Are you immune to the Religion Forum rules?

Demanding that personal information is posted to you.

A missionary from Kenya I met the other nite told the story of how the villagers followed him around trying to find things wrong with him.

Like those busybodies, it seems you want to do the same thing to non Catholics here. Especially those that left Catholicism for Christianity.

Look out, this Godly missionary was only made stronger in his faith.

BTW he is a Christian that ministers to poor downtrodden people in Africa. Planting churches and starting schools and preaching the Gospel as required by the New Testament.

Thank you for making us Christians stronger with your invasive inane questions

    The Eucharistic Catholic Church (ECE-ECC)

Yeah, sprang up in 1977....obviously the true Christian church

It is The Eucharistic Catholic Church. Get it?

And if you go back to my post and read what they believe, it supports the Eucharist.

    The irony is magnetic.

Thank you for saying it is "obviously the true Christian church" only exchange "Christian" for "Catholic" as it is The Eucharistic Catholic church.

I am getting a kick out of this thread and all the rabbit trails that are being followed.

The title of this article is a lie: Hating Catholics–America’s ONLY Accepted Prejudice

Of course, if you follow the false logic of many Catholic posters here, every Christian is a Catholic.

If you were baptized, even if it is not a Biblical baptism like sprinkling.

If you were baptized in a church other than a Catholic church, it doesn't matter you were baptized a Catholic.

If you were earlier in life a Catholic and later decide to become a Christian, you are still a Catholic. Branded for life by baptism "into" the Catholic church.

If you desire to go to heaven, you have to "come back" (even if you have never been a Catholic) to the Catholic church to enter heaven.

Popes have said that you have to be a Catholic to be saved, so it stands to "reason" if you have salvation you must be a Catholic.

Catholicism has made it clear that Christians must be under the authority of their pope.

So using all of this false logic it can be believed by those who are members of the denomination of Catholicism that the title is not a lie.

Whether or not OTC's agree with the false premise propagated by the title is just a diversion away from the Gospel message of Christianity.

I knew about Noah and Lot; but good ol' Mose?

Moses..Noah.. what's the difference? Just showing off because you have read the Bible more then once I guess? Reminds me of the Elisha/Elijah comment a couple of days ago.

Catholicism: Peter is the foundation of the church.

The Bible: Jesus is the foundation of the church.

    What's the difference?--xone

In fact, "What difference, at this time, does it make"--Hillary Clinton, the Butcher of Benghazi.

Elsie, you have read the Bible more than once? Heretic!

Oops, I really should have commented on this question followed by snark:

Do you have the courage to speak of your own journey, or are you simply here to point a finger at others?

To answer the last part first (the first shall be last, it's Biblical...) I was pointing you to God's Word, the Bible, the Sword of the Spirit to clarify a statement you made.

I apologize, I thought you would like to know.

The first part, I have posted in the past the amazing and glorious way the Jesus revealed Himself to me and brought me into salvation through His grace and love.

I followed the simple scriptures I found in the Gospel of John and when I believed I became born again and from then on Jesus is in me and I in Him.

Which is why I am encouraging you to read the Gospel of John.

But like the scriptures about our own righteousness being filthy rags, you can choose not to believe the messages in the Gospel of John also.

"You have posted several long posts describing much of what you deny that I know."

That last comment is an aspersion on my integrity, which you have neither reason nor right to make. I resent it, and will not tolerate it further: please be advised; I will report it as abuse if you do so again

Here is what that last comment (quote of my statement) was referring to:

"you know nothing of me, nor of my journey" (#256)

And the fact that you posted to me in #241 quite a bit about your "journey" caused me to think it disingenuous of you to state what you stated.

So I answered the way I did saying you were denying I knew anything about your journey.

Just dealing with facts here G2G.

It seems you may be complaining about the scriptures to show that our own righteousness is filthy rags to God.

Which you stated you do not believe.

I thought it would help you see that it is in the Bible.

Do you read the Letter of St. James?

    Many times.

Do you read the Gospel of John which I referred you to more than once?

You may report me if you wish, but I do think it is acceptable to post scriptures to back up a previous statement. Which is what I did.

The Catholic church is the only source of Biblical interpretation which is protected by Christ's promise of infallibility

For us Christians, the ONLY source of Biblical interpretation is The Holy Spirit.

One of the greatest mistakes that protestants made during the revolution was to give up Christ in the Eucharist

There is a Eucharist Catholic Church:

    The Eucharistic Catholic Church (ECE-ECC)

    ABOUT US

+ A progressive, inclusive and affirming Catholic community

+ Welcoming the inclusion of women in the ordained ministry

    + Welcoming of married clergy

+ Full inclusion of LGBTQ people as gifts of God in the life of the Church, including ordained ministry and the Sacrament of Marriage

+ A place of healing for those who have been hurt by their church of origin, yet who still yearn for Catholic spirituality and liturgy

+ A Church in the Apostolic Succession, valuing His Holiness the Pope, the Bishop of Rome, as patriarch, and symbol of unity

You talk about the nicknames for non-Catholics

No, I mentioned some of the derogatory condescending words used to describe non Catholics.

