and ensure all signs and city documents be printed only in English. In August,...

Trying to stay alert, curious to see how many other "late-nighters" are surfing. Send a Ping to "log in." I'm curious to see how many of us graveyard shifters and night owls are surfing this late. As a side note it is 0141 (1:41) where I am at. Sincerely
  • Are Christians required to tithe?

Should Christians tithe? Recently, I was asked about tithing. Being like most Americans, I don’t tithe regularly. It’s not that I think I shouldn’t, it has more to do with my current debt. I’ve always felt that tithing would be a great thing to be able to do, but sadly, I have never been able to do it on a consistent basis. So, I decided to do a more thorough Biblical study on tithing, so that I could give an answer consistent with what God wants. What I discovered surprised me, so I decided to post what I found to...
  • How do you survive a male mid-life crisis? (Vanity)

Midlife Conundrum How does it happen? You marry your High School sweetheart, get a dependable job, do all the “right things”, and you still get a nagging feeling that something about you is dieing? I shouldn’t feel this way. I am blessed beyond what I deserve. I have smart, beautiful, healthy kids. I have a wife that loves me. I am a respected member of my community, and yet I feel in a rut. Two thoughts come to mind….First one is call the “Whaaaambulance”, suck it up, and quit whining. Problem with that is that the "dieing in a rut"...
  • Does everyone have to get flu shots?

I know that if you work in a hospital or have immune problems, that a flu shot is recommended. However, I have a gut feeling it is becomeing America's "feel-good" asprin. My wife and I had a discussion on getting flu shots for the kids. I am against it. Our kids are healthy, and don't need to be poked unnecessarily. A few years ago, only the elderly and those with immune problems got them, now you're looked at weird if you don't get one. I personally try to minimize my dependence on medication on the belief that my immune system...
  • Can the Bible be enough for spirtual truth?

    10/21/2005 12:19:22 PM PDT · by ScubieNuc · 151 replies · 1,716+ views
Is the Bible Alone Sufficient for Spiritual Truth? According to Roman Catholicism, Sacred Tradition and the Bible together provide the foundation of spiritual truth. From this combination the Catholic church has produced many doctrines which it says are true and biblical. Protestantism, however, rejects Roman Catholic Sacred Tradition and holds fast to the call "Sola Scriptura," or, "Scripture Alone." Catholics then challenge, "Is Sola Scriptura biblical?" The Bible does not say "Do not use tradition" or "Scripture alone is sufficient." But the Bible does not say "The Trinity is three persons in one God," either, yet it is a fundamental...
  • House passes "hate crimes" legislation

U.S. House Passes "Hate Crimes" Legislation Thursday, September 15, 2005 By Sam Kastensmidt On September 14, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 223-199 to pass "hate crimes" legislation, which would offer special protections under the law to people because of their sexual orientation or perceived gender identity. Making Second-Class Citizens Out of Heterosexuals If passed by the Senate and signed by the President, this measure would use resources of the U.S. Justice Department to investigate and prosecute violent crimes against gays, lesbians, transvestites, and transsexuals. Essentially, this new law subverts "equal justice under the law." When an 80-year-old grandmother is...
