    [Oxygen masks]..Don’t they automatically deploy?

The cockpit controls are omnipotent, i.e., the cockpit members have full access to the switches, fuses and systems that can override or turn off the oxygen mask deployment. At least this has been my limited observation of the cockpit environment.

The probe by the two committees revealed that Obama's DOJ used mandatory donations to direct nearly $1 billion to leftist groups.

How the HE!! is this not illegal? Criminal? Using the muscle of the U.S. Government to funnel money to non-government institutions, subjectively selected, with no Congressional oversight should result in felony jail time for a whole coven of people.

Well, Dewey, I appreciate your analysis of Goldberg's premise. However, my take on your differing path is one of a distinction without much of a difference. When you remark,
"Goldberg and Sexton are close when they talk about ingratitude, but the underlying problem is sin and Leftists' proud inflated sense of self. Leftists are inordinately proud and thus are ungrateful people.", it seems to me that you are artfully embellishing Goldberg's stance, id est, ingratitude and ungrateful being on the same side of the coin.

Goldberg's viewpoint is that we live in a miracle about to be unwound by base, tribal, human nature. Your stance that we live in godless times with our Judaeo-Christian heritage being systematically suppressed, while accurate, doesn't seem out of line with Goldberg.

If I had read Goldberg's words without knowing the author, they would still ring a note of veracity, even though they were scripted by a disingenuous Never Trumper.

I don’t trust any pick from this sanctimonious city manager.

Therein lies the rub. After the candidate's interview, the city manager found a kindred spirit in this woman. The results of her selection, especially over inter-department candidates, alone spells the future of Santa Monica's LEO rules of engagement.

I will be the first to admit bad judgement if she quells homelessness, acceptance of ICE enforcement, and the jailing of illegal alien miscreants.

Despite any well qualified applicants, who are male, within the Folsom Police Department, the city managers had to search far and wide to find a woman whom they could hire and be politically correct.

This has been seen throughout Northern California. One recent egregious example has been the promotion of a woman, who rode a desk for five years, was out of service due to pregnancy, and then promoted over beat cops of 15 years of service to become their section sergeant.

Politics, not experience, rules the day in promotions.

“fear of the foreigner can infect Christians”.

Do you mean like the fear the Church had of the Muslim hordes that from 650A.D. until the present have slaughtered over 100 million Christians? The same fear that launched at least 6 Crusades to stop the extermination of Christians and Western Civilization? How about the fear for your family and way of life from invading Mexican bandits and welfare grabbers?

Dear Pope, it's one thing to turn the other cheek to an insult, it's quite another to acquiesce to self destruction, elimination of one's cultural identity and bowing to the PC dictates of satanic incursions.

.. a vast and underreported epidemic of anti-Muslim bullying in the district’s schools.

What under-reported epidemic? Bullying in what regard? Give an example of 'under-reported' malfeasance and maybe I can begin to understand WTH you're talking about.

The multi-year anti-bullying plan, developed with assistance from CAIR, called for adding Muslim holidays to staff calendars, introducing new library materials on Muslim culture, encouraging Muslim-centered high school clubs, creating “safe spaces” for Muslim students and providing staff training about Muslim culture.

How does any of this pampering reduce "Bullying"?

Mexicans who have entered the U.S. are “the heroes of the country,” Anya said.

Of course they are heroes. They are the vanguard, and successful, invaders of the enemy to the north. They heroically invade to influence the vote, send money back to the homeland (formally known as plunder,) and slaughter the occasional gringo with little retaliation or consequence. Heroes indeed...

If you are not willing to put a window sticker on your house that says you are gun-free, then why would you do this to our kids?!?

I remember seeing a post, and picture of a yard sign, on FR some time ago that reflected this sentiment and brought forth a chuckle of mirth, to wit (and I paraphrase:)

"This property is protected by supporters of the 2nd Amendment and ardent Bearers of firearms. Those with felonious intent are herewith warned that confrontations with the homeowners will be met with appropriate force. However,
<---- the property next door is a gun free zone.

..remember what happens when you attempt to compromise with people whose ultimate goal is your obliteration and why no amount of compromise will ever be enough.

Truer words have never been delineated.

The property rights of restaurant owners are not the only ones that have been abridged. The crux of this matter is the stealth elimination (unconstitutional in its method) of the 2nd Amendment. One has only to look in horror at England and Australia to see whole populations of citizens bereft of their rights to self protection.
In these countries, examples abound where not only are citizens stripped of firearms, but their governments have criminalized any attempt at self defense.

I hope we, the people, do not surrender to such tyranny.

This should be funny but it’s not.

Odd, but I was thinking the same thing. With the current, feverish and rabid hatred that the Progressives, i.e., Democrats, Leftists, Communists, and other Non- Trump voters, have for those who espouse love of our Constitutional government, it would not be surprising to see such 'news' appear one day.

Last night, I sadly found myself listening to the exhortations of the lamentable Glen Beck. He was pleading with his audience to love the enemy at the gate, to greet the foaming-at-the-mouth liberal with love and understanding. His plan was to show the communist SJWs that we, as well as they, are good people who can find common ground and live in harmony.
Glen's view is so much like the fable of the frog and the scorpion, except, in Glen's case, he is openly inviting the scorpion to ride his back across the river.

..gun-violence restraining orders, or GRVOs. These would allow family members to apply for an order enabling the legal authorities to temporarily remove guns from those who are deemed to be a significant danger to themselves or others.

Well, Ben, I'm not sure you've looked into the full consequences of such a facially prudent idea. One has only to look at Domestic Violence restraining orders to see that this process can be egregiously abused, e.g. the bitter and vengeful spouse who obtains such an order and places the partner under a restrictive cloud for months before seeing a court that is sympathetic to the aggrieved petitioner.

    Under such license to accuse:
    - The Police arrive to perform a full rummaging search for any weapons that are listed in the order (or found in the search.)
    - The court hearing could be months away and possibly delayed for over a year.
    - The Defendant will be barred from many jobs and much civil access until the matter is resolved (if resolved in his/her favor.)
    - Try getting the confiscated weapons back from a police department that will only respond to the most specific of court orders, if even then.

I know personally that if such a rule existed, there are family members, several who are SJWs, who would gleefully employ such an order against my right to bear arms.

Rugby is more entertaining to watch and to play. Because the players are not armored, the contact is different (still violent)and rarely is there head-to-head contact. In my personal years of field play, I saw many more serious, debilitating injuries from American football than from rugby.

Not a lot of schools or streets named for Joe McCarthy.

Joe McCarthy was neither a liar nor weasel. He was a distinguished war veteran and dogged Senator who was patriotic in outing communists in the U.S.Government. His good name was irreparably tarnished by the Democratic/MSM cabal who saw his revelations as political cancer to their ambitions.

As I recall, not one of his communist denouncements were ever found to be in error.
