South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) is looking to prevent President Biden’s proposed "door-to-door" coronavirus vaccination campaign. McMaster wrote a letter to the state’s Board of Health and Environmental Control, asking it to “issue direction to agency leadership and to state and local healthcare organizations prohibiting the use of the Biden Administration’s 'targeted' 'door to door' tactics in the State’s ongoing vaccination efforts.” He argued that “enticing, coercing, intimidating, mandating, or pressuring” people to get their shots will deteriorate public trust in the state’s vaccination efforts.

Thousands of bikers heading to South Dakota’s 10-day Sturgis Motorcycle Rally will not be allowed through Cheyenne River Sioux checkpoints, a spokesman for the Native American group said on Saturday. The decision to prevent access across tribal lands to the annual rally, which could attract as many as 250,000 bikers amid fears it could lead to a massive, regional coronavirus outbreak, comes as part of larger Covid-19 prevention policy. The policy has pitted seven tribes that make up the Great Sioux Nation against federal and state authorities, which both claim the checkpoints are illegal.

A man drove into a Seattle crowd protesting the death in police custody of George Floyd before shooting one of the demonstrators on Sunday, police said. The suspect was detained and the 27-year-old man who was shot in the arm was taken to hospital by firefighters, police said in a tweet. Officials did not name the shooter or the victim. An amendment in the Interior Appropriations bill will protect hunting opportunities at West Virginia’s New River Gorge National River, which was under attack by the national anti-hunting group the Fund for Animals.   The Fund had requested that the National Park Service (NPS) discontinue hunting and threatened litigation if the NPS failed to act.  The amendment to HR 2691 requires that hunting continue at the New River Gorge until or unless the National Park Service issues regulations to the contrary.   The House of Representatives approved the bill October 30 by a vote of 216 to 205.  It now awaits...