Perhaps you would like to comment on the meat of my post, instead of just cherry picking the one comment you can safely speak about.

Here are my other comments, in case you didn't read my whole post:

... (non Catholics) started posting threads exposing the non-Scriptural non-Biblical aspects of the teachings of Catholicism.

Some examples being that if you are baptized Catholic (by the way, no one is "baptized" into any denomination) you are "marked", ie that is branded, for life as a Catholic and you stay a Catholic all your life and you cannot leave to become a Christian instead.

Also that to be saved and go to heaven everyone must "come back" to the OTC (One True Church) or they are not legitimate Christians and are not part of the body of Christ.

Or do you not believe those non scriptural comments are true as Christians know they aren't?

you know nothing of me, nor of my journey.

You have posted several long posts describing much of what you deny that I know.

Did you read your posts, I did?

Me: "Our own works (and rituals etc etc) are nothing but filthy rags to God."

You: I shall never believe that.

It's in the Bible, but maybe Tradition trumps the Bible in this area.

    King James Bible, Isaiah 64:6
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Again my quote: "Our own works (and rituals etc etc) are nothing but filthy rags to God."

    Mat 23:27, 28

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Very similar to what is happening today.

But remember the problem was in posting anti-Catholic things EVERY day.

Which was to counter the massive proliferation of threads bashing many non Catholic belief systems.

What Catholics call "Protestants" or "Prods" or "prods" and "separated brethren" got tired of the constant denigrating of their denominations and so started posting threads exposing the non-Scriptural non-Biblical aspects of the teachings of Catholicism.

Apparently Catholics complained about threads from legitimate sources explaining the misdirections perpetrated by Catholicism and OTC's were admonished to not post those threads anymore.

Your "best to follow" isn't what God needs, it's not "us" it is Him.

No. The scriptures show that Jesus is the only mediator between man and God the Father.

No mediator is needed between you and Jesus.

We can boldy go to the throne of grace and express our concerns and requests directly to Jesus.

Using a “mediator” such as Mary or long passed saints isn’t necessary or even possible.

Using a common sense knowledge (with wisdom supplied by the Holy Spirit) of the Bible will show how true and scriptural it is to go directly to Jesus without the stumblind blocks of uneeded entities.

There was a young couple that started attending the church where I was going a couple of decades ago. The father was having a hard time finding work and they had 2 or three children.

When they tried to tithe the leadership of the church noticed and told them no, we should be helping you.

The father said the church they attended before insisted that they give money. (That was not the reason they left that church) His priorities were God first (why he attended church) and then family.

What a shame, a “church” with a mandatory attendance rule and an “admission” charge.

As a kid I went to a church across the street from where I lived.

When it cam time to plase the plate, the preacher said paraphrased: “Dig way down in your pockets and put your money in the plate, down to the last dime”

I didn’t go back, heck I was a kid and didn’t have any money at all!

They are all being used by the enemy for one reason...to distract as many people as possible from looking to Jesus for their fulfillment.

Same reason for Fatima and other apparitions plus the emphasis on Mary in Catholicism lately.

I studied all kinds of stuff like that years ago, Maitreya was supposed to be big thing...where is that demon now?

People gobble up substitutes for Scripture like nobody’s business.

    From the father of lies.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:--1 Peter, 5:8

Thanks for clearing up who was referenced with the capitalization of those words.

That is a good question [Do you believe it is Jesus speaking on May 28, 1987?]. Not sure I'm qualified to answer it as you might be.

Any true born again serious Christian would know that the answer is no.

The only "qualification" to answer the question is to know Jesus is in you and you are in Jesus. Being born again and know that you belong to Jesus.

Your opinions are boldly spoken and come across as from someone who knows. That's not me.

Most all of my comments are not opinions, but are Biblical statements

It's not me that knows, but God.

Having spent years studying the Bible and listing to countless hours of preaching and years in ministry, I depend on the Holy Spirit to be the discerner of spiritual truths.

Now, to answer your question...I wasn't sure at first, still not 100% sure 100% of the time.

it sure sounds like Him, to me, and still does re-reading that message a few more times.

Yes, the channeler is quite good at what she does.

There is some truth in what he says (quoted in your post #817), but then goes off into supporting other apparitions that are not from God.

You are familiar with Lucia, Mary and Christ Child communicating at Fatima? They are spirits that are not from God. God would never appear in a vision to anyone as "Christ Child"

She makes it very scary for anyone reading the text to not accept that the whole Fatima thing is coming from God.

One quote from what you posted from "True Life in God" is something that God would never say, especially with the wrong grammar: "...believe, believe in Me, I, who am Infinite Wealth..."

