  • Many Teen Workers Are Going Jobless This Summer

I’m with the others on this one. A law degree is nothing but a license to steal. The last thing this country needs is more scumbag lawyers. These young people need to stop watching all these stupid law soap operas and then thinking they need to be an attorney. I have far more respect for someone who flips burgers for a living than gets a law degree.

"I was referring to California, and you're probably right about the title. I was using simple descriptive terms instead of actual titles."

That's cool. I was just pointing that out because most of the Corrections Officers I work with get highly offended when someone refers to them as a "Guard", which is why I jokingly refer to them as that all the time. Lol.

Sadly this type of stupid, idiotic, and sometimes even dangerous behavior is pretty routine at many prisons. I work at the Nebraska State Pen and it's scary some of the people that come in wearing uniform are worse then many of the inmates.

"Guard Union - Different than Police Union."

Not always. Depends on the state. And I presume you mean Corrections Officer union, I've never heard of a "Guard Union".

"Oh, gross, is that really true in the prisons there? Sounds like California."

Sadly it is true. Nebraska runs one of the softest prison systems in the country. Inmates and staff alike say it isn't a prison its a "day camp". I've heard stories that there has been offenders who have came to Nebraska to commit their crimes because if they happen to get caught they wanted to do their time here.

"Hang the SOB.....but since it's Lincoln, some bleeding heart slug will find a way to justify what Seims did to that boy. But I still say string him up to a cottonwood."

You got that! I live here in Lincoln NE and this city and state as a whole have gotten horribly liberal. I work here in a state prison so To make matters worse in this case, I can tell you sex offenders AREN'T really looked down upon in our prison system. And if this young sicko ever even feels the slightest bit threatened he can check right into protective custody any time he feels like. For his crime He will be sentenced to a few years of stamp club, hobby club, sports, arts and rec, TV, free health care and medications, free meals, dog handling programs, tennis courts, and never having to work if he doesn't feel like it. And all at the tax payers expense.

Prior to the Taurus, I had a Daihatsu hatchback. Drove it for six years. Since I was young and dumb at the time, the car wasn't exactly treated very well, but even still, it never required anyting more than oil changes. It sipped gas. Both very good things for someone on a budget.

Yes I agree those old Tauruses were junk. At one time I've had a 89 Taurus and an 89 Mercury Sable. I didn't buy them because I liked them, I bought them because it was all I could afford(very cheap). Anyway they both died somwhere in the 90-100 thousand mile range and it was way cheaper to buy another car then to fix them. I will say they both rode very comfortably and had a nice feel(when they were running).

On the plus side I've heard Ford quality has drastically improved in the late 90's on into today. No major problems with mine...yet.

Wouldn't trade my old 99 Mercury Mountaineer for any of those three. It's comfortable, great looking, plenty of power, and drives like brand new with just over 60,000 miles.

My dad liked it so well he just bought a 2002 Ford Explorer and loves it. Go Ford/Mercury!

The ultra-rich will simply flee the state this time. But eventually will run out of places to go. There seems to be no stopping this Liberal nightmare no matter who's in office. With all the mass immigration the new century will never belong to the true conservatives. Right now its just wealth redistribution but eventually it will be land redistribution as well. Then all the "entitled" people will be out in our front lawns.

Maybe, but he certainly has the Clinton's horrendous personalties pegged. I believe him when he tells nasty Clinton stories. I just don't put much stock in his predictions.

"I'm guessing that they will conclude that this is Bush's fault and more money will fix it. The answer is school vouchers, so students who want to learn can go to non-government schools where they will be taught by non-union teachers who want to teach."

I highly question the longterm results of school voucher programs. If we take the lowest common denominator out of the public schools and put them into private schools, the quality of private schools will end up paying the price. Eventually there would be no difference between public and private schools.

I didn't actually say you support reverse-discrimination but some of the things you have been saying seem to hint at sympathy for it.

You can think the liberals for that.

"LOL... you think that everyone with a 4.0 should get into school? You're fooling yourself. Did Bush get a 4.0 to get into Yale or wherever he went? BTW, if you don't think that Asians benefit from the stereotype of being smart and educated then you've not gotten out much or you're not aware of prevailing attitudes about people."

I still don't understand what your trying to say here. Are you saying that because bush got into Yale with less then a 4.0 that reverse discrimination is OK? Also I've met many people who are biased against Asians for a variety of stupid reasons. I think it's you who have not gotten out much.

    "Getting a 4.0 does not guarantee someone admittance to a university as much as that hurts some to know. Even if an Asian is sure that he/she lost their slot to some uneducated stupid black person with a 3.9 insteaf of a 4.0, Asians will always benefit from the 'positive' stereotype of being smart and educated."";

Strange argument. Please explain why this hypothetical "stupid uneducated" black person with the 3.9 got the slot over the Asian with the 4.0. Also explain why Asians should be punished for your alleged "positive stereotype" that I'm not sure even exists.

"Asians are not a protected minority in the U.S. Blacks and Hispanics are. Don't believe me? Try getting into college with a 4.0 GPA and an Asian last name. Tough luck. But mention somewhere on your application or admission essay that you are Black or Hispanic, and doors are opened wide for you."

"What kind of a country downplays academic merit in favor of racially-based (and biased) criteria for admission to university?"

My apologies you are correct. I was being sarcastic anyway but your definitely right. Asians and whites are penalized and punished for their efforts. It's sick, and those who advocate this type of thing should be tossed out of the country.

"That's why I advocate no racial categories on applications. That way people with a chip on their shoulder about something don't go around blaming black or hispanic students for their own personal failings."

I advocate no racial categories on applications too. That way people who advocate reverse-discrimination can't put their racist and socialist practices into play and continue destroying America.

"Come to St. Paul, Minnesota and you'll change your mind. You'll see what the Asian immigrants have done to once nice neighborhoods, and how they are draining the social services."

Don't you dare talk this way about a minority group(protected class). Don't you know that diversity is our greatest strength? A white person never has the right to criticize a non white for any reason. Didn't you learn anything in public skool?

"This is classic revolutionary hatred think Bolsheviks, Nazis, Khmer Rouge, Robert Mugabe when stories such as these appear. From Dunn straight to violence with scarcely a stopover thru "non-violence." One day one of these stunts will produce a pogrom and some hapless white person will take the brunt of their hate. And then the left will instead of making apologies will make justifications instead."

What you describe has already happened. Well at least kind of. Wasn't a few white people killed at the hands of some angry thugs who just watched the movie "A Time To Kill". The left-wing propaganda machine and the people at its controls are truly evil and dangerous.
