I love this synopsis of the Clintons:

What a strange couple the Clintons became: the feminist president who was a serial groper and ace harasser; the feminist secretary of State who chortled in recall about an old sexual battery case in which she got a rapist off easy, and whose advisors reduced Bill’s liaisons to trailer trash or nuts; the two populists who cashed in; the middle-class defenders who fawned over Wall Street; and on and on.

I read his books - the Enemies trilogy and the Castigo Cay. After I was done, a few days later, I felt an Evil - made me sick to my stomach. I wondered where that came from. I realized - it was from immersing myself in the books and imagining what the protagonists were going through. Matt did a great job in portraying what I believe it will be like — and worse - when Christians are no longer here, and this is no longer The United States based on our God-fearing principles. This is some time in the not too distant future - when an Evil Lawlessness rules. Tribulation? Sure felt like it in the books.

This is NOTHING against Matt - his books were well written. He just portrayed some decent people with some inner morals who stand for what’s right, against evil people in power. Take it for what it’s worth - there are SO MANY people who don’t value what the United States is based on. They are going to be sheep to the slaughter when that day comes.

Absolutely! Jesus always put it in perspective for me since I was young. The verse below talks about giving - but it applies to any good deed.

    Matthew 6:2-4

    New International Version (NIV)

2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Google it and read the Page-Six or Variety write-ups on it. Basically giving very specific F-bombed versions of descriptions of Nancy Pelosi, hypocracy of PC and Hollywood re treatment of Mel Gibson & Alec Baldwin compared to Jon Stewart/Bill Maher.

Funniest thing I read in Page-Six article is that ‘Doug Urbanski’ is Oldman’s manager and co-producer. I think it’s THE Doug Urbanski that subs for Rush. He’s mentioned he’s a Hollywood producer. Maybe why Oldman speaks with unvarnished frankness.

having been around Amy Grant and CCM since the ‘70’s, I know too well the falseness that she and others exhibit as opposed to the clear teachings of the Bible. Back in the 80’s it saddened me that her interview with a leading worldly magazine for women, she had to snicker snicker talk about her use of F-bombs and running down the beach in Southern California topless - ‘free and easy’. The sadness was a. for her misguidedness and b. for the millions of weak Christians that would see her as an ‘example’.

I always think of the verse in Revelation “and they overcame him with the Blood of the Lamb and THE WORD OF THEIR TESTIMONY”. The older I get the more I realize the responsibility I have of the second part of that verse.

Certainly Grant and the Jars Of Clay guy have lost their way.

Totally agree. It is such a distortion, purposeful or otherwise of a healthy Biblical-based view of Sex. God created it to bond a man and wife together, for procreation as well as committment and intimacy.

It’s why Hebrews states “The Bed in Marriage is undefiled” - i.e., between a man and wife - with love and respect driving it, have at it.

It’s why Paul writes about husbands and wives not owning their own bodies but they own (read share) the others’ - and NOT to use Sex as a weapon or punishment. Why he further states to NOT deny each other “Except for fasting and prayer, lest you become tempted”. So God knows full well how He made us - happy full sex life in marriage is great to prevent adultery.

And finally, Anyone ever sit down and read Song of Solomon?? A very passionate and erotic (in moral way) book. It’s explicit in the Godly way - between man and wife. God put that in there for us to know full well how to feel about our mate.

I remember several years back where a survey was done and they found that highly religious people - married Christian couples, had the highest percentage of a satisfied sexual life in their marriage - confounded the pollsters - (and probably Madonna - typical idiot who thinks we hate Sex)

Satan will do everything to call God a liar and kill the Godly seed of the Promise (Christians and Jews) and raise up the sons of Ishmael.

But, in the end, God the Maker of Heaven and Earth, wins.

I know it’s not what we want to have happen - but to put it into perspective - the book of Revelation states very clearly about the Mark of the Beast, no man rich or poor, great or small, can buy without the mark.

HOW do you think that will happen? By this coming to fruition. It indeed is a scary thing to know God’s prophecy is happening. I believe shows like this ARE frog-in-boiling-pot - slowly conditioning us to inevitability - so that those that remain will (almost) powerlessly accept. They will STILL have a choice.

"The bible teaches men to be the head of their households and wives obey their husbands"

No. It does not. This is a view Muslims have. It says wives submit to your husbands. It says children obey your parents. Big difference. There IS a hierarchy with men as head of the household and men are to lay down their lives for their wives as Christ did for the Church. Wives are to submit to and respect their husbands. Look it up.

And if someone is going to quote the Old Testament with Sarah and Abraham - remember - the Bible states the truthfulness of many things that happened, right or wrong - but that's different to where it states what God wants or commands.

  • Bob Coy: Moral Failure?

I've attended Calvary Chapel FTL/Boca for the past 8 years. Pastor Bob Coy wasn't an 'Ego-driven jerk pastor' as one commented - spoke humbly and brought many to Christ. This breaks our heart as a church and those who are MATURE Christians are lifting the local body, Bob Coy, his wife and family up in prayer.