Notice how close he gets to saying God's name which is "I Am" but can't.

What I've read so far sure Feels right, you know?

Yes, she knows how to envoke feelings from readers so they will continue to follow her.

It doesn't look like you have properly "tested the sprits" Biblically to be safe.

This is not the Jesus of the Bible that this woman seems to claim to be quoting.

I would suggest you spend more time reading the Bible, especially the Gospel of John.

Pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal Jesus to you in all his majesty and glory.

Based upon what you posted, a couple of questions.

You said: “God doesn't work like that these days”.

You seem to be saying that He did “work like that” at one time, though, so...

    1) Why did He stop?

    2) What is He doing now instead?

    1) Because of sin and the hardness of men's hearts.

And so people would not have their ears "tickled" by apparitions [a ghost or ghostlike image of a person] claiming to be "Christ Child" and "Mary" plus other various entities such as those called up in a seance.

    2) He sent Jesus, our (High) Priest, as the mediator between God and man.

When Jesus came and fulfilled the law, he became our advocate and brother and it is Him we can go to whenever we wish or feel we need to.

We confess our sins directly to Him and he forgives them.

Plus we can talk to him as if we are talking to our Father, God.

Jesus said He and the Father are one. See the New Testament for verification.

There was a church formed in the first century made up of every born again saved Christian and it was and is known as the Body of Christ.

The only thing "Catholic" about it was as scripture says a catholic...universal...church.

    'splained by who???

Check every post you have replied to with 3 or more questions marks.

That's you evading the Truth of the Gospel message.

Also check all the posts you did not reply to.

Your ignoring of the pure messages from Jesus Christ...The Word of God...The Sword of the Spirit...speaks volumes about your understanding of Christian spirituality.

You may learn something, in fact you even may become a Christian.

Yes, this post crosses the line of "personal" but the one I'm responding to had mindreading and erroneous personal comments about me that were posted as if they were facts.

I NEVER said that Mary and Joseph were under Catholic marriage requirements, nor that they were Catholic at all.....

In the past you have said the Jesus was Catholic. In fact I think you said he was the first Catholic.

I think that's one of those questions you must answer for yourself.
    OK

But no worries. It's open book. You have all the time you have to answer it.
    Didn't take long.

For me on my seeker's path, this is a "When you come to a fork in the road, take it" kinda thing.
Your choice as to what and who you follow.

As for you? Take it or don't. You make the call.
    That's the rule I follow.

No one can "channel" Jesus, although it pretty popular with some.

    Take Fatima and "Christ Child"

God doesn't work like that these days, the author should find another way to get his message across instead of making it seem that Jesus is talking through him. Not Biblical.

satan is quite clever and knows the Bible quite well.

He knows how to use some truth to get across his big lies.

In a case such as this, the person doing the channeling of an apparition gets a lot of attention, glory, hits.

    Bears repeating, thanks Jim.

Must read/listen. Our nation is now officially at war against Christianity and against God. This war is being conducted from the highest levels of government and is being forced upon us by a corrupt Supreme Court. Our government is now usurping the authority of God!

God granted us but does not guarantee freedom of religion. He does not guarantee freedom from persecution. Just the opposite. He tells us that before the end, we will be persecuted.

Well, here it starts for real.

This is what FR is all about. We will not comply! We will not bow to Caesar!

So sorry to hear of the passing of Diver Dave.

He was a joy to be around, I saw him at many Free Republic picnics back in the day and he was as involved as he could be when Tea Party Express tours and rallies were around the Fresno area.

He would rush to freeway overpasses to help cheer us on in our quest to bring Constitutional Republic types into leadership positions.

Rest in peace Diver Dave and prayers for his family.

We Christians follow the Bible instead. What I posted to you is Biblically sound.

That would, of course, be the Bible that was compiled, transcribed, and...etc etc etc same ol' spam ad nauseam.

No, it's the Bible that IS Jesus Christ, the Word of God.

    God breathed.

The Holy Spirit of God brought us the Sword of the Spirit, the Bible.

Yes, the bookbinder wants all the credit I know. Sorry.

    Jesus is not a Catholic.

Jesus did not read out of a "Catholic" Bible when he read scriptures in the Temple.

Catholics did not write the Bible.

Of course this has been 'splained to you many times.

Goodness, Catholicism didn't even start until the 3rd century!

Pray for the Holy Spirit to enlighten you on all of this OK?

Looks like everyone can post to everyone.

    Ecumenical Caucus.

It appears your may be mixing apples (Catholic caucus) (Protestant caucus) etc with oranges (Ecumenical caucus.)

It seems to me if it is Ecumenical, it is open to all belief systems that would come under the heading of “Christian.”

It does seem that some posts have become very tangential and look more like preaching/proselytizing rather then discussion.

    Yes I know.

I always try to show, from scripture, the truth to those that disagree with you and I on this.