I thought of four things when I first got news of this.

    1. What my father told me many years ago: "Don't put your faith totally in me, but in Christ. I will fail." and he reminded me of the old hymn "On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand"

My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus' blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus' name. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.

    2. Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 "I will build my Church. And the gates of Hell will NOT overcome it."

    3. In Genesis 4:8, when Cain was angry, the Lord said to him " If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”. The imagery of Sin 'crouching at the door' has always stuck with me - how it's ready to pounce when we let our guard down.

    4. Speaking of letting our guard down - what Paul says to the believers in Galations 6:1 "Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted." - Paul states clearly we are ALL susceptable to temptation - if we aren't careful.

Please don’t misunderstand. Two clarifications: 1. I’m not saying that we won’t get disciplined as children when we express our anger - but I believe God in his wisdom guides us and answers us to learn, to become more Christ-like. 2. When I say ‘challenge’ it’s more like when God says in the Old Testament to ‘Prove me(some translations ‘Test me’ - not as in tempt God but in challange me to show you that I AM THAT I AM and mean what I say - My promises are Yeah and Amen! That is what I believe Moses and Abraham did. God loves a humble heart - but he also loves when we come to him in sincerity of feelings and thoughts - and he WILL correct us as the perfect loving Father.

    time4good to ebb tide

I think some people are missing the point on this.

God said in Isaiah “Come, Let us reason together” and Paul states we should “come boldly before the Throne of Grace”. Yes, Moses and Abraham both challenged God in the right way to hold him to his nature, his word. I believe God wants that - He wants us to have total reliance on Him, to believe that we can take him at his word. This in no way should be taken that we are a. equal with God, or b. that we are more high and mighty than we actually are.

Just as Jacob wrestled with the Angel, I believe God wants us to be sincere in our grievances, anger, confusion, ALL emotions and reasonings. He KNOWS we’re limited in our understanding - that’s why He’d rather us be direct and ask him than to NOT ask him but walk around haughty and proud and ‘in no need’ of him.

Remember how Jonah was angry at God because he knew that God would have mercy on Ninevah? God didn’t say ‘How DARE you be angry with ME!’ - no, he instructed Jonah as a Father would his ignorant child.

Although it is prophesied that in the Last Days, Evil will increase, I believe what the Bible says “where Sin abounds, Grace much more abounds”. Also, although this verse is debated on who is ‘he’, I believe it is the Christian, as the Holy Spirit will always be at work while Man is on Earth:

    2 Thessalonians 2:7
For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.

A caller on Rush today had a great point. The low paying burger flipper wage is a great, natural incentive to moving up and out. Been there, done that - like most American boys (and girls). If smelling like chopped onions and fries grease at 11:30 at night doesn't motivate you to find a better paying job, then you've got some serious motivation issues. The idiot caller before that guy said that $15/hour was 'fair' 'cause the greedy rich Corporate fat cats don't deserve all their profits. Pure ignorance and covetousness.

I don’t think I’m out of line when I think of what Jesus said (in a different context, but still his point spoken):

    John 3:8
The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.

So is Man’s foolishness to try to predict the weather.

  • Why I Called Out Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer

I think this guy brings up some good points - the main one not literally quoted “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1

To me, Joel gives an excuse for not preaching the Gospel, because the lesser good of making people feel better about themselves is more important to him than warning people that a false right-standing with God through ‘feeling good’ will have eternal consequences.

As far as Joyce Meyers - I grew up in the late 70’s/early 80’s with the “Name It/Claim It” crowd pulling away close friends and infiltrating strong biblically doctrinal churches. It got me so filled with righteous indignation and I spent most of my time debating, interceding in prayer or letting friends go the way of a tickled ear. She was one of the main pushers of this. Not until years later did God deal with my self-righteous attitude with her. I saw some things changed in her what I originally perceived as extreme arrogance. I do believe God has touched her in certain ways in her life, but I also know that many can be used by God and still be corrupt vessels (heh - me included).

I have no problem whatsoever in believing 100% of the Bible, old and new testaments, including the Book of Acts where broken men were changed by the power of the Holy Spirit to do mighty works - ALWAYS GIVING GOD THE GLORY. But I still burn with anger towards those who Paul was referring to when he said “...who preach the Gospel, whether for selfish gain or not, the Gospel is still preached”. They deceive many into treating God like whiffle-dust or Santa Claus or a genie.

Sure, I long to have the faith to tell the seas to be still, or like Elijah, call up rain after 3 years of drought, or praying for a little girl and see her raised from the dead (or even sicking a lion on some yutes who call me baldy (2 Kings 2:22-24)). But all of these are for God’s glory. That’s why James so well puts it: “3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”

I had no idea about what he quotes about Joyce Meyers saying. If truthfully quoted, indeed it is not biblical. Indeed, I am responsible to speak the truth, admonish fellow Christians that the way of the Cross is not Me-first, and pray for those like Joyce and Joel to repent of false doctrines.

Yet we serve the Creator of the Universe with whom ALL things are possible. And I believe that with all my heart!
